So you mean IGN,CVG and Gamespot and other reviewers/critics are Fanboys? plus there are sources and references in every wikipedia pages. If you think so,search this"Video Game Clones".I dont want to start linking videos and articles, afterall it about RDR and the 5th Installment of GTA not the entire series.plus there isnt term such as "Saints Row Clones" or "Assassins Creed Clones" because those two Franchises didnt Popularise anything or exist until 2006 and 2007.

Dude, do you even know what "Popularized" or "Revolutionized" mean?

Seems like you're just picking those words off the web.

And are you saying Assassins Creed is a GTA clone? My God. You are LOST.

Whoops! Double post, sorry.

OT: Red Dead Redemption's map and especially the countryside was not only better texture-wise, it was also much better mapped and proportioned. RDR's countryside was dotted with proper believable Flora and Fauna. Whereas GTA V's countryside feels more like the run down set of a low budget flick, with the occasional astray deer and/or mountain lion popping its head in. Rush job, parody... ?

Couldn't have put it better myself. It does feel lacking compared to RDR's wilderness. That said, it's difficult to compare the two games, what with the different era's etc

Ofc. RDR's vegetation will beat V's by miles, RDR is ment to be set in the wild west when it was about to die. There are still spots that mankind hasnt touched and technology wasn really avanced back then.

However both of them are good games, I dont think RDR is better than GTA V nor that GTA V is better than it. They're both great at the same level.

That is pretty much what I was thinking, and then I played RDR again after GTA V... lol. it was so much funner. and I specifically remeber not caring about the missions working for the feds in RDR, but GTA was like wtf... why dont these 3 criminal masterminds just take care of it already....

I think what honestly made me like RDR, was the f*cked up ending that almost landed my controller in my TV. I was so pissed, and so happy that his son took matters into his own hands. I just knew there would be a next Red Dead and have been looking for it ever since.

GTA's ending was predictable, and if you chose anything other than "c" you were not paying attention to the story. GTA has given people too many options to be the troll, that guy, the asshole. and everyones gameplay experience is an opinion based fact, at least when talking about it here... They need to tone down the online drama and stick to GTA. That is truly why RDR was so great. so much SP dlc, and a focused gameplay.

The only way I will play GTA V again, is if it comes out on next gen, and that is only to compare the differences in graphics and mechanics with the new consoles. Online died for me after 1.07 or 1.06, so its single player only for the next gen effect.

R* San Diego (the main developers of RDR) don't typically make PC games.

I like RDR a little more in terms it seemed everything you did had/has impact on your character. The good - bad rank, for me was fun feature that I liked and when wanted you got a bounty on your head.
GTA5, is totally different and would not make sense to have a good - bad system for each character or "LS MOST WANTED" type bounty. I just didn't see the point in the Street robbing when you return money or not? It didn't effect anything. I think RDR had more ways for you to use weapons, potions and whatever else. GTA5, had to also put a lot effort into cars and other designs which if you look at RDR it had same horses and different colours? Not much went into that or the same wagons so maybe RDR could fit more into it's game as it didn't really have much things taking up space or detail like GTA5 did with cars, ocean, the city and desert. Planes and boats, so I like both for what they offer I just hope GTA5 opens that casino or some buildings. That's just my thing I want, RDR didn't have many things open or much detail used/needed for interiors, so again more space I guess RDR had to use for other areas, maybe the landscape? Dunno.

Yeah I feel the same. It's one of the most illogical things about GTA V IMO. I never give the money back so I'm not sure what R* were trying to achieve with these events.

It just seems odd to play the hero when we spend the majority of the game robbing/killing anyway and like you said it doesn't affect anything so what's the point?

They're about on par with each other. I think GTA V has more replay value but RDR had more true effort and heart put into it.

I guess that the lack of vegetation in the wilderness of GTA V compared to what's in Red Dead Redemption, is due to hardware limitations. However, GTA V wins over RDR in lighting and shadows domain, in addition to the more realistic mountainous structures. I can't go over the feeling of being out there alone in the wilderness, or of having the sensation of wilderness exploration and being lost, because the two games happen to take place in two different eras with very different themes and surroundings.

as big as GTA V's map is, you can't help but feeling like it's habitats are too small. I never felt (even doing the 5 mile kifflom walk) like I was actually walking 5 miles in a desert... you literally have to turn around if you are going down a straight path just to stay in the desert.

I grew up in SoCal. There should be more desert and it should have been really immersive, like RDR. there are no dunes, and the whole desert feels like a trailer park or landfill.

Good point with the time difference though. But I still believe the 360/ps3 GTA V was designed to fit specifically for those consoles. With over 10gb of storage on GTA V, it just seems fitting that there will be a next gen, and show us what GTA V really has to offer in terms of graphics.

One thing I really hated about the wildlife and weather in GTA V, is once you go to online, its pretty vanilla.

Hold up a second? Did you just say you didn't finish the game?

Your opinion is now invalid until the game is finish. How can you judge the full game if you haven't beat the game yet?

I'm playing Bioshock Infinite right now and haven't beat it. I can't judge the game until I beat it. You need the full experience. Don't use the BS excuse saying you watched it. Watching and playing a game is different.

For once I agree with redx. You can't pass judgement until you finish a game.

However, I also disagree with him. You can get pretty much the same feeling by watching a playthrough of the game (Especially if it's a cinematic game).

No one can play every game. Everyone can watch every game though.

pilscy: They're not in the game, will never be in the game (SP), and were never gonna be in the game. Why were you expecting them?

RDR is a slower pace game than all the other Rockstar games. Some missions are boring and hard. ( RDR Beginning Mission Spoiler )  Hoarding the cows was my least favorite mission. ( End of Spoiler )

@ Master So your telling me with a game like Outlast you get the same experience playing it as you do watching it?

If you don't know what outlast is then here's a video:

Here's a video of a Let's play ( TheRadBrad ) Episode 1:

I did play San Andreas. However, GTA V isn't GTA San Andreas.

Idgaf if rockstar didnt say anything about it...

Well, you should. R* literally said Los Santos only. No other cities. If you were expecting them, it's your own fault.

Redx:

I said 'pretty much' the same feeling. All games are different. You could get the same feel as playing the game by watching it with games such as TLoU and Bioshock Infinite (Yes, I have both watched and played both games fully, although Bioshock Infinite is more watchable). Most games that are story-driven are as watchable as they are playable, because their gameplay usually lacks.

Of course not all games are gonna fit into that. For example, you won't feel the tense atmosphere of exploring if you're watching, instead of playing, Dead Island gameplay, but that's all you're missing on. You're still getting pretty much everything else.

You're never gonna get the 100% full experience from playing if you watch, but you'll be able to get most of what you want/need, especially if you're forming an opinion.

You must be one of the dumbest people on here if you didn't understand what the It isn't HD lol meant.

You must be the little kid in here cause you're the one calling people what you are. A immature teen. You know how I know this. When ever a kid gets mad online they call someone else a kid. Plus wiki isn't a fact so try again.

When I rented Saints Row IV I only played it for a couple of hours and deemed it to be a piece of sh*t.

In any case it's still better than someone judging a game they've never played before. At least he has.

@Redx
OMG why do people always think Chinatown Wars isnt an HD Era Game, why? it uses the HD Era LC so it considered an HD Era game,it has an evolve GTA 4-esque Wanted Level so yeah it is.and what do you mean a Series Wiki isnt fact? every Game Franchises have a Wiki and it controlled by the Fans.GTA Wiki is the most trusted place for this Legendary Franchise History.Same goes for Tekken Wiki or Gearspedia or TLoU Wiki or COD Wiki etc.It an Holy Bible for each Franchises.
