What is your opinion on what should/should not be in the Heist Creator?

Let's use this thread for comments, questions and suggestions.

 

What do you think should be configurable?

  • Heist details (name, photo, # of players, time limit, etc.)
  • The total value of the heist, say from $25,000 to $1 million (or $5m?)
  • The placement of money bags throughout the bank
  • The option to require the vault keypad hack (on/off)
  • Cops on or off
  • Guards on or off
  • Traffic on or off
  • Weapons forced or not
  • The particular bank (Pacific Standard, FLEECA, etc.)
  • The safe house location
  • Replay on/off
  • RP value for successful heist
  • Other

Configuring the details of the Heist

 

The basics would probably stay the same, but perhaps that is configurable as well?

  1. Go to the bank
  2. Get to the vault (if there are guards or the alarm is tripped the LSPD would be there)
  3. Hack the keypad
  4. Steal the money
  5. Escape the bank (more LSPD and guards by this time)
  6. Drive to the safe house

What other possible options would there be for this? e.g. you must use a Frogger to escape, cargobob to steal the entire bank vault after you blow the roof off, etc.

 

Thoughts, suggestions, questions? Provide a description of how you would design a heist and how it would play out. I will update the main post as things progress.

I'm pretty sure there is no Heist creator and heists aren't coming anytime soon..

For the sake of this thread, I'll play along. Allowing for bads to adjust the cash value of a heist? No thank you. It's already hard as hell to find a decently made DM/Race so I don't exactly have faith in the community at large to design something worthwhile here. Wouldn't something like this also have the least amount of versatility and variability? What I mean by this is there's only so many "banks" or "financial institutions" of some kind so it should end up as repetitive as missions themselves, correct? Granted it's more significant than "grinding" RR over and over, but still it just doesn't sit right with me.

 

Something else that weighs on my mind is the lack of content to use said newfound income on to justify player created Heists. I suppose you could argue future players/characters.

 

At the very least there has to be an immense cool down on something like this. I'm thinking at least 2 in game days or longer on YOU personally (you just robbed a bank, probably best to lay low for a good period). I'm also thinking of a high rank necessary to participate (considering payout, magnitude of the event, goal for lower ranks to work toward, etc).

I doubt Rockstar will allow the general public to create heists....especially after seeing the thousands of complete wastes of server space that stupid children have already made.

The way you've presented it makes it seem like a terrible idea. People would just abuse the sh*t out of it. Heists with no enemy resistance and high payouts would be all you could find, which completely defeats the purpose of heisting (<--doesn't even seem like a real word even though it is)

well, thats what this discussion is for. I dont know if you could say never to Heist Creator, but maybe with certain parameters it makes sense...... there are enough banks (FLEECA up north, maze tower, pacific standard, etc.) to have a good variety and it's not just about the bank, thats just one location. you have to get there, get the money, get away. the get away part is where a lot of variation could come in...... as mentioned, perhaps you have to lift the whole vault out with a cargobob, or exit via heli on the roof under fire, or base camp from the top of maze bank while escaping the cops moving upwards through the tower since they have the lobby covered..... and yes, cooldown, JP points required, rank requried, etc. can all be adjusted just like they do w/mission payouts etc.

but thats why theres voting, so the good rises to the top and gets verified, either by me or rockstar, etc.

there could be some great Heist Creator content soon.

lets think about a double heist or something, or a long haul, the FLEECA up north from SP and you have to get back to Eclipse and that means military is coming out.

yes, there would be some abusers that would set

 

PAYOUT -> $1,000,000

RP -> 50,000

REPLAY -> ON

COPS -> OFF

 

and put the safehouse up the block half a mile away, but tbh people would just get bored with them probably

And I think the best/only real way to have a heist creator and then have created heists come out balanced, is some sort of points duality between positive and negative features of the heist.

 

So let's say for example, you have a bunch of settings and options that add or subtract points depending on what they do. And to be able to publish a created heist, you have to fall within a certain range of points. Making a high payout would push you outside of this allowed-to-be-published-range so you would have to find an effect that would subtract points (like say higher wanted level upon leaving the bank, tougher security, whatever) and bring it down back to that range so you can publish it.

Heist is walk into bank you spawn right in front of. Hack or blow up the vault. \walk out and drive to safe house a block away with no cops, no traffic, no guards.

 

or the other half, 1k guards with miniguns, rpgs, combat mgs, then if you somehow can hack a safe with infinite spawning swat teams, you have to escape from hoards of tanks and buzzards chasing you, across the entire map. Payout. 10k. plus random walls and ramps every block

Here a user has placed Cash Bags in the main lobby area of the bank. Each Cash Bag contains $25,000 and 40 bags may be placed for a total of $1 million.

Great idea on the point system to balance things out. You'd have a set number of points to use based on sliders.... so  high payout, but # of cops go up, far distance to safehouse, higher payout and vice-versa. Higher value in vault, your safehouse must be further away....

 

I'd kinda like the creator ONLY to recreate classic movie heists like Heat.

 

Heat shootout in the streets of downtown LS would be interesting.

yeah the range is limitless, make it difficult or easy, high payout or low, etc. cars, helicopters, cargos, etc.

well its possible perhaps just within a range and it depends on it having reached a set difficulty level. maybe anywhere between $50k to $1m depending on how the system rates it

UPDATE: Most people would want a heist be $1million and 50,000 RP and be able to adjust the # of players and safe house location.many things tied for optional heist parts.

Honestly, after thinking about it I really like the idea of creating your own heist. But I don't think you should be able to adjust RP or cash. Other than that you have free roam to build.

it may have to be adjusted but I think there would be some great heists from the community. like some long heist you start in paleto bay rob the FLEECA and have to get all the way back to LS airport  and leave in a jumbo all the while with 5 stars and dragging the vault behind u in a sabre down the freeway meanwhile ur other players are taking out the helis and police cars and tanks behind u.

 

i just see the heists will be good and all but if we are talking about 2 or 3, well its going to get boring real fast. the only thing is if they have new ones every so often, but why not just do a heist creator then and see what the players create.

Heists are never coming. It was a false flag operation to gauge the interest. When they seen there was great interest in heists, they decided to give you a Roosevelt instead.
