Whats your favorite 6th gen console and game for that console?

(You should list your favorite game for the other consoles if possible.)

It's the PS2. It's not even a matter of opinion and it shouldn't be up for any kind of debate. Just look at the games library of that thing.

PS2 was good but I enjoyed the Gamecube's exclusives more.

PS 2, no contest. The good times when the consoles were actually different, and it wasn't up to a scarce number of exclusives to make the difference.

PS2 for its choice of games but the Xbox was ahead for online play. Dreamcast was good with more unique games, but sadly short lived.

Xbox I thought outranked PS2 for the time. PS2 had better games, but you could burn a cd to the xbox and play the music while you played your game, PS2 could not do this. So Xbox for sure.

Sony has completely curbstomped the competition in every generation bar the portable systems imo. PS1 had the first iterations of some the most iconic games of all time: Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Grand Theft Auto, Tekken, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Medal of Honor, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting. It also had some f*cking amazing first party titles between Crash, Spyro, Twisted Metal, Medieval, and Grand Turismo. The ps2 basically multiplied the quality of titles by a wide margin, introducing even more amazing franchises like Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Socom, Killzone, etc. It was also the generation where some of the PS1 franchises went from "man, this game is awesome" to "holy f*cking sh*t on a sh*t sandwich." GTA III, Resident Evil 4, Grand Turismo 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, Tony Hawk's Underground, and Silent Hill 2 come to mind.

By the time PS3 came out, Sony had some of the best developers in the entire industry working with them, and with that, came the best, most far-reaching exclusives in the generation: from things kids could enjoy like Little Big Planet to things adults can indulge in like God of War 3. Like Western RPGs? Have some Demons Souls or Skyrim. Like your RPGs in a more Japanese format? Have some Ni no Kuni or Final Fantasy. Still can't get over platformers? Grab some Ratchet and Clank games, pick up LBP. Like FPS? Get a hold of Resistance or Killzone. Like epic brawlers? Turn to Heavenly Sword or God of War. Wanna feel like you're playing a movie? Uncharted, Heavy Rain. There's games in Playstation systems for everyone.

The thing with the Xbox and Nintendo systems is that you are basically compromising to leaving out certain types of games with the exception of a very very small library which may or may not be good. Let's say I love me some platformers, so I get a Wii. Now I'm feeling like playing a violent sandbox/FPS... nope, not available here. OK, so let's say I buy an Xbox 360 because I love me some FPS. A year in, I start getting into JRPGs, so I go out and buy all 2 of them that are actually good. And that is the beauty of the Playstation brand: quality and variety go hand in hand. Here's hoping they keep it up with the PS4 and Xbox and Nintendo up their game.

Edit: the f*ck. Some of this is yellow lol

I'll go with the unpopular opinion of the Sega Dreamcast. PS2 is my second though.
Favorite Dreamcast game: Shenmue

Favorite PS2 game: GTA San Andreas, Yakuza or Bully if you want a PS2 exclusive.
Favorite Xbox game: Shenmue 2
Favorite Gamecube game: LoZ Windwaker.

Once the PS4 gets the games out including the exclusives, it will be on par with the PS2 or even better.

1. Gamecube, I loved the controller and the games. Oh how I loved Super smash and LoZ wind waker.

2. Xbox, since it was the first console that generation that I owned and I have over 100 games for it.

3. PS2, never owned one but I like the games for it.

4. I don't even know.. Nobody I knew owned that.

I don't know about that. Back in the PS2 era games were complete and were all focus on Single Player. Nowadays you got games just MP only with millions of DLC ( Cut content ). PS2 is the last true great gaming system.

Best? PS2 without a doubt. There's still gems that I've yet to play. I only got around to Persona 3/4 last summer and it was the craziest nostalgia throwback to the 6th generation of consoles I've ever experienced.

Xbox was good if only because it had games you'd normally only see on the PC. If it wasn't for the original xbox, I would have never played Fable, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, or Jedi Academy. Just for those five (counting Kotor 2) games, it wins so many points in my book. For a console as panned and unloved as the Gamecube seemed to be, it had amazing specs and was generally just awesome. So many good 1st party titles were made like Wind Wake and Super Mario Sunshine while Capcom graced the gamecube with Resident Evil 4 before any other console got it. And that's all without mentioning the sequels to the very first game I ever played: Rogue Squadron. Rogue Squadron 2 remains one of the funnest games I've ever played to this day. Sadly I never had the chance to play the Dreamcast so I can't say much about that.

To me the Playstation 2 is my best 6th gen console. Great times playing the PS2. But I find the Original Xbox and the PS2 equally as good. Still wish gaming was simple nowadays like it was back then.

Man, This isn't even a difficult question to Answer, PS2.

It had all the great games on it and all that jazz.

But that's not to say the other 6th gen consoles were Bad, Xbox and the Gamecube were especially good, with things like Halo and Wind Waker.

PS2, absolutely.

Back then, my hands were small enough for the Dualshock, and too small for the Xbox controller.

Now, it's the other way around :p

I used to have an Xbox, but it never seemed to have the charm that my PS2 did. Which I still have. Never had much experience at all with the Dreamcast or GameCube.

PS2 all the way.

PS2! I also enjoyed SuperSmash Bros and Mario games on the Gamecube. What I liked about the PS2 was Grand Theft Auto. Never had an original Xbox. I liked playing original Xbox games for the Xbox 360 though. It's a shame PS3 slim doesn't have backwards compatibility for the PS2.

But my favorite thing about 6th gen? All the games were complete. No DLCs. It wouldn't be easy to cheat gamers. The game had complete content. Developers weren't as money hungry as they are by releasing tons of DLCs today.

I still have my original limited edition XBOX crystal at the summer house. On rainy days, nothing beats San Andreas on an old, beat up console
