XBOX with component cables, for graphics. :p
PS2 is still nice, though.

It's not all about graphics, it's also about the gameplay!

But considering they both are the same in terms of gameplay....

I'm going to say PC though, it has good graphics, whilst retaining the original PS2 feel and has extras like replays and mods.

For me, I'd have to go with PS2.

depends what sort of controller you have for PC.

-some missions are downright impossible if you are using mouse and keyboard...

Nah, PC is missing some elements and objects. You can recover them by using mods.

PS2 has great atmosphere because of some lighting elements - although worse textures and audio quality. Has all objects, including petrol pump etc.

Xbox "remake" by Rockstar Vienna is not the best cause it's a PC version with better textures than PC + real-time vehicle reflections + missing objects. You can't recover these objects until you've modded your Xbox.

So in my opinion, the best to play, not watch, is PS2 - best atmosphere, great lighting + more smoke. It's the original game, although weapon HUD was mistakenly made darker.

But still, no replay in Xbox and PS2 version so... I would go for PC in terms of "normal usage", without nostalgic cruising around Liberty City.

I'd say PC, because of mod installation, classicness, and the way how it feels. Xbox is alright though.😌

In terms of gameplay, I'll say PC version is the best. You have the ability to use mods. If you're concerned about graphics, PS2 and Xbox are the choice.

PC, because of the modifications and so forth.

But, if I had to pick a console it would have to be the Playstation 2. Hell, I played my copy today for 4 hours straight. Never gets old.

PS2, for it is the original. Other versions lack that gloomy dark GTA III feel to the point this version has, and this version also holds the infamous O Mio Babbino Caro soundtrack, which was cut out from other versions for unknown reasons.
Plus, this version is easier to play, as in many places it lacks those fences and cardboard boxes that were placed around in later versions - again, for unknown reasons.

I don't like the PC version. I don't like the iOS version, either. The PS2 version has the perfect amount of grit because it's technically inferior to a PC. III is a dark, foggy, grainy game, and I like it the way it was originally conceived, though I am not against a remake.

Without a doubt, PC was the best. In PC the graphics was nicer, and there were much more secrets in GTA 3. Start the Firetruck mission, don't extinguish the fire, just keep pressing F1. And within minutes you can be a Millionaire. Also modifications were for PC, not PS2 or Xbox.

Definitely PC, mostly because of being able to play it at a higher resolution and you can mod it as well. Plus you can restore some of the removed features when it was ported from the PS2, and add some beta content in there as well. I also can't forget the custom radio feature, perfect for guys like me who want to make their own late nineties and early two-thousands radio station.

PS2, of course. That's the original.
