Weapon Coronas

What is it?
Rockstar decided to remove the coronas from dropped weapons when San Andreas came around, it was a nice feature in III/VC that gave the game atmosphere. This mod adds coronas to weapons similar to III/VC, although not perfect, I think it suits the game and looks pretty good. Hey, it's better than not releasing it at all!

Download:
GTAGarage
GTAinside
Google Drive

Installation:
Download Mod Loader and drag and drop the "Corona Weapons" folder to the Mod Loader folder.

Makes searching for hidden weapons around the map much easier.

Can these coronas be made in ASI/CLEO so that they work no matter of DFFs?

Does this even include a setting file to change color, size, offset, shape, or axis it spins around?

Thought so. 1/1 would not use.

I guess TJGM added these effects to the .DFFs using DK's 2dfx tool, so yeah, no settings file.

I like the idea though and I tryed the mod. The effect is a little bit 'flashy' (really just a little bit).. Also I'm using some custom weapon models so I'd prefer a script too but that would be a totally different way of realizing this mod.

1/1 is a good thing. God dammit Stiffy. ;-;

EDIT: Also the flashing was intentional. It looked pretty bad without it.

Yeah, but that's like, your opinion, man. I mean... It's only 1/1. It could mean it's 5/5. But it can also be like, 10/10, which is better. Or 6/10.

Unsure if correcting by posting an actual "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man." video or actually stating that..

Mysteries of life.

Just a heads up, when throwing grenades/molotovs/etc. the corona still remains on the thrown object. I assume that was either an oversight or just something that's unavoidable. Other than that, it's great. It would be cool if you could add some coronas to police bribes and armor as well.

It should be compatible. I highly doubt this mod is causing a crash, unless you're doing something really wrong.

Nice it adds a little more color to the game, do you plan on doing it for the armor/health pickups?

This conflicts with sun haze particles, it turns them into circles when in view

Looks fine to me.. this is with the mod installed too.

EDIT: Okay, ignore that I see that problem. It only sometimes happens though and only for a second, not a big issue if you ask me. I made this mod on an AMD card so I didn't have the flares to begin with, probably wouldn't have released it if I had known. :p

I would like to use your mod, but because it flickers between circle flares and normal flares so quick it becomes a bit annoying. You don't have to be right next to a weapon to see it either :(

@Up

These circle flares look way better than the default flare :blink: .

If that can be kept somehow, would be really nice.

Your mod is very neat . It fits perfectly to the game's atmosphere and also spices up the boring weapons pickups.

But if you really want to shake down the house,try making the coronas slower and the colors lighter.

I agree, they do look really nice :D but not on the screen long enough for me to enjoy it

Well that sun flare bug, mentioned above, gets really annoying in the heat of action. It is SO easy to confuse bugged sun flare with some actual pickup  :panic:

I made this mod on an AMD card so I didn't have the flares to begin with, probably wouldn't have released it if I had known.  :p

Would you be so kind to fix that ? This mod is too nice to be abandoned with that tiny damn bug :(  Please leave a comment if the fix is impossible  :D
