I downloaded the business update but nothing is on elite travel

Go to airport, it's a special plane so you have to select it.

Same goes with cars, you gotta go to your garage.

The real question is ;

Is this OP (overpowered) and will it ruin air races ?

I don't know about overpowered but...it looks like mallards might not win everything in future...

I guess people can't glitch planes into multiplayer, those will be the cars you're seeing I suspect. Once the update actually drops it will all be available legit.

Air races were already dominated by the Luxor/Shamal, and since a lot of people suck at flying those this plane will likely even the playing field. I admit it's kind of nice to be nearly guaranteed to win so often in air races just because people keep choosing the wrong plane and they can't even compete, but I think I would prefer to have it be more of a proper challenge.

Of course we'll need to actually wait and see what the top speed is compared to the Luxor/Shamal, without that we have no way of knowing what to expect and it's hard to gauge that playing by myself in SP (it's definitely about as fast, but they might adjust the speeds in the race anyway so even if I did test it now it may well prove irrelevant).

It has no vertical stabilizer... How does it yaw? In fact, how does it even stay upright?

Can it maintain level flight inverted?

Not with my Franklin at the stick

The V-tail acts as vertical stabilizers and will keep the plane upright.

Are there any advantages to a V-tail other than aesthetics (in real life, I mean)? Are there any limitations to its application (eg. engine config, wing config, etc)?

Also, if you look at this plane (fictional, I know) the tail is directly in the engine's wake which I can only assume would end in total disaster.

Looks like a spy plane! Nice.

What did you expect? Its the same kinda plane the all known super hero Impotent Rage has.

Not the same aircraft.

You should be more descriptive, the V-tail can also operate inverted.

One less surface to drag through the air, instead of 3 surfaces in a conventional tail there are only 2 surfaces to drag through the air, also slightly less linkages. One disadvantage is if you loose one of the V-tail surfaces you loose control of the aircraft. You can still fly with half an elevator on a conventional aircraft. an interesting design concept involving V-tail like surfaces is the A-tail which is basically an inverted V-tail, aircraft with this control surface have less roll/yaw coupling meaning the plane turns better when just using the rudders.

You would be correct in your assumption about engine wake heating up the LE of the two surfaces, (heh at least the aircraft doesn't have to worry about de-icing) Rockstar is confused about airplanes.... The main landing gear on the Mamantus is too far rear ward meaning take offs and landing will feel funny for a pilot meaning rotation for take off will be abrupt and flairing for landing will have premature settling and nose gear damage upon landing. (its a function of the LG being too far aft of the CG)

Also the red and green lights never flash on a full scale aircraft.   :panic:
