People have complained about the lack of many interiors in the game. Well most likely the large countryside/wilderness areas are largely to blame (either space or time issues, or both). So that begs the question, would you have been fine with this game being simply the city of Los Santos, with little to no wilderness surrounding it, if it meant being able to enter a lot more buildings?

Personally, I'm glad they did it the way they did. Interiors only exist when you enter them, but the entire world exists wherever you go. More interiors can probably easily added by DLC if they wanted to; the same probably can't be said about all of the countryside/wilderness. Also I'd take fewer, high quality interiors, over a larger amount of them that seem useless (felt like half the interiors in GTA IV were just apartment buildings that were only used for missions). Really the lack of being able to enter Burger Shots and the casino are my biggest complaints, but again, those things could likely be added as DLC.

im glad the country side is there even though there isn't much to do in it.

I'd rather being able to swim underwater be removed and interiors added.

I prefer interiors to be honest. The countryside and city in GTA V both seem to lack something, but if I had to make a definitive choice I would take a city with more interiors anyday.

Atm LS feels like a cardboard cutout. The random apartment blocks in GTA IV may not have been that exciting, but it was cool just to be able off the street and walk into these buildings. It gave LC a feeling of being a real place which is something that isn't conveyed well with LS IMO.

Anyway the countryside is a nice addition, but I was one of these people that didn't care about LC lacking it. I've always been more of a city guy.

I highly doubt its either. The map was pretty much finished by the time the first trailer was released, and the three actors said they got hired 3 years ago, which was late 2010 or early 2011. So I assume R* worked on building the map and story for the game throughout 2008-2011, got the cast together early 2011 and then got Ned to do the voice over for the first trailer while they got everything else together.

EDIT: Oh and I highly doubt console limitations caused less interiors. It's quite obvious it caused less forests/trees, but interiors shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah this 100%,also they should of just had a basic generic underwater details cause I never care or want to go under water, rather give me decent interiors and a mall so I can get my psycho killer murder rampage killing spree on.I would rather get my spine sucked through my cock by a midget man whore than play those sub missions again, they really grinded my tits.

There's so much potential there. I'd like to blow open the vault in the bank. Maybe even rob the clothes store, barber shops etc. There's only a few ways to make money: jobs, liquor stores, and armored trucks.
But yes, there are a lot of interiors. We just pass by without noticing them.

Tbh i am not,What GTA 5 did that no other GTA or openworld game have ever done is that every interior has been mapped (has it own interior map) that a great logic,i dont even think Watch-dogs will do that.anyways any interior you get in is mapped, that includes Cinemas,The Underground Tunnel,The Station at Galileo Mountains etc.

It's not even a matter of processing power for the interiors necessarily, it's just the sheer amount of time and money required to do these things. GTA will continue getting bigger due to its popularity, but eventually there will be a point, I feel, not far from now where the sheer enormity of the map will make it impossible to add more while still being cost-effective for the company. There's only so much that can be achieved when there is a budget/profit ratio to hit.

GTAV's countryside needed some creepy areas I think, otherwise I liked it, i'd keep the countryside over more interiors.

If GTA V has 200 interiors I guess the pope really does sh*t in the woods.

100 is a far more realistic estimate, but to be honest some peoples' interpretation of what an "interior" is can be considered sketchy at best.

I'm always for the countryside. A big open wilderness can provide much more fun than an interior where you can do nothing but walk around. You can have fun 100 times doing a jump at the same hill, or have fun exploring an interior once. Even if that interior is some interactive place, there are only few of them that have actualy potential like casino. All other interiors would be just more places with nothing to do.

not really, for me this why i get immersed with Openworld Games and thanks to GTA for popularising these 3 things:
1.A Safehouse
2.A Gun Store
3.A Cloth Shop
and every GTA has always have these 3 cores since the Franchise entered 3D in 2001.This was why i also loved Saints Row 2.GTA 5 have those 3 things and i am fine.plus again what other openworld franchise makes you interact with Strippers in a Stripclub like GTA? or make you flirt with them? yeah it has been in every GTA but V took strip clubs interactive to f*cking Next-Level.Damn i hope Watch-dogs is more of a "GTA Clone" than a modern Assassins Creed.

I'd rather have a city with tons of interiors than a countryside with nothing to do in it. That said I'm excited for the GTA of the next generation, how will it be? where it will be? what will the theme be? ohhhh j'hallucine with that.

Nah bro you are just trying to downplay that the number, anyways i will say it 100-200 interiors atleast in V (if you count all the mapped interiors and the unmapped ones).

Same bro :) anyways if it an HD re-incarnation of Vice City i am fine or even a new city.Damn i cant imagine the Next-Generation of Strip-clubs in GTA,seeing how IV and V expanded it this gen.

Doing a jump 100 times in the same spot doesn't sound very fun to me.

Anyway I think this comes down to what kind of player you are. Myself I love to slowly stroll city streets checking out every nook and cranny so I appreciate it when there's an abundance of interiors to explore.

And lol at V having over 200 interiors. WTF are you smoking?

I`d love to see how a modern day GTA clone made by Bethesda would look like? Those guys go batsh*t crazy with interiors it`s also about time rockstar had some real competition.Rockstar ups their game every time even though no other sand box games come close to them and I respect them for that lack of interiors or not.

How about having balance between Interiors and countryside? No very huge map but no million interiors and small map. It means enough countryside, enough interiors.

You mean GTA yeah? cus at the moment no other openworld game is in competition with their Ruler. But yeah i would love to a GTA Clone that will give GTA a tough time, but after GTA 5 release,GTA just became the Best-Selling Openworld/Sandbox Game Franchise of All Time with 157ml copies sold worldwide since it inception in 1997.and it the #5 on Top 10 best selling game franchises.

I am sure Next-Gen GTAs would have alot of interiors but you will still get Retarded Complains like "oh Rockstar wtf,GTA isnt a Life Simulation" etc.

As far as this last generation goes, definitely the countryside.  I say that because there was no way they could've included lots of heavily detailed and interactive interiors with actual things going on in them for this last generation... at least not at a level that I would personally like to see e.g. an office building with lots of destructible objects, workers with scripts/AI good enough to simulate the feeling that they're actually doing something, and windows I can drive through with a motorcycle much like in VC.

However, in this new gen, I hope to see GTA bring much more life to interiors and make them an intricate part of the gameplay, especially outside of missions.  I want to be able to break into a multitude of places and search for things to steal.  I want to break into office buildings and search through peoples' desks.  I want to break into peoples' homes and run the risk of being shot or attacked by a dog.  I want tons of places to find useful items.  I want proper stealth play so I can sneak around and kill security guards. Hell, I'd be happy with a city the size of III's LC if most of the city had widely varied and meaningful interiors that greatly encouraged me to explore them.

I'd sacrifice interiors for a countryside more like Palomino Highlands. Right now, I would rather have more interiors as opposed to that small desert and unsecluded western area.
