As most of you probably know, GTA V has quite a few audio settings that can be configured.
There is SFX Volume, Music Volume, Dialogue Boost etc.

Last two options are Front Speaker Setup and Rear Speaker Setup.
Front Speaker has options - wide, medium and narrow.
Rear Speaker has options - rear, medium, side.

Does anyone know in more detail how each option affects sound & music? Or does it have any effect at all, for example, with 2.0 or 2.1 speaker setups?

it should not affect you if you use 2.1  but if you use 5.1  or 7.1 then it increases the audio field to match where your speakers are. so if you have a big room and your speakers are far apart then it adjusts the audio to make you feel like you are in the game world.
