For me, it's hard to go back to IV at all. Boring gameplay, that's what the problem was. Story was great, missions were repetitive as f*ck and gameplay lacked some quality.

Official, let me tell you a little story about my life:

You see, I have this Aunt. She's basically a hoarder. She loves getting useless stuff. She also loves giving it away to family. Guess who gets a lot of it? I do!

"if bullsh*t is given to me for free, why must I be grateful for it?"

You don't seem to grasp it. You don't have to be grateful for it. You don't have to like it. But it is literally retarded to not accept something given to you for free, no matter if you plan to use it or not. Why?

Because it's free! It's something you didn't have before! Something you'll never have to pay for!

--------------------------------------------

If you despise gum, but someone offers you a piece, what do you do?

If you guessed "Take it because it's common courtesy, then do whatever you want with it after", you'd be correct!

Obviously, this doesn't apply to serious things, such as cigarettes and drugs and the like lol.

--------------------------------------------

Oh, and guess what? 99% of what my Aunt gives me is bullsh*t. Something I have no use for. Hell, it usually gets thrown away as soon as she leaves.

Does that mean that when she gives me something for free, I should go: "No Aunt, this stuff is bullsh*t"? No, because that's f*cking stupid.

Instead, what you do is: "Thanks Aunt!", take it, pretend to use it, then discard it when necessary.

Also, I don't see how what R* is giving us is bullsh*t. More cars and guns. More things to use.

I get this completely, but I also understand that some people want a DLC more on the scale of TLAD and TBOGT (just examples, something that sounds like a full on plot more than assassinations and flight schools). Of course, something like that might be in the works too, they just haven't said anything to suggest it yet.

Nah it's different for me. I'm going back to IV soon, because I miss that dark, gritty, concrete streets of New York City feel. I wanna use Glock pistols again. I wanna be able to deal drugs, call up armed gang members to back me up in missions, steal cars for export, or just go in a police car and check their database to hunt down criminals. I wanna walk into a Burger Shot or Cluckin' Bell, take a jaunt in a nightclub or play pool in a Jamaican bar. Play darts in a Irish Pub. Have dealings with mafiosos, mobsters, gangstas from the hood and others. Get into gunfights in drug wars with rival Dominican drug dealers in Holland and Broker or outlaw biker gangs in Alderney. Or just walk through the Firefly Projects and watch the M.O.B gang members run the place.

Man, I got many reasons to wanna play IV again.

However, I don't see how little appetizers of guns and cars, and now missions are bad in any way.

It's like preparing for the main course.

I don't know. If they say that it took them a long time to make, which is obviously going to put people's patience off, (sh*tty nature of humans), and cost was a bit high even for DLC, then it's believable. I don't think they are going to do massive DLC's like that really, but still big enough to be replayable for a while and add to the game a lot.

General:

I wanna walk into a Burger Shot or Cluckin' Bell, take a jaunt in a nightclub or play pool in a Jamaican bar. Play darts in a Irish Pub

See, this is where you come across as so confusing (or contradictory - however you want to look at it). You want the above features, yet you repeatedly bash V for being "too much like The Sims"?

I wanna be able to deal drugs, call up armed gang members to back me up in missions....Have dealings with mafiosos, mobsters, gangstas from the hood and others. Get into gunfights in drug wars

And you still get upset and wonder why people accuse you of not wanting to let go of SA?

Man, I got many reasons to wanna play IV again

I may be wrong, but weren't you highly critical of IV on this forum before V's release?

Ha ha, I like the analogy. I agree, I can't see why people would complain about something extra. I do, however, question R*'s marketing strategy. At the moment, they're not even saying if there will actually be a main course at all. Personally. I can do other things if it doesn't happen, but I do wonder if at times their secretive nature does frustrate people (perhaps reading views on this forum though is mis-representative....)

I got a confenssion to make, I hate the irish pub. It was the most souless piece of sh*t interior in any GTA to date if there has ever been one in this whole franchise.

They already said there's substantial SP DLC coming, and unless R*'s grasp on words is awful, a few missions aren't substantial lol.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah it's taking the piss that they aren't even talking about the online heists, let alone the SP DLC.

When they're less secretive, it frustrates people too (look at how people are angry about the non-appearance of heists in Online, for example).  Or, more specifically, it frustrates people on forums.

Well I guess you can't please everyone right? I don't know, I think they've pushed it a bit too far down the non-communication side. Rumour and word of mouth have been powerful marketing tools for R*, but I think you can over-do it a bit.

-8 new cars
-1 new plane
-1 new weapon
-New assassination side missions
-New heists to both Online and SP
-New missions to both Online and SP
And more content to come.

All for free.

And you guys are complaining.

Get a f*cking job, you spoilt brats.

And more content will be like I said few months ago - new cars and weapons. Nothing fun. They even won't give us fun weapons like katana, chainsaw, flamethrower, just new pistols and carabines. GTA is dead, deal with it.
Oh well would you like fries with that?
Ffs...

@OG It has to do with getting a job because people who whine about these freeDLC's probably can't appreciate the value of money.

But official, since its free and is coming with an update, it doesn't affect you. It's not like you're forced to use these stuff, think about it technically. Remember we still don't have the main stuff we are waiting for, online heists and story DLC. But yes, IMO these stuff can burn in hell. But I ain't angry because I know im not forced to use it.

I'm not affected in a great way. I'm just gonna be pissed off if this story DLC and extra stuff is not good enough. Right now its not encouraging news. I don't want no Flight School bullsh*t, I don't want more Assassinations, what about other better stuff that could have taken their place ? That's my point. Anyway, I'm not holding out on hope for GTA V getting better anyway, the game has kinda let me down enough already.
They can't please everyone by adding everything everyone wanted. Theyre taking small steps like adding more assasination and flight school missions.

Eventually the casino DLC will come. Just don't expect a las Venturas or San Fierro add on. Be grateful for what you have right now (for free)

God, I sound like a f*cking mother.

If you guessed "Take it because it's common courtesy, then do whatever you want with it after", you'd be correct!

Obviously, this doesn't apply to serious things, such as cigarettes and drugs and the like lol.

Also, I don't see how what R* is giving us is bullsh*t. More cars and guns. More things to use.

I don't want to sound rude, or anything, but that must be the worst piece of analogy I've ever read in my entire life.

People are different, and there are plenty o' people out there like me who won't accept stuff that is free, because:

a) It's completely useless for me, and I have no one near me who would need such a thing.
b) I don't like it. (I'm talking about everything in general... food is a bit different though, as I'm not the kind of person who would waste it if it's given, but for God's sake, if I happen to don't like Coke, Pepsi, etc., then please, GTFO and don't take my rejection of these things as a personal insult... )

Everyone should grow the f*ck up and try to realize that PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT. We have different tastes, opinions, some of us plan before doing things and some of us are just completely ignorant and do anything they want, regardless the consquences, and some of us are having trust issues, because we know that free stuff isn't always "free", and could end up being a trap.

As for DLC... well, I for myself think that when I buy a freakin' game which is advertised as a real "open-world experience", the company behind the said product should focus on improving the game, and concentrate on giving it replay value. As for these free DLCs, Rockstar used the "okay, let's just have free guns, and cars instantly accessible for single player gamers too" approach, which is kind of f*cked up. At least they could've included one, or two smaller missions where the player had to do special stuff to acquire the new content. Or even easier: Let players BUY THE DAMN STUFF THEMSELVES, not just give it to them...

On a side note: Mark my words, because there's a big possibility of horses being added to the game as well as the Hydra.

It's funny. Spoilt bratty children also share the opinion that won't accept free things if they don't like it or they think its useless.

You also need to realise that the DLC isn't fitted exactly to your liking. Some people would prefer to have the weapon or car acquired straight away.

And I don't know of you've figured this out - but the free DLC's come with big fixes.

Honestly, just think about it this way. You walk into a DVD store to buy a DVD. You buy the DVD and the person at the counter says they'll throw in a certain DVD to go along with it for free. However you don't like the look of that DVD so you refuse to accept it. It's not harming the DVD you originally bought in any way, but you still refuse to accept it because the DVD doesn't look good. It's a case of being ungrateful.

This f*cking name calling bro, god damn. Let somebody put there two cents in, even if you, personally, don't agree with them.
With that being said, a couple of guns and cars don't give the game replay value that GTA is known for. Yes, the heists do. But I'm wondering what has taken so long for them to be released?
R* was boasting about 600 missions PLUS the heists.
It's an honest question, what's taken them so long?
Please, anybody, answer that without throwing an online tantrum.

i.e I'm all for free DLC. Keep it coming. Just don't get used to it guys, sooner than later, you will be charged for it.

As much as I loved those DLCs with the cost of producing games games these days no smart company is going to do something that was a commercial flop the first time around. Maybe if more people supported EFLC instead of being in I hate IV mode like many were back then they would have done it again. Blame the fans if we don't get that kind of DLC again.

No one but R* can answer that.

Well, everybody on here seems to be a PR secretary for Rockstar so they could attempt. Maybe just work around the question and stall for an answer.

Not really. Why something is taking a long time is completely different than speculation on something small and stupid.

Businesses are similar, which is why I can answer a lot of things with confidence when it comes to R*.

However, why something is taking so long? It could literally be anything.

Lots of people saying that we should just be grateful for free content and I have two responses on the contrary to that.

  • Firstly, the new Assassination missions and Flight School missions have not been confirmed to be free. It likely will, but it hasn't been confirmed.
  • Secondly, I can't speak for everyone but I believe we're all somewhat appreciative that we are getting more content, but that is not the point. The point is that we would prefer Rockstar to dedicate it's resources to things the community wants. Even if it is free, what's the point if nobody wants it?

But Daniel, you dont know what content we're actually getting. Just already by hearing only two confirmed things you're jumping into conclussions that is going to suck.

You have to be patient and know what we're going to actually get, plus there is a lot of different things that the community want. So listenning to a specific group would piss off this other group. So they're just doing what they think is best for both worlds, its not like we're going to get more Yoga possitions or new courses for the flight school.

What if the DLC introduces Basketball, fast food interiors... new S&F's, vigilante back, the hunter and more things that all people want in common?

I understand what your saying but I never said it's going to suck I was just asking asking for peoples thoughts on the idea of Flight School missions as a pre-opinion and I'm not asking them to go for a specific group, just what the people majority want rather than what nobody is asking for, and what nobody is even interested in wanting.
