Anyone else play? Or at least watch it on tv?? I just got into it a few months ago and I'm obsessed, I already got a job at a nice golf course and now I'm playing as much as I can taking advantage of free driving range and free rounds. I can hit pretty far, around 250 yards with my driver, and I'm starting to become pretty accurate too so I could be dangerous soon lol.

I've been watching a lot of PGA too, I wanted Rory to win last week but he had a let down on the final day.. also Henrik Stenson looks like the new best golfer, he hits ridiculous shots with great consistency, I wouldn't be surprised if he passes Tiger eventually for #1 spot.

Im going to pick up a pair of clubs and try it out when I move to AZ. Since its one of the main golf hotbeds in the US I thpught I might as well give it a try. I have only played in video games though but it looks like a fun sport.

golf in video games will not prepare you for golf in real life.

golf in real life is one of the most tedious sports on Earth.... if it can even be called a "sport."

Golf is fun as f*ck to play, and boring as sh*t to watch.

I go out a few times a year, but trying to go a bit more this year. I'm good with my Driver but I am horrible with my Irons. Putting is probably a bit below average but once I get out there more I think it will come quick to me.

I'm always a lot better when I am drinking though. Probably a bit more relaxed and not thinking as much.

The key to irons is hitting the bottom of the ball. If you hit the middle your ball won't go up in the air, you have to hit the bottom to pop it up. That's why the pros hit the ground and leave divots a lot of times.

And I didn't play yesterday but I worked and my course had a free keg for everyone, was pretty nice just drank like 7 beers and drove around golf carts while getting paid lol

I am a golfer too. Looking forward to the new season coming too. I have only been out once on the range so far this year. Need to get motivated to get out and get the swing back in shape. Watching The Masters pre-tournament events this week too. Its a great way to get the season going with the first major.

I know that, But I never know which Iron to use from what Distance. I need to study up.

A good "rough rule" for this is a pitching wedge (PW) for 100 metres, and for every extra 10 metres range, add a club, ie 110 metres = 9 iron, 120 metres = 8 iron, ect. Less than 100m use a sand wedge. I'm not going to get into lofts here, but thats a good way to get started.

I've recently started watching golf a lot, and I love it! I'd love to play it myself some time. Most people consider it to be the most boring sport, but I find it interesting.

LOL Did you have anymore instances of that?

Anyways, when is Tiger gonna realize it's over? Scored an 85 yesterday, which was his worst in his career. He's just not the same, not even an amateur player could lose to him right now. lol

Yeah U.S open coming up too, It will be interesting to see how he bounces back. Tricky course at Chambers Bay. Scottish Links style. Would be good to see a UK golfer do well :p

Golf seems like the hardest sport to better yourself at. So much skill and accuracy, I commend anyone who plays it.

I do like golf to a certain extent. I just wish I was rich enough to be able to afford to play it.

I watch the Majors at the weekends it can get pretty interesting on Sundays at the back nine, and a few of the other big ones of the year, TPC at Sawgrass for example, and If you think TV golf if boring, the Ryder Cup @Medinah was one of the sporting events of the decade.... but yes, a lot of it is pretty mundane.

Yea, I was flippin to it throughout the day.

But damn, sucks for Dustin Johnson. A 12foot or so eagle putt to win it, missed it. Then like a 5foot birdie to force an 18 hole playoff tomorrow, missed it by inches.

Good on Spieth. Youngest to win the first two majors of the year, since like the 20s.

I'd f*ck Paulina Gretzky if she looked like Marty Feldman, just because she's the great one's daughter.

Anyway, it was a more exciting ending than the rest of the tournament.

Tiger looks like he's done.

Spief is making a case.

Tied for first right now, or was. I think someone just made a birdie to move ahead but we might have another Tiger Wods on our hands, just not with the spiefy name ;)

_______

Second place at -11 going into tomorrow, down by one. Can he do it!?

In other news, what's wrong with Dustin Johnson?? Lol, he had the lead going into today's round at -10. He scored +3, only one to score over par in the top 30 today. His putting game is just terrible in these majors.

Close!

Just can't double bogey and bogey on 17, to where you need a birdie on 18.

Came up close on his 20ft or so birdie putt, about 6 inches.

So close to winning the first 3 majors of the year for Spieth. Like stated above, can't double bogey and then bogey of 17th of the final round.

But look now, the final Major of the year, down by 2 going into the final round. This is the new Woods, just without the catchy name or as I say, a spiethy (spiffy) name. :p

Should've been going for the 4th straight major but damn he's ridiculous.

The Grand-slam is a big ask for someone who is barely 3 years a pro and is only just old enough to buy a beer. But seriously its a hell of a year for him, Majors (W,W,4,2) Player of the year, 1500 point advantage in the Fed-ex cup. Tour championship in a couple of weeks. Worth noting he only has one 2015 tour win though. Jason Day for example has 3 tour wins AND a Major, and Rory had a few wins early in the year before he injured himself. Might be an interesting season finale.

edit:

I think I read an out of date article for the fed-ex cup standings, he's actually second.

Yea - http://www.pgatour.c...-standings.html

He hasn't played well in the playoffs, missed both first cuts. Not good way to try to win that $10m

I play every now and then. When I first played I thought it would be easy but that wasn't the case. I will say that playing golf has helped me to get fit and it allows me to relieve stress. Need to work on my basics more and buy a new driver.

Its one of my favorite days of the golfing calender. The 2016 Augusta Masters starts tomorrow.

I quite like the build up to the tournament, the par 3 contest starts in about an hour. I'll have that on while I am making some dinner later. The course looks in great shape, I hope its a good tournament.

Looks like Spieth is back at it again, (-7) -5 lead over second thru 9.

Also, wtf, 3 hole-in-ones at the 16th today?? lol

____

Well, I guess I jinxed it. lol

After I said that, he dropped 6 shots on the 10(+1), 11(+1) and 12th(+4) hole.

I'm very pumped to see golf at the olympics this summer.

Definitely going to be recording all the golf coverage.
