A lot of people that play this game are just geeks that enjoy the sandbox aspect of the game, or just like games, in fact there's probably millions of reasons people play GTA but I'm curious as to how many of you have actually lived a life where you depended on criminal activities to put food on your table? I don't need or want explicit details as to your criminal past or  your criminal present but just a general idea if you feel like it.

Today I'm a law abiding individual, I have a family and kids and a job and I've worked for everything I own. However once upon a time I wasn't such a nice fellow. I felt like the world wasn't so nice to me so I made a choice to not be nice back. I was very poor and everywhere around me all I saw were people taking advantage of my hard work for their personal gain, it made me really mad so I did some things I knew were illegal to earn money to be able to live the life I wanted to live back then which included a lot of partying and all the things that come with that scene.

I like many of my friends eventually got busted. I was more fortunate than my friends however because I'd covered my ass a bit better than they did so I wasn't ever charged with anything and only had to spend a weekend in jail. I ultimately lost a 2003 Tiburon because it however but otherwise I was able to dust my hands of it and I never looked back.

Anyone else have a similar story or are all your lives being spent living on the right side of the law?

Edit: for those curious... my bust involved 2 ounces of cocaine 800xtc pills a lb of weed steroid pills and a 9mm.

I like to "borrow" things and gather information on people.

But if I tell you more than that, I'm legally obligated to end your existence.

Well, I once stole red underwear from the supermarket.

But no, seriously, why will people talk about the illegal things they did on these forums?

Dont steal my lines...I to this day will go to local monasteries, pick a nun, wine and dine her until she falls in love with me and then dump her telling her she is a terrible lover and has turned me gay does that count?

I've stolen some some cookies with friends at a kids house back when I was 8. It was well planned since we didn't get caught. Guess you'd call it a heist

Been placed in handcuffs a few times, and arrested once. Spent the day in a cell until all 3 charges were dropped.

The food was f*cking horrible, and I was disappointed by the whole 1 phone call thing. Turns out you can't even speak on the phone just pass a message.

Well in my case it's done and over with. If I want to talk about it there's nothing the law can really do about it that they haven't already tried to do.

In my youth

I set fire to a couple of cars,

spent 5 hrs in a cell for possession of a knife

smashed up an entire work-site full of pick-ups,Diggers and portable cabins.

Busted for running over cars on foot and on my BMX

do these count ? none of it was for financial gain,I was young and hanging with the wronguns  and it was just fun. Nothing much else to do back then, it was before xbox and the internet!

As interesting as that is it's not quite the same thing. I did stupid things as a kid but this was different. I wasn't doing it simply to do something stupid, I was doing it because I would have been destroyed financially if I hadn't.

I'm a multiple time felon who has beat more cases then I was convicted of. I'm pretty much a law abiding citizen now but back in my younger years that wasn't the case. I know how heavy 200k in cash is inside a backpack and have been inside semi trailer trucks full of weed. Ive sold prescription pills for three dollars a piece and still made over six figures per deal. Been shot at, robbed at gun point, had people break into my house, had police steal and plant evidence on me, and have met some Mexicans that would dig up your grandma and kill her again if you ever crossed them.

This isn't me bragging either just being honest. I will tell you that even though crime pays extremely well it's not worth it in the long run. Jail sucks and being labeled a convicted felon is even worst.

I do find it funny when people talk tough on Xbox because I know the life and can tell you first hand real gangsters don't talk then do and they sure as sh*t don't talk a big game on Xbox.

I'm a law abiding citizen. Spotless record.

EDIT: I don't have any plans of doing crime, nor do I grief people in the game. Spotless record, everywhere.

I just realized I'm apparently a geek for liking the sandbox option of the game. Cool.

Probably forgotten to return 40$ worth of pencils, markers and pens in my life span.

Had a fund raising sale for my class once. Had to sell 100$ worth in ornaments. I never payed mine. Used it to buy Halo Reach Collectors edition.

Born in a country that legalizes weapons to be fired in a wedding as a sign of "congratulations". I had poor aim which resulted in me accidentally shooting someone (he lived though). Cops and paramedics came as a result. Plus we didn't have the license to use the AK-47s yet...
