How would you best cover a map?
After a few months of running tanks on servers, we have the LS map divided like so:
Now since we've never been able to expand beyond two tanks per server, it is a lot of ground to cover so typically we end up with a clusterf*** of a mess when idiots break formation and leave their area, cross into another Zone or just altogether exit without telling the other tank or waiting for a sub.
And since we have about 8-10 servers going at any given time, there needs to be some structure in place about what to do, no matter who you are paired up during your Tank Shift. We used to have larger Zones, more complicated coverage maps, no DMZ and more checkpoints but I don't know if it is just a new breed of players, but last week it was a zoo where one minute things would be going good, the next you turn around and the other tank is half way downtown just because of some a-hole they are following around blasting for personal reasons.
QUESTION IS: How would you run tanks on the map? Do those zones look logical or are we missing something completely obvious because KZ1 and 2 are typically our meat and potatoes (LSC, Eclipse Towers, the shops, Ammunation, etc.) but maybe players are generally leaving Eclipse, not using LSC Central, etc. so maybe the whole thing needs to be rethought in terms of maximizing coverage with two tanks. Z3-Z5 were added after KZ1 and 2 so that's why the ordering is off. Maybe that's part of the problem. Maybe just remove Zones 3-5???

I know good organization is possible because I see some great videos of Roosevelt/Sweeper teams, etc. on this forum.

VESPUCCI BEACH TANK SHIFT
Custom painted Rhino driving on the Pacific Ocean, drifting, then rapid firing on an enemy Entity that was harassing fellow beachgoers at Vespucci Beach.
VINEWOOD TANK SHIFT
JB 700 outfitted with Turbo NOS and tank rounds protects the intersections from hostiles. Starts off blasting a guy for wearing orange shorts then double-taps an SUV probably going to LSC to glitch money. Finishes with a hostile wielding an AK-47 possibly in god mode. Yes, note the double-tap with a tank round.
GARAGE TANK SHIFT
One of those LOL moments...Tank accidentally gets into another player's garage, trying to maneuver to exit the garage but instead taps the wrong button two times and destroys some SP2MP glitched vehicles. #embarrassingmomentsintankshifts
VESPUCCI BEACH TANK SHIFT, CHAPTER 2
Custom painted Rhino turbo-NOSing on Vespucci Beach, minding its own business, spots a griefer, fires a warning shot that accidentally erases a Level 19, then rapid-fires 12 tank rounds at griefing tank for causing the misfire, instantly vaporizing him.
LITTLE SEOUL TANK SHIFT
P-996 Lazer with modded afterburner attempts fly-by, breaks off left tread, Rhino lights it up.
LSC TANK SHIFT
Double tank shift catches two glitchers headed to LSC to money glitch, one on foot using the running mod, the other with a custom Feltzer driving away from LSC going to double back on the side street.
JB700 EDDIE BAUER TANK EDITION DISASSEMBLES RHINO TANK SHIFT
Catches a player glitching LSC up the a-hole, blows him and his Chradder up. Guy returns with a tank. Custom JB700 ScubaDave Signature Edition outfitted with turboNOS and rapid fire disassembles Rhino's turret and fires two additional F-You shots.
I've gotten a few requests to list the gameplay scenarios we use on servers. So here are some of them and I will update as time permits.
- "LOCKDOWN" - Per the map posted above, lock down a full area of LS, usually around 15+ full city blocks. Full containment, players can enter, but stop them from exiting.
- "CURFEW" - Use the map for communication, but actually should move among all Zones. Anybody out of their apartment during the curfew hours (usually 24 hours) get blasted.
- "GLITCHBUSTERS" - focuses on the glitchers making LSC (central), ponsonbys, ammunation, etc go bankrupt. Focus on LSC glitchers, unlimited shoe glitch, unlimited ammo glitch.
- "MONEY LAUNDERING" - Madrazzo has learned there is a car export business operating and people are taking Adders, Entitys and other custom cars to export out of the control. Destroy all custom cars on map to prevent this rival gang.
