Anyone else play? Or at least watch it on tv?? I just got into it a few months ago and I'm obsessed, I already got a job at a nice golf course and now I'm playing as much as I can taking advantage of free driving range and free rounds. I can hit pretty far, around 250 yards with my driver, and I'm starting to become pretty accurate too so I could be dangerous soon lol.

I've been watching a lot of PGA too, I wanted Rory to win last week but he had a let down on the final day.. also Henrik Stenson looks like the new best golfer, he hits ridiculous shots with great consistency, I wouldn't be surprised if he passes Tiger eventually for #1 spot.

Im going to pick up a pair of clubs and try it out when I move to AZ. Since its one of the main golf hotbeds in the US I thpught I might as well give it a try. I have only played in video games though but it looks like a fun sport.

golf in video games will not prepare you for golf in real life.

golf in real life is one of the most tedious sports on Earth.... if it can even be called a "sport."

Golf is fun as f*ck to play, and boring as sh*t to watch.

I go out a few times a year, but trying to go a bit more this year. I'm good with my Driver but I am horrible with my Irons. Putting is probably a bit below average but once I get out there more I think it will come quick to me.

I'm always a lot better when I am drinking though. Probably a bit more relaxed and not thinking as much.

The key to irons is hitting the bottom of the ball. If you hit the middle your ball won't go up in the air, you have to hit the bottom to pop it up. That's why the pros hit the ground and leave divots a lot of times.

And I didn't play yesterday but I worked and my course had a free keg for everyone, was pretty nice just drank like 7 beers and drove around golf carts while getting paid lol

I am a golfer too. Looking forward to the new season coming too. I have only been out once on the range so far this year. Need to get motivated to get out and get the swing back in shape. Watching The Masters pre-tournament events this week too. Its a great way to get the season going with the first major.

A good "rough rule" for this is a pitching wedge (PW) for 100 metres, and for every extra 10 metres range, add a club, ie 110 metres = 9 iron, 120 metres = 8 iron, ect. Less than 100m use a sand wedge. I'm not going to get into lofts here, but thats a good way to get started.

I've recently started watching golf a lot, and I love it! I'd love to play it myself some time. Most people consider it to be the most boring sport, but I find it interesting.
