The impression I've been getting from most (I said "most") of the people on this forum who can't enjoy this game and appreciate it for what it is and got bored with it so quickly, are those who rushed through the story, not bothering to take in the finer details, beat the game, refuse to replay it again because the game didn't cater to every single personal requirement they felt they were entitled to, and thus, will not see where all the extra development went when it...

-comes to choosing different heist options

-hearing all the varied conversations with the different associates you choose

-different cutscenes when approaching blips with different protags

-different mission gameplay depending on which protag you approach the blip with (ie the mission where you return to NY)

...among other things. I honestly felt like I was playing a new game on my 2nd playthrough, which is an excellent way of providing the replay value I like in my games. Throw in the fleet of things to do outside of the story, and there's plenty to keep you occupied. Remember all those San Andreas kids who cried about lack of things to spend your money on in IV after you finished the story? Well I may be wrong, but there are quite a few things to purchase in V. I may be wrong though...

But unfortunately, the aforementioned cry babies who didn't get their gang wars or CJ or casino etc, rush through the game once, throw their toys out, and jump straight onto this forum to repeatedly remind us on a daily basis how much the story was too short...Rockster created a lacklustre SP game...R* are lazy...R* don't care about the fans...and on and on...

For the record, I too was slightly miffed at the interiors not being as vast as I had expected, but I simply can't comprehend how this can be a game breaker for some of you guys. I'm personally going to reserve judgement on this aspect until all dlc has been released. Remember how IV's episodes opened up (pun intended) things for us?

:^: 100% this.

As I said before, it's a shame that some people can't enjoy playing this magnificent game.

I know that one person will be like "Yeah, buying masks and suits are fun.". So, I'm just waiting for that person to post and then, I shall strike him.

After getting to a billion dollars in story mode and buying everything I wanted the game became really boring. I can't even play for ten minutes without getting bored and shutting it off. The game came out in september and the haven't delivered us any thing for story mode that will make us come back. All the care about is Online, Online, and Online. They want our money and I'm not giving it to them so they can f*ck off because theirs no way I'm playing this anymore when Infamous comes out.

This is exactly the type I'm talking about right here. Rush through everything at once/demand everything at once. Are you even aware how long it took for IV's SP dlc to release after the original game came out?

This is not some rehashed annual release like 'coll of jooty'. Patience is a virtue my friend.

Most people have played R* titles before and got pretty good at them.

I have a hunch a lot of people blasted through the entire SP campaign in a weekend, never properly taking it all in or appreciating it. That's the entitled generation for you I guess.....

Bsh please i didn't rush through story mode because I work and most certainly beat all the side missons. No I don't know how long GTA 4 dlc came out because I didn't f*cking buy the game. The last game GTA I played was San Andreas and this one looked like it destroyed that. Proved me wrong.

Hell yeah I love this game more and more each day I play it. Just like how SOL feels about IV (:pp), GTA V is now my "GTA of All Time".

It's the new ADHD Call of Duty Generation. Kids are used to speeding through a (shoddy ass) 3 hour SP campaign or just go straight to the twitchy multiplayer after unwrapping the game and playing it as if you were hyped up on Mountain Dew, Red Bull, and crack cocaine at the same time.

Even if it won't make any sense.

Huge Countryside with hardly anything to do out there.

Many basketball courts

Casino and horse racing track

Well thought out gangs ( They can make gang wars easy )

Property to buy ( aka houses that were cut from the game )

Guns ( Flamethrower? )

Can't do nothing with TPI ( Drug wars? )

Small heist that you can do when ever you want in free mode

Able to recruit people like GTA VC. GTA SA, and IV.

These things could easily improve the game and make many people change their minds about this game. If they add 3/4 of this I will change my opinion with this game.

I listed some stuff I wanted.

Like I said before and now there's proof Houses were cut ( Most likely DLC )

Franklin advertise as a gangbanger and his trailer was all about gangs. Did he have 3 or 4 missions with Grovestreet?

Casino ( Really? They have poker, blackjack, and etc.. codes from RDR )

They kept talking about how this game is about the money yet you get more than 90% at the end of the game. ( Not counting Lester's stock missions )

Better guns ( No flamethrower? )

Now the ones I listed that I wish they would add.
TPI ( Drug wars )

Grovestreet gangwars

Recruit anyone.

It simply bugs my mind how CJ can pull a pistol out of his rectum and hand it over to a random rural old lady. As a storywise feature it wouldn't really make a lot of sense, however as a Cheat code it would work.

And safehouses weren't cut from singleplayer, there is literally no proof to that and we don't really know if the house show in the singleplayer trailer was truely singleplayer or part of the online video.

The past couple of days, I have been playing through GTA V, finding all the collectibles, getting 100%, and getting the Solid Gold achievement. The quality of this game really shows that, whether it be random events I have never seen before, or getting gold on a mission by doing something fun. This truly is one of the best games I have ever played and will be playing through the story again on PC, making completely new choices the second time around. :)

I must admit not being able to recruit people or perhaps a better of of putting it calling for backup is kind of a downer. I loved causing mayhem in VC, SA, TLAD and GTA IV with the back up provided.

I think the closest in GTA V is hanging out with the other protagonists as they like to tag along with random chaos, but it would be cool if it was something you could do whenever by ringing up to get a couple of goons to assist you.

Though it would have to be altered to fit in. Since Michael is a movie producer maybe Soloman could send a couple of guards with him or something by ringing him up?

Lamar should be able to send a couple of CGF homies to assist Franklin, however recruiting doesn't make sense as the pedestrian pulls a weapon out of nowhere.

Sons is a shorten way of saying SonofLiberty like Miami was a shorten way to MiamiViceCity.

Why write the whole name out? You don't write Redx165 you either write Redx or Red.

Fanboys is my mistake but still we all get the idea. These errors are nothing cause we all know what the other is saying.

I don't want to get into this again. GTA V isn't better than The Last of Us if it was it would be winning more GOTY awards which I remember some members said GTA V would.

I'm not the fanboy to The Last of Us. I already said I like other games more. I just like TLOU more cause most of 2013 releases wasn't for me.

I even stated I will give GTA V another chance with its DLC which I hardly do for any game.

Nope. Sons isn't a short way of saying SonOfLiberty. It's either SOL, Son or Liberty. I dunno about you but there's no S at the end of the word "Son" in his name. Even he once asked why everyone keeps calling him 'Sons'.

Yeah but see, the word 'Sons' isn't in his name, it's 'SONOfLiberty' not 'SonsOfLiberty.'

Well not me. When I first read your post I was confused as hell.

Good for you then.

I must admit not being able to recruit people or perhaps a better of of putting it calling for backup is kind of a downer. I loved causing mayhem in VC, SA, TLAD and GTA IV with the back up provided.

Yeah, I think that hanging out with all three characters at once is the thing that replaces recruiting gang members. Too bad, people who picked ending A or B won't be able to do that.

Yes, I've been playing it a lot the past couple days after taking a few weeks off from it. I forgot how fun it was! Anyways, right now, V is getting the treatment IV was after it was released. It's probably gonna be this way when VI comes out, people will whine and say V was better, lol. It's a never-ending cycle.

It was a huge thing in my gaming experience... In fact, may just be the biggest.. I aint a big gamer, and I am still on my beginning years (Started gaming like 06 or something, I am still very young) So it was awesome. its still amazing, and it is still impressing me. All I am waiting for now is the SP DLC. As for Online, Yeah I dont hate it but it just ruins what GTA stands for.. I dont play it alot but then again sometimes I do.

I appreciate that this game has had more staying power than many Xbox 360 games I've recently played - mainly through the online portion of the game. The game looks damn nice, and the story mode (which I'm 55 or 60% of the way through (once GTA online was released that's where I've been spending all my time)) as far as I've made it seems pretty damn solid. But those things I appreciated pretty much right away. I haven't gained more appreciation for this game as time has gone on, though.

If anything, I continue to have less appreciation for the game all because of the online aspect of it. It's very redundant, just like every game. Maybe that shouldn't necessarily be a knock on the game then, huh? But this is GTA V and all the previews whether it be video or article pointed to the online portion being amazing. At first it was good. Much better than IV IMO because there wasn't much you could do with your buddies cooperatively online except start fights with the cops. (we're not real big on battling other real people) So the mission aspect of the game is nice - but lacking. Same missions over and over and most of them pay sh*t. You dump any kind of real time into the game, which I'm assuming R* wants you to do and I'd wager most everyone on this forum has done and you wind up with the classic wash, rinse and repeat.

The other problem is the things R* is working on fixing, such as "cheaters". Who gives a sh*t about cheaters? Why not work on making the game more appealing to everyone, like heists? Heists were the one aspect of the online mode I was most looking forward to... And here I/we continue to wait for the heists to be released. And that's just one example, but it's my biggest complaint. As far as the missions go, I don't know what my buddy and I expected exactly but it sure wasn't what we got as far as setting a mission up and inviting. We had kind of assumed the missions would actually mean something to us and by doing a mission would lead to something else. Kind of like a dumbed down co-op story mode. But that certainly wasn't the case.

GTA V does a lot of things right and if/when heists are available, the stock market is available and hopefully we get quite a few more better paying missions there's a good chance my mind will be different. But personally, as of right now I've been rather let down over the online portion of the game.

I just did the submarine parts and I never appreciated the underwater until then. I was swimming through plane wreckage and sunken ships and all that. I admit the nuclear waste wasn't too great but I really liked the diving.
