Not a complete list but just a few thoughts that permeate my head when I play or don't.

Yoga out / Poker in

chrome paint job out / chrome wheels in

cheaters out / custom preferences and named lobbies in

non stop pop fm [get it the fvck] out / SF-UR in

colored smoke tires out & musical horns while your at it out / hydraulics in

gta v car handling.dat out / gta iv car handling.dat in

interiors for fvcks sake where are they?!

and also take your stupid beach bum vehicles, shove them all up the ass of whoever's idea that was and give us the Dukes, Turismo, or really anything else that isn't that stupid Canis Kalahari.

I think I'm a minority when it comes to this, but I really didn't feel any need for such a detailed ocean floor. I think they should of scrapped that idea and focus more on the interiors. If they did that we could of had casinos and śhit.

I also think more mini games would of been fun, like maybe ice-hockey I'm sure Trevor would love that.

And last but certainly not least.. There should of been more missions, especially dive there is 3 protags. But all the bítches complained about it in IV which sucks because it is way to short now.

I agree.

The S&F missions don't feel like full on missions, but extended "character" encounters to me. This game, storywise, lacks what all GTAs have - the mission/story threads and arcs. In IV everything tied together but it felt very full, story-wise. V it feels, well rushed, and like R* thought we'd get bored or something.

Setting the S&F etc aside, the main storymissions are mostly connected to the heists. One mission is picking up a car - how is this a main mission? R* said they ditched all of the "boring" missions where you drive from A to B (really? that's like ditching races in Gran Turismo), another buying masks. These are not missions but actions. Preperations, yet the game counts them as missions?

Many have said it but Lemar - him and Franklin had a LOT of potential for a storyline, but there is next to none. You can see there's something there but i think there's like 5 missions that fall into that story. In III, VC, SA and IV there'd be a lot more, and more story behind it, and most likely lead to something - either a big moment or a new "boss" - and i think this is the problem. Rockstar also said that in V you "work for yourself" - but do you really? Most of the game is being a bitch for the FIB, and half of the heists have no payoff. You steal the cars for weston and get nothing.

It honestly feels like R* took everything that was great in GTA and threw it out of the window. V's still a great game and has some epic moments in and indeed some epic missions, (i have to say this for the fanboys because i really don't want to make a child cry)

The thing about the "main" missions is, because there's three protags, you can divide the total by three - 129 as Themasterfocker said. That would be 43 missions per character - less than RDR, and more than each EFLC episode.
Now take away six from that, which is the heists, and they have at least 2 "prep" missions - so let's take away 18 for that - that leaves 25 missions.

In other words, each character's "story" is about the length of EFLC DLCs. Added together it's about 70 missions inc. S&F - all three together is less than Niko's entire adventure or CJ's (i can't remember the exact amount but I'm pretty sure it's more) - and perhaps thats why IV feels to many like the bigger game - yes, IV had more "boring" missions, but it carried these out with character that very few games have. I hate to say it but most - most, not all - of the people that say IV's boring are most likely kids who can't appreciate character or story, and just want to run around shooting people. That's where V falls flat to me, and i feel that given Rockstar's past games and the sheer quality they've been delivering, V is way below their standard - and THAT i feel is inexcusable. Not to the point where I'll cry about it and call them c*nts, but I think they can do better. Then again, that might be down to three things: 1 - technical limitations; 2 - they tried to go too big; 3 - they simply did not have time to create so much to such a high quality. Ditch the ocean floor concept - it's cool, but not needed imo - ditch Yoga (which despite what I said before, I not see as pointless and annoying, and a waste of space), cut down the map by 50%, have it only LS and they could have packed it with more than any other game ever. But in this day and age, quality is not enough. It's size. As a culture we're obsessed with stature and aesthetics, and shamefully, most don't give a sh*t about substance. I sense R* listened to some "fans" who complained about this or that, and thus messed things up.

I enjoyed the ocean, but they went waaayyyy overboard with it. Maybe it shouldn't have been so detailed. I think they should have used more resources on other things. It's a waste considering it's so damn much area to cover with only two extremely slow ways to explore it. But this was my first game with underwater exploration, and it was a blast.

Just played and lost the worst recover a car job ever.  Every time I caught up the stolen car and forced it to stop the damn thing teleported away and I was left with 2 or 3 stars.

Worst part was it was the game AI controlling the stolen car, so not even a hack.

But meh, all good - games fun as heck.

The game needs text chatting.  plug in a KB if you can't type fast enough.

The noise of the crappy headsets I can't take.  Always broadcasting.  ugh.

Slippery cars cheat, but no Carmageddon cheat? Come on, that was popular as sh*t in IV.

That was a mod but still a cheat like that would have been really nice

Rock star really don't care what their community really thinks but if it wasn't for us there wouldn't be a rock star or a GTA game they need to realize that if it wasn't for us they would not have the company that they have. All they are doing is selling out .

Maybe they could tone back the nagging phone calls for missions from the NPC's.  Every half a minute Simeon is calling.  There are times I just want to work on my stats and don't want to fart around with the NPC's.  The constant nagging is just irritating.  Sure the ring tone can be shut off; which is very nice.  Seems the call stop when the phone menu is open.

Meh, still a minor thing.

love the game.  Fine job with it.

HUGE GRIPE:  Simeon is ALWAYS in the same spot.  anyone heading out to that corner everyone on the map knows what it's for!!!!

Swimming is very strength/stamina/lung capacity related, so why doesn't strength go up when doing this activity?

I know it was, but the reason I mentioned the Slippery Cars cheat is because it would have been incredibly easy to do. All Carmageddon did was change the wheel friction to -1. I assume Slippery Cars cheat does something incredibly similar to make the cars drive like they're on ice. Carmageddon was really popular, and I'm just surprised that didn't get a cheat but slippery cars did.

How they can draw the exterior for Bahama Mamas (nightclub), put bouncers and a queue of people outside the door and NOT have an interior there is no excuse for!

Also:

No excuse for not putting vigilante/police computer missions in - this was a massive letdown for me

No excuse for such a poor property system - I buy a property and I can't even f*cking go inside? I buy a marijuana store and can't even drug deal in free roam? I wanted to be able to properly run my properties, kick people out of nightclubs, control entry fees, etc which all had an impact on my earnings - not: oh well now the cabs you never use are free, gee, thanks!

No excuse for having a casino that don't open, what is it for show? Or just to tease us about how disappointing this over-hyped game turned out to be?

No excuse for not being able to do heists in free roam was a massive pisstake as well! They portrayed in pre-release as if we would be able to do heists whenever we wanted.

Nightclubs there should be no reason why they can't add nightclubs.

There should more food markets than 24/7

And yoga is related to the storyline...

Most of the game is being a bitch for the FIB, and half of the heists have no payoff. You steal the cars for weston and get nothing.

That's one of the problems I had with this game.  When I play a game, I want to enjoy playing as the character.  However, there are many moments when I just don't really like who I'm playing as and what I'm doing.

Michael is a weasel who betrayed his crew.  Trevor is completely overboard - the sexual bullying, the cannibalism, killing people who didn't deserve it (Wade's friends).

I'm playing as someone I don't really like and then I get to be someone's bitch and work for no pay.  :/

Exactly, I wish there were more heists with bigger payoffs, I feel like, next to the "big score", the only other big pay off was the jewel store one. All the other heists gave chump change.

the ocean floor is almost completely pointless, so many better things to put in a game than that.

The missing cars from IV and EFLC i want the pmp 600, super drop diamond, tampa, old blista compact, merit etc

there is no vigilante side missions or paramedic side missions or stuff like that, stuff i did on san andreas.

no casinos or gambling! seriously they had a good nightclub system in tbogt and then just decide to leave it out

the jumbo jet is available in SP but no andromada cargo plane, the 737 jets you see around you, or that cool plane from tbogt's last mission

lack of weaponry such as revolvers, or semi auto snipers

I completely agree with 99% of this thread aside from the R* fanboys who probably started really late.  I've reached my likes quota in this thread alone for just today.  The bad in this game just heavily outweighs any good there is.

It feels like they did sell out, when I have fond memories from RDR and San Andreas on PS2.  Here, I have nothing but frustration build up to where I curse R* out loud and it makes me want to smash my controller.

They went for quantity instead of quality.  They could have made the map 30% smaller with two main areas, Los Santos itself then a vast desert out in Blaine County with another smaller more developed city.  We could have done without Paleto Bay or the ocean floor, we could have had more interiors with more things to do.

Instead we have a huge EMPTY map with nothing to freaking do, it's pathetic.  The stealth in this game is a joke, they have no idea how much it means to be sneaky as a criminal.  The game itself is just not criminally oriented enough.

So many things are missing in this game, its just not funny.  From crouching, home invasions from SA (we could have mansion invasions), to poker to hydraulics, to nightclubs, drug dealing mini-game, to fully realized HEISTS (not just confined to banks), to the freakin' storyline being anticlimactic.  They forgot the things that criminals actually do on their downtime, instead they gave us golf and f*cking tennis.  It's pathetic.  They should have kept it simple and kept it G.  That's all they had to do.

I hope someone important at R* reads this thread and somehow they can save this game from the hole they've dug themselves with the REAL hardcore GTA fans who know this game has many flaws.  They said themselves they can take stuff out that the people don't touch and add stuff in, DLC or otherwise.  They need to save this game from the depths of sh*t its in.

Also for keeping the car running, it's stupid, punch the air next to the car then get in while holding down the gas... once it turns on get out and the car will remain running.  You have to be in a state of alertness or some bullsh*t.

Anyways, the game could have been legendary.  So much potential wasted, history will remember this game as not deserving of it's premature accolades.  They should feel ashamed of themselves for selling out and accepting any awards for this sham of a game as it would just be disrespectful to the real fans.

This is sincerely coming from a fan who started on GTA 2 on the PSone.

P.S. Ski-masks are missing online, fix online.  Lockpicking cars online as well, it sucks breaking the glass every single time as our characters are supposed to be "professional" car thieves.  The weapon wheel is definitely unrealistic as people pull out all kinds of weapons out of their ass.  Making this all just a funny episode of Looney Toons.

Cringe worthy op. But nahhhh it's just a number. Singeplayer was alright and it was never called the "perfect gaming experience ever", y'all overhyped the game and yall just need to learn to play other games instead of play one and nitpick the hell out of it tbh.

You call every thread cringe worthy, did you notice that? Single player was class and lived up to the hype.

Nightclubs? There is an excuse, there is nothing related to them.

Fast food? There are 24/7 markets all around that you can rob and buy food at.

And yoga is related to the storyline...

Could you imagine how unfocused and empty the game would be if they'd done that? Going for a map as large as it is has made i bad enough!! That or we'd revert to SA's graphics (which were a huge step backward in quality) and in this day and age that's not an option.

Well they can at least put in a crouch for stealth mode hopefully?  They did it with a patch for RDR from what I heard.

I was seriously disappointed the first time I hit the stealth mode button with Franklin going into Michael's mansion.  It pissed me off when he didn't crouch.
