oh boy.  another anti-dlc "hero".

i'll take a 20 hour game with varied missions over a 30 hour game with repetitive missions.  cough cough GTA IV

I did feel it was complete, because it had a beginning, a middle, and an end.

Granted, the endings could've been better, but that doesn't mean it wasn't complete.

I'd rather have the game be incomplete but keep me on the edge of my seat for every mission than another GTA IV that feels like nothing but filler for over half the game.

I rather take IV than a half-assed game with undeveloped characters, poorly written story, a company trying to satisfy the san andreas fanboys.

That's the story of a lot of people.

They were overhyped, and when you're overhyped, the game's gonna be a disappointment no matter what.

@above, i think thats more opinion than anything. I way over hyped Skyrim and it exceeded my expectations, same for AC4, just because you over-hype a game for yourself doesn't mean it will be disappointing. When I think of GTA I think of not only a crime drama but also a vigilante story. All GTA protags had one thing in common, they did what they wanted when they wanted and let nobody stop them. Then we get GTA 5, which is an amazing game dont get me wrong, but to many people like me the game felt incomplete, all we got was the crime drama, no vigilante feel at all. No police side missions or paramedic, pointless side quests(strangers and freaks), did anyone feel accomplished after completing any of these aside from maybe Beverly since you kill his ass, and your basically owned by the government. And its for these reasons, and others, I feel I paid for an incomplete game, I'm not disappointed by the purchase as ive gotten my 60 dollars worth many times over, in just felt like I only got half the GTA experience.

Of course this is all opinion and if yours differs from mine thats awesome, that's why video games are art, its open to opinion and interpratarion

Now this sh*t is getting out of control. At first it was just a few people complaining about some trivial things, now we have f*cking doomsday prophesiers predicting the downfall of the series, that "the suits" are "in control," and other mindless sh*t.

So, how much longer until you idiots get bored, leave, and this board becomes an okay place to visit? It's insane that out of all the forums and communities that talk about GTA V, this is the one filled to the brim with delusional critics.

I wonder if we'll get a statement from the Housers regarding their opinion on the DLC stuff.

For what it's worth, though, we should be lucky that the DLC doesn't cost a dime. My beach bum pack was free, my valentines day massacre thing was free, I'm almost positive the business pack thing will be free, and I've got a good feeling the future DLCs are going to be free. I sure as balls got my $60 worth out of the game, and the free DLCs are like those chocolates they put on your pillow at fancy hotels.

I felt it was complete. Why not? All of their enemies were taken care of, they all were rich after the big score. Game over.

Its a great game. I'm not a fan of dlc. I feel like these vehicles and weapons should've already been in the game. Its a bummer for people like me who aren't big gamers so we aren't going to pay for xbox live just to get a handful of cars, even if they are really nice, they aren't worth that.

The storymode itself felt like a complete game though.

It is true that it doesn't feel complete. Everytime I play I get the sense something's missing. I never got that feeling with GTA IV.

@above you dont need an Xbox live subscription to download updates and patches just an internet connection unless this has changed in the past year, if so I apologize

But I agree I'm not a fan of dlc, unless it's like EFLC or something like The Shivering Isles, I feel as though most of what we will get for GTA 5 doc is stuff that should have been on the disk, vigilante, paramedic missions, interiors, the casino. And that in my opinion is not ok

Tired of the trend of, let's release most of the game so it FEELS complete and then unlock/add the rest with patches or dlc to keep people playing longer. SA is a decade old and people still play it, goldeneye is probably close to 18 years old and people still play that. Stop extending the life of your games with dlc and just make an awesome f*cking game again, if they had this effect on a close to 20 year old system, why can't we do it with today's ultimitly more powerful machine and technology

Stop whining.  We'll be getting an expansion pack.  Those never cost a full 60.  Plus all the online DLC has been free.  If you're the kind of person who complains when somebody gives you free stuff then you need to be dragged out back and shot.

Far as completeness goes, the game had THREE PROTAGONISTS.  It doesn't get more complete than that.

The gangs weren't fleshed out all that much, and neither was Franklin's story.  But if that's doesn't make you feel like there's an expansion on the way, I don't know what does.  It's an obvious writer's trick.

Nothing wrong with "more and more (*FREE*) DLC". But how can you say that the games will get shorter? GTA 6 hasn't even been announced yet!

Oh.. so now we get all the way to conspiracy theories with this. OK, first of all GTA V is a great game. But even if it was as bad as you're suggesting there's no need to defend the Houser brothers by blaming it on ''the suits''. If they do make a bad game, blame them.

And a little FYI : ''The suits'' or to be more specific Take Two Interactive's board of directors always had a role in GTA. But their role has nothing to do with the gameplay, artistic style or anything design related. They are the publishers and they can push Rockstar to release it earlier, or tell them to go back and redo some stuff if they don't think the final product is good enough. Seeing how they usually give Rockstar more time to polish games, it's obvious they don't really push them. And seeing how the game is released it means they were satisfied with the final product, just like millions of players, reviewers and grandmothers.

You expected more, you didn't get it.. well boo-hoo, there has to be one or two cases like you.

I feel that GTA V is the most rewarding and content rich entry in the series.  It's clear to me that more effort has went into it's single player portion than any other GTA.  I expect GTA VI so be even more ambitious.  I have zero interest in GTA's multiplayer but I don't feel like the single player has been compromised because of it.

Rockstar should get back to their roots. I don't like that they make all of these little DLC pieces. I'm fine if they make something like Episodes from Liberty City or Undead Nightmare but I think there's no point in what they are doing at the moment, GTA Online wise. Rather make one big GTA Online DLC a year than all these little pieces of nothing really. Same goes for singleplayer mode.

Rockstar, you are better than all the other game developers, you don't have to do this, you know!

If you meant that the Housers sold out, I agree even though I love the game.

XboxLive and PSN destroyed gaming for some but totally enhanced the gaming experience for others.

It's debatable whether V is 'complete' as someone said, there is a beginning, middle and an end, but some obviousaties (that word does not exist) have been left out and sprinkled about on XboxLive and PSN to keep the consumer playing and renewing their Xboxlive and PSN accounts, it's all about the dlc 'heist' anyway.

It's similar to a musician releasing a music video 3 months after releasing an album, it simply garners more revenue after the initial release :/
