Looking thru nominated maps for potential pitfalls pre-review.

Tongva Touge looks like it has very poor placement. You have far too few. It's well worth having a read of the Checkpoint Placement Guide, seriously, it will mean a lack of approval if your race doesn't comply with the required basics.

Scouring the Projects and Maze Bank Enduro. Nothing major, your placement looks pretty good. I'd have to run them to be sure but it looks to me like you have a few too many. For example, CPs 18 & 10 on MBE, I used 1 there. StP looks more guilty imo. If you have sound reasoning then by all means leave them alone and I'll test them as they stand. On the other hand, bear it in mind next time you race them yourself.

Escape From L.S. Could you tell me what separates this from a standard burn up the freeway?

Criminal Records 2. I can certainly see where Stronk is coming from in his review and I'm not so inclined to review it after reading his. I appreciate your idea but more laps of the prison don't particularly appeal to me and I imagine to others as well.

Ok, put Tongva Touge on hold until I have sorted it out.

Don't worry, you've got plenty of time, I can't see me running a new test list till the end of the week at the very earliest, more likely it'll be the wknd.

Please don't judge me by criminal records 2. Lol if you read it through even I had to admit it was a long shot being to the judges taste.

I'm talking about my Down the Drain race, which Stronktank liked and asked me to improve. I followed his tips and came up with this: http://rsg.ms/1qghDWF

Escape From L.S.[size=4] Could you tell me what separates this from a standard burn up the highway

You got me there.
I wanted a long gta style course for maximum carnage. I think I have to change the gta pick ups so they are more equal to all drivers.

I would have rather you judge the other course I submitted "Picture Perfect Drive" https://www.google.c...umTAU1OrKEYQ5w. Which I spent more time on then escape from ls.

@Flukey. No worries, I did remember your post so I saw where you were coming from, your other is in my next list.

@GTAMB. Ok, I'll review it as a GTA race, since its not meant as standard one it does change the emphasis. Your other one is in my list too.

Well I ran Power to the Gymkhana twice over the weekend, I really can't judge this race as it is not too my liking so I feel it would be unfair, as the race as a whole, was crafted well, CP's all bar 1 in right place all props were neat and had a use.

apologies but I did not enjoy this race purely for personal taste reasons not the actual build.

So.......... Approved for workmanship, but unapproved for route/race = Non vote.   Sorry Green Reign

There should be a gymkhana category, or at least a technical category. I think for what it is, and the people that like those types of tracks, it's good. I've since created another gymkhana race that's even more challenging, stronktank has already played it. I say it like that because with gymkhana, you're racing against the track more so than each other.

Quick question. now that I have four approved, does that mean I can nominate my final four races together, or is it still just two at a time (all four races do actually fit well together too as they are different configurations of one of my approved tracks). Cheers

2 at a time mate, or we'll be overrun, lol. Keeps it fairer for other people in the queue.

Here's a fresh link.

It is looking a lot better, the line follows the road a lot more which normally means you've got it about right. I can see a couple that may be unnecessary but they don't look to be in positions where they'll cause any problems. There is possibly 1 or 2 that might not be optimally placed but again, they look functional and the road is always quite clear.

There is one that looks like it needs a re-edit, CP15. Here's a pic that should show what I'm thinking. Black for remove, red for add.

a1_zps243f4b11.png

Obviously that's just going from a very limited view so you'd need to run it yourself to see if it's applicable at all. It could be that having 2 on that corner at CP16 won't be right, if not then 16 would need to be moved back to a position between where it is now and my 2nd red dot. Again, you'll have to play with it yourself and see what you think.

I prefer to keep the upper black dot because that is the most common wreck spot and if people spawn behind the blind curve they'd run the risk of wiping out again, rather than respawning more or less on top of the obstacle so they can drive through it slowly.  I've sort of compromised at that section after tweaking all the checkpoints.  Other than that I think it's pretty good.  Thanks again.

Your probably right here :)

Deserves its own category and probably its own Judge ! hence my Non Vote, like I said the race was well made but not my cup of tea to speak, this doesn't mean in any way it was a bad race.

Los Santos GP Inner Loop - http://rsg.ms/R2F4Zi - Supers - Variation of the already approved Los Santos Grand Prix. Contains all the tighter twisting corners of the main circuit.

Los Santos GP Outer Loop - http://rsg.ms/R2F5MT - Supers - Variation of the already approved Los Santos Grand Prix. Contains all the faster, flowing corners of the main circuit.

@GreenReign: I understand you want a technical category but it's so subjective,... Some of the approved races are really technical, but then again, if I rate it subjectively the 'technical' category would overflow. As in my opinion there are so many ways of technicality. It's not because you have to jump through containers or make 180 degree turns races gets technical. A street GP race can be perfectly technical as well imo.
And by the way your Brain Stew race wasn't my thing man. There were some good parts but as a totality this isn't a race to play with multiple players as a clean race is nearly impossible imo. As you said it's better played solo. Then there is the roof part: just put jumps over the whole lenght of the wall and put medium jumps instead of small ones?

Revisited

Picture Perfect Drive http://rsg.ms/QDIYrj
+ The propping at the natural jump is way better
+ Came to be a good motorcycle race
- + Pull cp 10 back a little as I had problems with the turn (missed that cp twice without going off the hill) and there could be one more cp in the middle between cp 15/16 imo
+ + + Approved!

Down the Drain 2 http://rsg.ms/QFKkSA
+ Big improvement on the last time I tested
- + Cp placement: Cp 13/14 too close, you can just delete cp 13 imo. Cp 17 is way better. Though that's why you had to pull cp 8 out of the drain. It's ok like that. Maybe try to pull cp 17 even more into the turn so cp 8 can go just up the border of the drain? The turn on the bridge is also way better though the left cp on the bridge can be moved to the right a bit (right next to the bushes).
- + The finish line is still not in a good place imo. Finish lines work best at the end of a straight long part imo. So maybe move it halfway the first drain?
? One more thing is the dirt tracks on the left and right. Which are a good option for racing without the jumps and makes it a good off-road track. Maybe add this to the description that it's possible to take the side-tracks? That way it's easier to take the 180 turn in a good flow too.
+ Good race though but needs some more tweaking. Keep testing it with other players and follow them to see where the flaws are.

Mobius Strip http://rsg.ms/1j6EWBa
+ Way better cp placement
- + Still the staircase and wall on the left at cp 15 can be propped better imo. Maybe instead of the bales use the low concrete walls to fit between the two wall corners (extend the wall) and do the same in front of the staircase so the props guide you through that turn. Slammed against that wall twice.
+ + + Approved but could be tweaked

+ Great description
+ Love what you did with the jumps
+ Great cp placement good propping
+ + + Approved

Replaying this with two/three laps and more people soon

The Race With No Name http://rsg.ms/QIJaFT
+ - Could be two laps
- + Nothing special imo, though good track.
- + Title/description,...? Makes it seem unfinished. Maybe delete the 'writers block' thing and add some description like playing with the lyrics from 'A Horse With No Name'. It's easy to make it into a race thing imo. Too bad the race isn't in the desert though.
+ Ok cp's ok props
... Have to replay with more players for a decent review

Grapeseed Getaway http://rsg.ms/QJEVtR
+  Much better than the old version. Are some good parts, but need to replay to give a decent review.
- + The jumps bother me, but guess that's personal.

Thanks again Stronktank. I've made the changes you mentioned and altered the description so people know they can use the dirt tracks. I think I'm getting there.

This is the resubmitted version: Down the Drain 2 http://rsg.ms/1qrNi7s

Hope you enjoy it :)

I have replaced all the checkpoints, and added a lot to conform to the checkpoint guide.

Just to let you guys in here know that the main Los Santos Grand Prix track has changed very slightly. A few checkpoint changes (actually based on some feedback here and on xbox thread) but the only real change to the layout is from checkpoints 9 to 13 http://rsg.ms/R3lE6K

If you feel the need to re-approve that one feel free to take it down again, or you can have a quick look over it to check the changes aren't "unapproveable". Either way I thought it best to let you guys know. I think Cuz will be happy that the corner cutting around that changed section has now gone ;)

I do have a couple new circuit style tracks. When will I be able to submit them? And since Brain Stew has little chance of getting approved, retract that.

Another personal fave :) Cheers Stronk ...

It appears that maybe people were being kind when voting for a race with no name ! and looks like I also got caught out with not resetting the laps after testing !! always put it to 1 lap when doing small tweaks, default should be 2 so I will amend.

Again thanks for finding time to play, I'll submit one more soon :)

Lol Don. Race With No Name is a decent race so I've always given it a like, I'm much less choosy with that vote....
The CPs are fixed now so I'm happy to say-

The Race With No Name
+++Approved.

Btw. A valid test in the creator is 1 lap regardless of what you set the default on. Just exit test once you cross the line.

Thanks for being so consistent with feedback, Stronk. I am planning to make a few modifications to my air race Break Like the Wind, but am glad you like it otherwise. (The other I submitted, Star Tours got a vote and still hasn't been played by anyone else yet.)

i edited and made improvements to:

Something Sensible http://rsg.ms/QTsL1i

Changes:

*SPOILERS MAY BE IN THE CHANGES*

Something Sensible:

-Now Open to Motorcycles Muscles, Super, Classics, and Coupes

-Default Class is now Sports (Franklin's Buffalo is a sport and you play as Frank in the mission)

-Check Points Upgraded

-Description Changes Slightly

-Due to the Mission, Traffic is on

-Starting Line has been moved to face the 1st Checkpoint

-Just for the mission ending, I recommend playing Don't Come Close by Yeasayer when you complete the race

-The Grid has been changed to a 5x4

Also can you take Bike Trail off the list, i've decided to scrap it and work on a lap race to post here

is it possible to add a replacement race since i deleted Bike Trail after I updated this race ^

RUN TO THE HILLS

Based on some of the feedback I've made some changes to the circuit, switching the default to Supers, removing the props judged unnecessary, thinning out the checkpoints and altering some positions slightly so as to allow more driver freedom.

I'd be interested in some feedback to see if this is all for the better or worse...
