making weapons in zmodeler2

hi everyone!

i'm kinda new here,and i need the help of u ,professional modders. i wanted to make a weapon model inzmodeler2(zmodeler 2.0.8).but the problem is that i can't find any toturials to make a weapon:only toturials available for making cars.i know how to make simple models and join them in zmodeler and export them.but i don't know how to make tools and swords and all that.

i have the following tools:

GMAX

>ZMODELER 2

>TXD BUILDER

>TXD WORKSHOP

>BLENDER.(2.69)

 

 

i actually need help to make a weapon mod for vc in zmodeler2.

i'm sorry if i am annoying with my silly problem,but ,please help!

please,anyone ,please!!!

It's simple if you want make it average quality, and time-eating when you want it HQ.
Anyways use standard weapon as example.

Actually i needed some instructional help to make the 3d curves as you have in the knife,katana ,colt python and hammer . also if i need to make a guitar ,for instance, how would i start with the fat body (The part with strings,dont know what it is called) .and one more question, how can i make the model look decent,as whenever i assign an image ,it gets repeated and i cant make the different portions have different parts of the same image,so a little help about that would be appreciated .sorry i asked too much. nd thanx keejay

So, you need help in modeling, not making weapon.
As first try get some free 3d models from web, and make them weapons.

Well ,thanks again keejay,i found some cool weapon models in .3ds format .but my trouble is that when i texture a model with a pic ,it gets repeated and i cant assign any particular portion of the pic to a specific face. also,can i colour any faces,if yes,then how?

i had made it using cylinder tool and assigned it a texture of a metal .you should understand what i mean if you check the mod.i needed to ask whether i could paint the faces without adding anything in texture browser.and, can i assign the faces different parts of a texture ,just like you have in the golf-stick???

Detach some polygons and remap them from different viewports?

Rude? I don't think. I used to see people acting like d*cks.

Well, remap.

Here we got a mesh (cone, for this time)

To detach some polygons, we need to get in "Polygon mode"

Then, with "Select" section tools (try some of them, I'm mostly using Quadr one) select some polygons (red dots)

Switch on "Selected Mode" (SPACE), and go to Modify>Submesh>Detach. Left click on model. Now we have two individual models.

I think that you know how to add texture to material. There are those two models, with one texture.

Go to Surface>Mapping>Edit UV, then click on model you want to remap.

Use red one, to edit existing map (pay attention on what's ticked, the two first should be checked, not first and last), or blue one, to make new map (from the view that you clicked on.
I'll do second option.

Well, that's what remapping is all about. You can edit existing mesh, to fit the texture you want.
