Go a new Internet connection set up over the last day or so. Got it all running semi-smoothly now it would seem. I was wondering how many Mbps one would need for Online gameplay on say PS3. Im only getting say 72.2mbps signal strength. It sorta works. Any tips guys?

You're getting 72mbps from your ISP and it only sorta works?

I think you need to either double check what you're talking about or looking at or something.

It should only take about 5mbps or so to be able to play most games easily

Yeah Ive never had too set up my own Internet connection. Bit weird I know. So I dont have great depth of knowledge on what Gta and other Online games require speedwise from a PS3. But cheers anyways mate.

Bit confused... ADSL2+ has a theoretical max of 24Mbps...  are you sure you're measuring the right thing?  Try going to one of the internet speedtest sites through your PS3 browser and see what that reports...

Yeah Ive never set up a network before myself and I guess someone else hooked up the old PS3 that was my computer signal strength. PS3 all good now compared too before. The Download speed. 1.1mbps Upload speed 183kbps. Bloke came today and fixed her up I guess. Speeds are now 9mbps Download and 1.1mbps upload. Seems a lot better. Cant wait too learn how too use the capture card etc i bought. I wont find that hard too set up at all..... lol

That sounds better.  9meg on an ADSL2+ is the sort of speed I would expect.

Glad its sorted :-)
