I think people are getting too hyped up for the heists.

I'm sure they will be fun, but they aren't going to be huge 30 minutes missions which earn you hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of RP. If that were the case, then why would anyone ever do anything other than heists?

I have a feeling they will be one of two things:

1. They are essentially glorified store robberies, where you can hold up the cashiers, hack a control pad to get into a vault, grab bags of money, then escape the police, earning you around 20,000 to 40,000 dollars, and a couple of thousand RP.

OR

2. Time limited (e.g only available once per month on a certain day, like the weekend events), same as above but paying out a little more, maybe up to 80,000.

I think its more likely to be the second one, that there will be "Heist Weekend Events" every so often when you can perform heists.

OR you know, job points become a currency and the bigger heists will sit at the highest price, so that having many job points can be spent on many smaller heists or just one big one.  Fluffing the game with much needed motive and cash flow, as well as choice and opportunity.

I expect the heists to be like missions we've already seen, I expect them to pay a lower amount than what people want, and I will enjoy them because they are more missions. If anyone has a cynical point of view about them, they can shove their opinion up their.. No one cares about how you feel. If we are having fun, and you're not, then f*ck off. And seriously...
137789328_Kobe_U_Mad_xlarge.jpeg

I have zero expectations on what they will be like and when they show up I will be surprised by it andI will enjoy it entirely as the entertainment it is.

Just a thought out of logic...their prelaunch announcement included mention of four comming dlc's. In the past three months we have seen one of these promised content packs for each of the months we have been playing. Would it not make logical sense that heists will be added in the forth month? Some people are just so impatient.

Guys, they aren't announcing anything until they are sure glitchers/exploiters won't flood the game with counterfeit money again.

What's the point of coming out with heists if everyone is going to be "gifted" with 100 million dollars again in a couple weeks?

For f*ck's sake OP, just because there's now news does not mean nothing is being done.

Oh yeah, and my friend Gerrel Saunders' artwork, which was posted on newswire yesterday, is f*cking awesome!

^this.

So, if you want to blame someone for lack up updates and content. Blame the people constantly breaking the game.

They are everywhere, so this is gonna take a while.

The next update will include

  • Tanks have 100% more armor, and are unaffected by RPG, Mini-Gun, and Grenade Launchers. It will still take 300 charges to make the tank smoke
  • Off the radar will only last 30 seconds, with the first 10 seconds still taken up by Lester not hanging up the phone
  • We have improved the sniper range to 300 feet
  • Passive mode will now only work when you are in your garage
  • Players with more than $2000 dollars will be moved to the cheater pool

Sounds like a lot of good changes.

No, it's never going to live up to the hype. 4 months and we've received a broken bottle, a pea shooter, some sh*tty cars and crap hair cuts.

And don't blame it on the "hackers", they've only been a real problem since around xmas.

Yeah, and there where no problems before Xmas, right?.........

Not problems that should halt the development progress of a game which has earned Rockstar billions.

Like disappearing characters, apartments, cars, loss of connection?.....need i carry on?

What has that got to do with developing new content? It's not hard to have one group fixing (easy) bugs whilst another focuses on new content.

As I said, this game earned them billions, hence the rate at which they're working is appalling. Free to play game developers have their sh*t sorted faster than this.

You raise a valid point here, and I would agree this is almost certainly the case. Pretty much every "triple AAA" studio operates in a similar manner.

They likely have two teams for new content though. One working on the major content expansion (AKA the paid dlc) and another working on the free content for online (heists etc). I suspect that, with all the trouble the online aspect of GTA V has had, they might have re-purposed some of that second team, to get on top of things, hence the delay.

I don't like the trickle of information so far about heists and other online related stuff, but keeping one's cards close to their chest has been the modus operandi for Rockstar for over a decade. It's doing more harm than good in this instance, IMO.

It's all about money in the end. If they spent enough money they could hire the world's best developers, and lots of them. No doubt it would all be sorted faster if they did that. Whether they have that kind of money and whether it would make sense for them from a business perspective, I don't know. But the problem is definately not that the bugs are too hard to fix or that the new content is too hard to create in a timely manner. The problem is that they're not throwing enough money at it (from our perspective). I'm sure they have very well educated people making estimates on the most efficient balance between development costs and the risk of people abandoning the game.

why punish legit players? i think it has to do with cash cards and them working on a different game.

What the christ?  R* just had a massive downtime last week to fix things.  It's been less than a week!

I wish there were voting options 1-5 on this forum - enough 1 votes and it gets locked or moved to a garbage forum where all the sh*tty posts end up.  I think almost every thread in this forum would get a 1 for being redundant or just massively stupid on something based on hearsay and not fact. Or they lack any grasp of writing skills and all the thread titles like the Huffington Post writes headlines for linkbait.  I swear half the OPs have been dropped on their heads.

But don't get me wrong.  There are some good threads here... on the other hand...

Yes! Why don't people understand they are posting "a topic for discussion", not a personal face book feed!. "Has anyone wondered why?", and "has anyone had this happen?", are not topics. When you define what you will be discussing, then you will have posted a topic. Eg. "Do you prefer in car, or out of car view in GTA onlone?", would be an example of a TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION. The idea is that people can choose the topic they wish to read, rather than open the thread wondering what the hell it will be about. If you need to keep your post secret in order for anyone to be curious enough to read it, maybe GTFO!

Agreed. I've been playing since November, and all I've gotten from R* is a few hats, some worthless cars, snow (they still get props for that), and billions taken out of my account. They probably have no idea what the hell they want to do with the game, so they keep holding back the heists until they figure out something to put in afterward. By then, though, too many people may have lost interest. I don't want the game to fail, but I don't see it lasting as long as R* expects it to.

Oh, and more death matches, survivals, and a content creator. Not to mention that Rockstar discussed heists and more single player missions or whatnot for anyone who can actually read.

I love when I hear little kids whine about the lack of heists. I imagine drinking their tears and laughing like a supervillain.

Funny how the fictional CnC, drug dealing and the casino are mentioned in the same sentence as heists.

Hey, R*, why u no tell us no news about our floating Death Star Moonbase apartments?

And only one of them has ever been mention by R*!  At no point have they mentioned CnC, drug dealing or the casino.  These are all baseless fan created hype.

Went for a smaller one, didn't like how much space it took up. I've also been experimenting with my character's appearance, so he doesn't look like he did in that sig anymore.

Yes, you can.

You really can't. Counterfeit money is a worthless forgery. A fraudulent attempt at creating real currency. The millions in GTA dollars I spent on ammo, vehicles, and mods, were never rejected for being "counterfeit." The code said the money was real, therefore it was real.

I watch so many people complain about buying a game and I want content lol... I swear to god you act like this is a pay to play like world of warcraft. Do you have any f*cking clue what kind of profit is made off of one game like the actual dollar amount per unit sold in MONEY EARNED ...  Yea it isn't as much as you 5 year olds think...
