Great poll! Thanks for asking! Why isn't there a proper one? Maybe a mod can add it.

I brush 3 times a day, sometimes more depending on what I eat or drink. I also floss nightly.

I use a manual toothbrush.

When I brush in the morning, it is the first thing I do when I wake up, so it is prior to eating.

I do brush my tongue.

Sometimes twice a day, sometimes twice a month. They're clean (at least visibly) but I need to get into the habit of cleaning my teeth more often, I'm pretty slack.

Manual all the way. Never liked electric toothbrushes, they're heavier and just seem more like a burden.

I tend not to eat breakfast, so I guess the answer would be.. before? When I rarely do decide to brush my teeth, it's usually first thing in the morning.

Sometimes, if I can be bothered. On the whole I don't, though.

I brush once while in the shower, I make a big mess when I brush so it's best I do it there. I use a manual brush since it's normally the closest I get to exercise. I usually end up eating something not long after I brushed, I'm not exactly sure why but it could do with the fact I don't like the taste of toothpaste. And yes I brush my tongue and I don't gag either. :colgate:

Once every morning after my breakfast. Electric, those things clean well.

Once a day, but I should go on brushing twice again.

Until now, I always used a manual toothbrush, but currently I'm using an electric one.

After I eat.

I haven't done this before, maybe I should give it a try though.

Twice a day

Manual only

After breakfast

Don't brush my tongue

I use mouthwash after every brush and floss before bed. I chew gum after eating during the day.

2-3 times a day.

I had electronic but it died and I'm too lazy to find the charger, so I use regular + tongue scrubber.

If my breath is pretty bad I'll brush before I eat, but if it's just so-so I'll brush after I eat. OR if I'm at a sleepover or whatever I'll always brush before I eat out of common courtesy because morning breath is the nastiest thing to smell. OR I'll use mouth wash, go eat, then brush my teeth afterwards.

Yes, I brush my tongue.

Once a day, if at all (but three/four times a week minimum.)

Manual, electric ones always broke when I was a kid, and my bad experience with them leaves me doubtful.

Before, but I don't eat for like thirty minutes afterwards, and I rinse pretty good, honest.

Yeah. See :p

How often do you brush your teeth?

3 times a day, or 4 if I have to go to the dentist.

Do you use a manual or electric toothbrush?

Manual, because electric is for pussies and SWAG.

If you brush in the morning, do you brush before or after you eat?

After, obviously. It'd be a waste of time and effort to brush before a meal. When I happen to be at a sleepover, I use my hidden weapon:

Do you brush your tongue?

Yes, otherwise it wouldn't cut the bad smell of a morning or even daily breath.

For the people who are using a manual toothbrush, what toothbrush do you always buy and how often do you change it?

Usually one of the cheapest. I tend to replace it when it starts to look a little frayed, I have no idea how long that is, every couple of months maybe? I'm sh*t with timekeeping and have a hard enough time remembering my birthday.

I try to brush my teeth when in the morning, but often I'm busy or in a rush so that doesn't happen as much as I like it would. Always brush my teeth before I go to bed though.

And who doesn't love brushing their teeth in the dentist's parking lot?

I usually brush my teeth while looking up seductively into a camera lens.

2-3 times a day, electric. Floss once a day at the end of the day. Then brush + mouthwash after that.

When I'm traveling I use an Oral B, change that out every 6 months or so.

I have Invisalign, so I have to brush and floss every time I eat or drink anything (usually around 5 times per day). I always brush after I eat because, well, anything else defeats the purpose, and I'd just get a sh*t ton of cavities if I put my braces back on without brushing first. I use an electric toothbrush, and I occasionally brush my tongue.

- Two and sometimes three times a day.
- Electric albeit it is weak
- Whoever brushes before and never afterwards is a complete and utter moron. Brushing then eating and then not brushing afterwards kind of defeats the purpose of brushing, no?
- Why would I not? Wtf?

You all make me think I don't take good care of myself.

But then I look in the mirror and go: "Wow, you're so handsome".

I brush once a day before I go to bed with an electrical toothbrush. I sometimes brush the back of my tongue (when you're brushing it you get vomit reflexes).

JUST AN FYI TO EVERYONE

It amazes me how many people think it is pointless to brush before breakfast. It is actually potentially damaging to brush after you eat.

The reason for brushing at night is to wash away the wast food before you sleep. The reason you should brush before you eat in the morning is the same reason as why your teeth always feel so horrible in the morning anyway. ie That dirty taste/feeling is what you need to be brushing away, not your breakfast. If you had to brush after breakfast (which you don't) then logically you would have to brush after lunch (which you don't).

So to summarise, it isn't about brushing after you eat every time, it's about brushing before and after you sleep.

And stop brushing more than twice, it is not necessary and you may be doing more harm than good by over brushing.

Anyone can Google this topic and find a variety of articles confirming what I am saying.

2 times a day, before breakfast.

Used a electric tooth brush (Sonicare) and I also brush my tongue.

It needs to replace the brush heads every 3 months or when the blue indicator bristles becomes low, which ever comes first.

There is one that comes with a hard shell travel case and you charge the tooth brush through the cases's USB port via the supplied charger or

through your computer. It also comes with glass cup that can also be used as a charger.

I always brush twice a day using a manual brush.

once in the morning after breakfast and once at night before bed.

I also floss once a day (using those floss picks) and use some Listerine mouth wash at least a few times a week.

Great. I just hope that people around you enjoy the smell of onion that comes from your mouth when you eat in lunch, after all it's pointless to brush your teeth after it, no?

They don't even have to ask you what you've had in your lunch, they know it just by smell of your breath. Tasty eh?

@StormerBoy, that is rubbish and you know it. I should not brush before AND after breakfast, only before? I should brush only twice a day? Where did you learn this? Its more damaging for me to brush after breakfast, rather than not brushing and letting my breathe stink AND letting sugar and other dirt sit on my teeth for hours? Shut up...

Do you know what people, I was just trying to help. Not sure why it has touched a nerve with some of you. Now, not that I should have bothered after the last few responses, but here is a link giving you some basic tips:

http://www.nhs.uk/Li...aningguide.aspx

Included in the above is that it IS damaging to brush your teeth straight after a meal and you should brush your teeth BEFORE breakfast!

My dentist has never told me brushing after breakfast was bad so I'm slightly more inclined to believe him over some kid linking to some website on the internet.

Seriously though, what is your purpose for being a member here? This is a forum dedicated to Grand Theft Auto. Can't you be a normal member for once and discuss GTA instead of pretending to to be a dentist and lecture people on their brushing habits.

You've got to be kidding me?

First off, it isn't some website, it's the UK national health care website. And there are many more examples out there that will all be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Second, I'm not a kid, but then I guess you only felt the need to call me one to belittle me.

Third, your dentist may well have never told you that, but did he tell you otherwise?

Fourth, I wasn't lecturing anyone to begin with, but I felt obliged to give people a heads up that they were pretty much all making a terrible mistake.

Fifth, normal? So sorry about that.

Sixth, isn't this Off topic chat?
