Lately I've been playing a lot of survivals since I'm trying to get some cash, and I've had at least 3 or 4 games where it's been 4 players, and 3 of us are actually playing, while the 4th person just sits there and does nothing. It pisses me off, because that player is contributing nothing and if we make it to a high wave, they get the money for it. I've voted to kick him, but it does nothing if my other teammates don't vote. I've also had this happen in some missions too. Has anyone else come across these players?!

Sometimes it has to do where you choose to hide. Sometimes you kill everyone before they make it to that player.

Nope, it's more like that player stands in one place, the entire time, doesn't move an inch, doesn't shoot one time! It's literally like they aren't even at their TV.

It's been been going on for a couple months now. I noticed it first in December when I was slamming through all the survivals on a Saturday morning opening lobbies and inviting randoms and with matchmaking open.

Many times people assume they can get a free ride off of someone else's skill. However if i'm in the survival with only 1 other person or even 2 others and they aren't killing anyone. I walk out and let myself be killed to force their hand. I continue this method if they choose to not fight again on the next round. After 2 waves of dying and letting them scramble to survive it usually forces their hand to play.

I do vote to kick them, but my other teammates don't, which results in him not being kicked.

@WiredMike, that's a good idea! I'll try that next time.

Survivals aren't cost effective at all... You're going to be spending most of that 20 grand on replacing ammo after the match. The only time I'd recommend survivals is if you're a low level and you don't have any good missions yet.

You're one of the first people I've ever seen say that! I've never had a plroblem with replacing ammo, I always just pick it up off the dead bodies, and plus, you have so much it takes a while to get rid of it all. But I'll keep an eye on my ammo/the cost, thanks for the tip. :)

I like to contribute as much as possible however on a certain maps if my two primary spots are taken then I have a third one that doesn't really see much action, so I'm willing to help but if no enemies come my way then I dont get any kills and it seems as if I'm not trying to help.

Well, it depends if you really have enough time to run around before you get back to your hiding spot. Behind the white trailer in Boneyard is probably the best hiding spot of all the survivals.

I always use the portable as cover on that map but I dont just hide there I actually contribute. I find that this is the easiest map to complete survival along with "Processed".

How do you figure that? Maybe if you fail at the them on a low level its not cost effective. At most you are spending 5gs on ammo and making 20gs, a profit of 15gs!! Thats hardly what I would call non cost effective, If you dont waste ammo, you can make good money doing survivals. I know I can make 140k in an hour or so, depending if Im solo or with team mates. Plus you get the added bonus of RP for kills and survival is probably the quickest, easiest money and RP in the game.

@Op, what maps are you playing? If you are playing Boneyard or Sandy Shores, then when the spots are taken theres not much to do. Cept hide and try real hard not to die. Boneyard especially, if you dont have the top corner then you aren't gonna get many kills anyway. Personally I dont care what other players do. If they are in to help, cool. If not, I still get my kills and points plus a bonus for them just being there. In survival they can be good distractions for the AI.

@MadHaTT3r, I usually play whatever, although I try to focus on the ones I haven't beat yet (I've beaten Boneyard, Processed, Del Perro Pier, and Sandy Shores), so I would think there's plently of other hiding spots in the other maps. I totally understand if there's no room for you to hide, but at least try your best, and don't just stand there doing nothing! Try to find some cover, and at least take out as many people as you can. But yes, I understand what you're saying as them being a distraction, that's a good point!

I keep getting this as well. Had somebody do it in Coveted the other night, and again in a mission where you have to assassinate somebody in a vineyard last night. Annoyingly the person last night let me do the whole mission (maybe 10 mins long because it put us the other side of the map at the start) and as soon as it finished he gave it a thumbs up, so was obviously Sat at his TV. Lazy bar steward!

Yeah, there's tons of those lazy scumbags that just sit there and do nothing while you do all the work. I can understand if it's like a one objective mission, because someone always gets there first. If you at least make the effort to do something, you're fine. That dude was probably jacking off to gay porn while you assassinated the guy at the vineyard.

You either fire every round in your RPG and Grenade Launcher or just fire way too many shots per enemy.

That doesn't make sense that you claim "MOST" of the money goes to pay back ammo.

The most I spend on ammo when using my Combat MG & Advanced or Carbine Rifle in survivals is around $2,500 - 3,200 at most. You make $20k off the full 10 waves and its good practice for shooting moving targets.

Regardless of level and even regardless of the money & RP. I just enjoy survivals, they are nice challenge from time to time. Its also pretty cool when fluke shots happen and take out helicopters with 1 or 2 shots of a gun altogether.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but get more people in your survival if your having to use too much ammo. Other players helping can easily make it more cost effective.

I don't understand why anyone spends a single dollar on ammo to complete a survival, there are weapons which spawn throughout the map, plus you can collect what enemies have dropped. Try using a pistol or shotgun, aim for the head, stop allowing the auto aim to do all the work.

If you spend more than $3K on ammo for this, you're doing something way wrong.

So I made sure to look at my ammo before and after a survival. I had full ammo in everything before I went in. I grabbed a Combat MG, which I hadn't unlocked yet, and used that for 90% of the survival. Used a gun (the MG) I did have prior to the survival, and when I went to buy the ammo afterwards, it cost no more than $300. I also used a few grenades/sticky bombs, which resulted in me spending about $2,000 total. Not that bad, considering you're getting $20,000 for each survival, plus whatever money you pick up.

I can do probably three or more missions in the time it takes to complete a survival. Maybe you can solve the ammo problem, but not the time consumption...
