The lack of interiors is what disappointed me the most about V. It's like they've listened to the complaints about IV having too few interiors and they piss on it, as if its a joke.

They don't have ANY excuses anymore when the next gen GTA is out.

No more excuses? How about downloadable content?

From Rockstar's point of view, if they see people are so upset, then they'd be dumb not to include interiors in DLC in order to make some money.

This has likely been a thought since IV.

Downloadable content is not an option for them next gen because the hardware is 10x better than the last gen consoles, they wouldn't even have to worry much about limitations with the interiors, hell they won't even need to think about it.

I thought this might help some people, definitely helped me
http://www.reddit.co...omments/1p0r07/

Also, I don't see why they closed mission specific buildings, because most times when someone glitches into them, everything is still rendered, so it's not because of console limitations because it's always being rendered

I think what Rockstar are doing is locking interiors out and then they will unlock them through patches/DLC. It's common sense, I know. But it's a strategic marketing tool because it might bring those moles out of their holes who are bored with the game. They're trying to build up momentum.

There are a ton of interiors. We just can't access most of them. After mission completion, these should stay unlocked. I wonder if replaying missions is the reason why they relock them.

I would also like every interior marked on the map. Even the obscure (why is this here?) ones. (Dam)

I would like strategically placed new additions too: Animal Ark? Restaurant at pier, dinosaur diner, the college, dance club, gyms, prison, military base, clucking bell factory, strange house upper right corner on cliff, hardware store in Grapeseed, observatory, Marlowe Vineyards building, Mt Chiliad building, altruist camp etc. Open the fracking Mines too. These two entrances beg and plead to be explored. Those underground barred drainage entrances are enticing too.

More open interiors = more immersion. DLCs could make me happier. I don't think they will do any of this though. They should but they likely won't.

I can't seem to edit my previous post on mobile so... I just wanted to add:

An interior for the rehab clinic would be cool too. I have loads of fun running through neighborhoods and exploring yards, alleyways, gardens, rooftops, etc. So much of the map is inviting - I love it.

Even if we can't get actual interiors, it would be cool to see edited map objects that provide internal access to buildings. This wouldn't change loading time or bog down resources at all.

Here is a complete list of interiors in GTA IV and GTA V (I am not counting copy and paste interiors or similar interiors as multiple interiors) that are unlocked in free roam after completion of the games:

INTERIORS IN GTA IV

  • Bohan Safehouse
  • Algonquin Safehouse
  • Playboy X's Penthouse
  • Alderney Safehouse
  • Burger Shot
  • Cluckin' Bell
  • Russian Shop
  • Modo
  • Perseus
  • Memory Lanes
  • 69th Street Diner
  • Laundromat
  • Triangle Club
  • Honkers
  • Subway Station
  • Random low-rise apartments with roof access
  • 'Blow Your Cover' apartment
  • Museum
  • Bohan Warehouse
  • Waste Plant
  • Alderny Warehouse
  • Libertonian Museum
  • Sprunk Factory
  • 'Russian Revolution' Warehouse
  • Platypus
  • Ted's apartment
  • Dwayne's apartment
  • Abandoned Casino
  • Fire Station
  • Hospital
  • Lawyer Office Building Lobby
  • Tw@
  • Multistory Carparks/Underground Carparks
  • Garbage Truck Depot
  • Townhouse from a mission I can't remember the name of, it was for Little Jacob.
  • Construction Sites
  • Statue of Liberty
  • Warehouse from Manny's first mission.
  • Elizabetha's apartment building first floor.
  • Subway Service Entrance

INTERIORS IN GTA V

So as you can see from this list, while GTA IV does have more interiors, GTA V does not actually have much less, they are just more spread out which gives the illusion of having a lot less.

Good list. :^: However, V could've easily had more if they would've kept restaurants, mission interiors, and added a few more interiors like the Bean Machine, purchasable safehouses, or a few more clothing stores preferably near Vespucci.

Even though the number of interiors within both games is almost the same, it is more unacceptable for V because V has the better technology and bigger map...

I wouldn't dislike a Safehouse list in GTA V. like how we had in GTA SA. one of the best things SA had hands down.

also, there's way too much more than what CantThinkOfOne2013 had listed. they're just hidden. two or more of them are in LSIA. the big hanger, and a nearby building.

of course there's more. Subway tunnels, underground system, Vinewood Bank, IAA and FIB buildings. its not a glitch actually. I spawned once there in GTA O with no glitches so its not a glitch.

Extra interiors would go nicely with more points of interest.

first this is the GTA V section. alot of people here are probably don't play GTA Online (right?)

secondly, don't spam with "add me please" etc posts. I understand that you're still new, but doing so may get you banned.

Cheers :)

there is an interior inside somewhere. there's a door to the left. inside there's food machines around. that's the interior.

basically to tell if you're in a one or not, check the map. if it shows you the surrounding, then it is a interior.

Mission interiors are actually completely unloaded outside of the missions, this is due to limitations, otherwise why would Rockstar code them to unload?
And GTA IV and GTA V are actually running off the same technology (system and engine).

I wouldn't dislike a Safehouse list in GTA V. like how we had in GTA SA. one of the best things SA had hands down.

I just added a few more to the list and I'm sure there is more to discover.
I would also like to say that there is enough detail to make exploring the exteriors of buildings fun, for example, the backyards of mansions are rich with unique details and rooftops of low-rise buildings are accessible by a series of ladders and stairways and other buildings such as this one have plenty of nooks and crannies where the only difference between it an interior is the lack of a ceiling.

I'm going to hell from Official General for saying that.

The mission interiors appear unloaded because they were glitched into...?

I replayed red dead a couple weeks ago and I was in interior heaven basically all the buildings were accessible and there were mine shafts and deep caves to explore and stuff gta v has gigantic mountains with not a single cave unless you count the 2 metre deep wanna be cave in tongva hills. I really liked gta iv because I could wake up go for a walk get some food and just randomly find a house I could walk in or a boat with a big interior basement and the city felt alive gta v feels too fake just like the real LA lol jk

Actually when people glitch into these areas most of time, it's mostly loaded, just a few minor visual glitches, and bottomless floors.

I don't agree with the console limitations thing, seeing as in online. There can be up to 16 player, an the game was still able to unload the entire north Yankton map.

I think that interiors would be great. The city constantly brings up disappointment for me. See that Cluck N' Bell? No, sorry, can't go in that. What about that convenience store? Nope, only some stores can have copy/pasted interiors. Oh, that huge building that you were able to explore in a mission? Yeah, can't have that either. It's like the developers are giving me the finger.

Don't like interiors? The answer is simple, don't go in them.

I have read most of this topic, apologies if someone has mentioned already, but when will that gigantic Casino open it's doors? There was a lot of gambling in San Andreas with a huge Casino and a bookie....I can't believe that 8 months on you still can't access the casino or the horses....unbelievable :O !

More interiors does make sense, especially if they have made the effort for a mission already. A big night club would be epic in the middle of the city where players could go and chill and meet and greet! Does Rockstar check out forums like these for ideas? They do have a email address for people to send in suggestions I think...do you reckon they really listen to any though?? lol :catspider: :facedesk:

It is important to highlight that GTA V actually has a huge amount of buildings with detailed interior - you just cannot access all of them in free roam.

As disappointing this is, I respect the fact Rockstar have probably done this due to technical limitations. If we wanted to enter all interiors in free roam I think we could only do it the San Andreas way - loading menu into the building - and I would detest that.

I genuinely wouldn't mind a loading screen, which I think may be the case with the casino, if it opens.

It already happens with the garages, and it doesn't affect gameplay.

And I seriously doubt if 2/3 building being opened up, will actually hurt performance.

I agree with the OP... I personally see absolutely no technical reason to lock interiors after a mission is completed, even if it has something to do with replaying missions, which technically makes little sense (why close public buildings like the hospital you drive through in one mission), then why not unlock them when the game is completed...

Cheap, cheesy, lazy or deliberately intended to limit your experience and direct you to something else... a little of each, or all of the above... either way its just one more thing that pisses me off about what they did with the game...

Each new installment of the series they used to add more cool features... but now it just seems that if they come up with anything new, they feel the need to take away something cool that was popular in the previous installment.

You know, at one time I was a big fan of the series, in fact I really had no real desire to get a PS3 until GTA IV came out, and bought it specifically for GTA IV... yeah, thats sort of is like spending $500 for the game...

Based on the current trend I have ZERO intent on buying a PS4 just to play GTA 6, and if I do get one before GTA 6 comes out, I have no intent on buying GTA 6 when it is new, I'll wait until I get a used copy at a good price.

Too many half finished ideas, intentional limitations, lack of follow through on fan requests and overhyped implications of the gaming experience.

A 5 second loading screen would be 100% acceptable in return for the casino! Probably being delayed as it will be a hot target for all the cheating muppets to get some free cash with a glitch im sure... Do they realise they are spoiling it for themselves and everyone else who just want to play the game as it should. Gone on a bit of a rant there, apologies. I just love this game so much xD
