I tested commer and have crash near bridge. I'll chech that area.
 
I have found the reason of crash - error occurs because of wrong rotation quaternion of one model

and replace it to this

Alright, I did this and I'm still crashing around this area. IDK what it is?

 

 

Looking at the textures on the paving and roads, Are they really like that in the PS2 / PSP versions. The UV is mapped pretty bad just look at the intersections - they don't line up with the road textures, oh and about the UV textures and Alpha bugs. I am getting tired banging on about the woes of Kams and the such and I am not alone with this, I've sent Majestic a pm about it anyway.

Yes, Rockstar rushed a lot of things texture wise, especially on the roads, we've had to fix those on our map.

I'll fix those when I get to the point of adding stuff to SOL. my only problem is removing the radiodity lighting from the models.

 

Looking at the UV mapping in that picture i'm sorry to say that it looks horrid that Rockstat just left it like that. shameful.

 

I make a point of getting the UV perfect on models I make.

I got both in game LCS and VCS pretty well and easy to do.

 

The LOD objects need to be prefixed with LOD so the engine can handle these better but that's not a problem either.

 

I found this little issue in commer.ipl south end of the map.

LCS and VCS doesn't have usual LOD system as presented in III VC and SA so LODs seems not related with objects so it is impossible to define them.

All objects have original positions and rotations so this is not an issue. Rockstar have put model this way

If you continue working on the converter, perhaps a plugin system would be interesting and open a wide range of possibilities to other modders if you publish the tool. A general and extendable batch processing tool would be really nice I think---just an inspiration.

I do not blame that you do not want to use my first method of converting VCS map through Hex editor and import clumps in MDL importer by AK-73 in 06.06.2010. Instead you simulated city, LOL.

Are you planning on doing LCS for GTA IV?
I think that it even fits within GTA IV's boundaries so maybe you could connect both cities and then replace each building with an HD model.

That tools? MDL importer are realised in 2008: http://gtaforums.com...2-mdl-importer/

Stories map converters - in private. For these programs, you should refer to their respective authors, not me.

I'm don't use XBOX wheels, it is 3 VC + 7 VCS original wheels: here

The basic sound effects (Menu beep, Weapon sounds, whoosh, radio change) I have a lot more, if you people are interested.
