First, this is just my honest opinion. Second, f*ck off if you try to say something like "Fag, get a life", "tl;dr" or "GTA online iz da best fuk da rest". Third, my English is not good.

I'm always a big GTA fan. I mean, Grand Theft Auto is the best franchise to me, it was never meant to be a milked game like Call of sh*tty, or Assassin's Greed.

Other sandbox games never make me wanna play them. It has something that makes me a royalty fan to the series.

When i first see the GTA Online trailer, my mind was blown, i thought to myself: "This would be another legendary GTA like GTA SA".

But no. Instead, all we get is the f*cking fans who don't play other GTA beside GTA Online. Hell, they don't even play the Singleplayer, they just bought the game for the Online. 90% GTA Online videos on Youtube are tutorials on how to use glitches to cheat the money, or videos about random sh*ts with kids yelling, laughing and screaming like idiots.

This is "Grand THEFT Auto" right? Not "Grand BUY Auto" for f*ck sake.

The game is about killing ,shooting, and carjacking, not do all the jobs for the money, and then buy apartments.

That's not the worst part. The worst part is: Rockstar only cares about the Online. All the singleplayer gets is the vehicles. Leaving it to dead with the rushed storyline.

GTA is dead to me if Rockstar keeps doing this sh*t.

tl;dr: READ THE f*ckING POST YOU MOTHERf*ckER.

I prefer SP but online is where gaming is at these days and if you don't adapt you end up like Blockbuster.

I agree. I think online its fun but they are caring too much about it. They should just kept the basic system and gradually release some new features (cars, clothes, weapons) but nothing too fancy to care about except for God Mode Hackers.

It would be nice if they just kept the system they had already around the 1.03 patch. All they've been focusing in is to STOP PLAYERS FROM NOT BUYING BULLSHARK CARDS, and release stuff so PLAYERS MAY BUY BULLSHARK CARDS TO BUY THE NEW DLC STUFF.

Yeah the content may be free, but you've got to pay to unlock it, and if you don't have In Game money..... You will have to pay REAL LIFE money to get it.

And it's most likely you won't have the money unless you farm missions un hard mode, using just pistol ammo because other ammo/explosives are super expensive and you'll lose money doing the mission, even if you won, you'll had spent more cash in ammo than what the mission actually pays.

(Does anyone give a sh*t about hackers modding or exploiting money apart from them?)

Single player was a hell of an adventure, but thinking it some time after I completed it, I think I was expecting more from it. I would like at least constant DLC, new missions and features in Single Player.

Like Woggleman said, whether you like it or not, online gaming is where it's at. I'll agree with you that the glitches and hacks are/were annoying, but realize that in the gaming industry it's sink or swim, you have to do what's popular and what would please the majority of people playing your game, and you can hate it all that you want, but GTA Online is where it's at for most people. I don't even like that myself, but that's the times we live in, people want a content filled online with unlockables, a level up system and purchasable in game items instead of a brilliant single player. You can't blame Rockstar for doing what helps their games sell copies and get new fans. Coming out with online DLC instead of single player DLC is going to be the much more rational business decision, so Rockstar will obviously do that, instead of appeasing to a small minority. If you want to play a game based on single player, Maybe you should try RPGs, there are a lot of great RPGs that don't even have online modes and have 50+ hour story modes that you might enjoy.

Wait until they start creating games for the Xbone and PS4. Hopefully they will redeem themselves. If not, expect a Red Dead Online and other bullsh*t. Greedy f*cking pigs.

Well, he mentioned Call of Duty for a reason.

At first it was EPIC campaigns and fun Multiplayer.

Since Black Ops 2 it's just boring ass ultra fast campaign mode and 99% Online stuff with purchaseable DLC content.

I loved the times when Modern Warfare 2 was hot. The campaign and spec ops were EPIC. Multiplayer was pretty rad too, and the DLC maps weren't necessary. And even if you wanted them, you could just get a few friends to buy it and share the new maps on all the consoles.... They were cheaper too.

So you're butthurt that people like Online more than SP because SP gets boring quick no matter what game it is?

Most people wouldn't have stuck around for IV if it weren't for the multiplayer. f*ck, pretty much every long-lasting game is because of multiplayer. Burnout, LBP, Battlefield, even COD.

Nobody gives a sh*t about Sleeping Dogs or Just Cause anymore because they have no long-lasting multiplayer. Fun singleplayer, but it doesn't last long because it's singleplayer.

That's all SP is, and that's all SP will ever be. A short playthrough everyone enjoys and that's that.

It's 2014, OP. Move on. If singleplayer only games are so good then why don't you go get a PS2 and play all of those wonderful SP only games?

GTA 5 earned $1bn in 3 days, but aside from that GTAO earned $66ml in 5 months, according to Take2 and Rockstar,GTAO will be an onlime mmo franchise to GTA and it would make up for GTA's
4-5 years development cycle,so you better get use to GTAO now or just quit loving this Legendary franchise as a whole.

Sad, but true. I couldn't tell you the last time I played RDR, GTA IV, Just Cause 2, or Max Payne.

The way I usually start my sessions is to do the Survival, I think on Boneyard it's called, where you camp in the dumpster. You can survive all ten waves alone. At the end you get good XP, $20,000 and more importantly loads and loads of free ammo. Not to mention plenty of guns. Especially helpful if you are low rank and dont have many guns unlocked. Even get the almighty Mini Gun.

The only drawback is that it does take time, 20-30 minutes and can get boring. Since it's the first thing I do (have it on a playlist so I just warp there) it's not bad. I use it as a warm up and I never ever buy ammo except for explosives.

I agree, it ruined SP, but they have to make Online since like other people said, gaming is in online now. It's not like it was 10 years ago. We have to adapt on something new, though they could make SP better next time and make balance between SP and Online. It would show up like best option.

Ironically talking about adapting the one thing that has never adapted or changed is online modes. Once you take away the spit-n-shine of newer titles, you see the likes of deathmatch mode has never changed since the 90's or the new MMO is alot like all the other MMO's of past.

It seems though that those that scream for online tend to come from those that thought xbox Live was a revolution and a first of it's kind.

Not true, believing something that stupid is spreading this cancer even further. I knew gtao was going to be a pile of sh*t before it was even released, just like iv's online. I don't care what others do for fun so if you honestly like the multiplayer of a gta game that's fine, but I'm one that only cares about the single player and there are millions out there that only care about the SP. As long as that market exists, R* would be dumber than sh*t to not capitalize on it, and they know it.

Money is necessary to buy anything.

If Money was not aspect of the game,Everybody would be driving around in Adder and launch rockets around.

The player works for money not for fun but we play for fun.

Though It is possible to hack but we don't get satisfaction of leveling up with Hacks or Glitches

Every DLC till now is free

Atleast,We can buy in game with in game money.

Not Real Money like 'EA'

Well, the DLC's are free, but you'll need to either live to get money on GTA Online, glitch it or pay R* real money for unlocking those DLC features (Buying cars)

How much takes to save up a million bucks for a "legit"player who doesn't farm in any way and just plays for fun? Rockstar wants everyone to be that player that just plays for fun, poor in game, so their only way to get stuff is buying in game money with real life money.

It's a very well prepared plan, but a bit malicious if you ask me.

Personally, I feel you can solve many of the issues you listed in the OP by gathering some like-minded friends and starting up a private session.

I agree with the notion that GTA Online has, in some ways, detracted from the effort put into the single player experience, but you've got to acknowledge that R* are a company at the end of the day, and as such, only exist to make a profit. GTA Online exists for this very purpose.

Totally disagree with you OP: GTA V has the best SP of the series, with some of the best missions, and one of the longest campaigns (about 120-130 missions).  That's before you consider that a load of GTA Online missions can be played by one person.

Games with only single player dont last anymore. Seriously what is there to do in the Single Player after you've completed the story and side missions? Nothing

In Online you meet up with friends and come up with your own ideas of what to do.

You don't even have to play it as MP.  If you haven't already, I'd recommend going onto Online in an Invite Only session and doing jobs that only need one player.  There's literally hundreds of jobs you can do.

Yeah multiplayer is very important. That's why Sucker Punch included this in Infamous: Second Son...

I bought GTA V for the single player experience and not this whole online bs. If this truly is what Rockstar has planned for the future then i will not be a part of it. But who cares? they lose a couple of old costumers but gain newer ones every day.
