Hey guys, I have been meaning to post this awhile ago but decided to do it now, so, every time I am playing GTA V I hear a whooing ringing sort of noise, it's best heard in the desert or on a farm, safehouse etc, I thought it may have something to do with aliens or something, but this noise has not been reported on the internet, next time you play, turn your TV up and listen for, whoo whoo, whoo whoo, I don't think it stops until you walk away

That's exactly what I thought.

I don't know but I've heard a lot of rumors from people saying they heard something that sounds like a trumpet out in the desert, some would call it a HAARP sound or whatever. I don't know myself but it's worth checking out.

It sounds like cars racing in the distance. I assume that's what it's supposed to be. The first time I played I thought there was a race circuit for cars, but later thought it's just ambient sound of a car accelerating fast in the distance like you'll hear occasionally in real life.

Yes, this has been discussed before. This 'trumpet in the desert' sound is actually a sample of a performance motorcycle accelerating.

Oh well never mind then. I thought the sound was supposed to be the sound of what was going on with that HAARP thing or whatever people were talking about a few years ago.

Because I've read every single post of every single thread of this forum... Unless you're not having a go and just pointing out this has been discussed before. Either way, this whole topic is new to me (to be reading anyway)

He was just trying to be helpful.

Please do remember that we have a very good search function that will reveal a similar thread from just after release - though, to be honest, I think you're talking about a different noise to the one previously discussed.

I'm going to leave this open for now. I would suggest maybe trying to get a video or audio recording of the noise, then post it up on YouTube so we can be sure of what noise you mean :)

if it's that low pulsating woo sort of sound i've definitely heard it and it is weird. always made me walk around thinking something was near, then noise would stop when facing certain directions. when i had it at it's loudest point there was nothing i could see that would make the noise

yeah it is hard to describe, like people have said above it's sort of like the spaceship parts noise and i've heard it in a few places.. i haven't been in game for a while since i bought stick of truth lol, but maybe if you do make a recording of the sound it will be easier for people to know what you're referring to =)

Oh look.. this guy heard some ambient noise and he decides to make a thread for it. Seriously, stop making so many threads, most of them are pointless.

Forums have a specific set of jargon associated with them; e.g. a single conversation is called a "thread", or topic.

A DISCUSION forum is hierarchical or tree-like in structure: a forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new DISCUSSION started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.

Depending on the forum's settings, users can be anonymous or have to register with the forum and then subsequently log in in order to post messages. On most forums, users do not have to log in to read existing messages.

I am simply discussing about odd things in the game and was wondering if this was in others game also, my other topics have been solely for research, or  just questions that I could not find an answer to, it's only normal to want to know what others think.

If it's not a spaceship part then I have no idea. I haven't heard anything else in the game that emits a sound like that. Some of them are pretty well hidden, and I've even picked up a few that didn't make the noise at all...But I suppose it could be something totally different that I haven't encountered yet.

I do recall hearing weird noises while driving around Blaine County in Single-player, I'm guessing it's the Ambient sounds.... Though you never know it could be something else.

Maybe Ric Flair is quietly calling out woo, woo from somewhere in the Paleto forest.

I've heard the 'trumpet' sound so many times within the city. It just feels like general ambiance because there are usually other less pitched sounds that play along with the 'trumpet'. It's pretty relaxing. I hope to get a headset soon since I have read in other threads that the game has a ton of nice sounds which can't be heard from a normal tv output.

But is there a specific place in the desert where you heard it? If an audio-clip isnt feasible, If you marked the location, return to see if you still hear it, maybe post a shot of the map location so other ppl can go there.

I def know the motorcycle-in-the-distance sound and that doesnt snd like a "woo-woo", its a progressive *wonnnnnnnnnnng*. I've not went hunting for space-ship parts so I have no idea of their sound.
