Not sure really, cause the whole Vice City soundtrack is perfect. Many perfect songs, so i can't decide.

This is a game that has a soundtrack more recognized than games revolving around music like Guitar Hero. Question is, what song plays in your head when you think about Vice City?

Mine's "Self Control" by Laura Branigan:

This would have to be my pick. Everytime the songs coming to a close and it's at the WOAH ( Drums ) WOAH WOAH WOAH (Drums) bit. I ALWAYS beep the horn during the drums bit in time with it. EVERYTIME. If you've heard the song you'll know the part im talking about. I get right into this song. Suits the game perfectly and it gets me pumped the music is insane and the lyrics are gold how could you not love it ?

Hall and oats out of touch is equal though. We didn't have youtube then so i would go out of my way to hear this song on the game. I was in love it with. I would drive around singing to it and stuff. I thought it was the greatest thing ever but it was a guilty pleasure of mine i didn't let anybody else know about my love for it. It was my secret.

TLDR: I love this game more than i can ever explain and certain songs on this game hold insane sentimental value for that reason they remind me of being young :)

Gosh, pretty much all of the songs in the soundtrack makes you think of VC from time to time.

They all have that certain "VC vibe" in them.

I've been waiting, for a girl like you, to come in to my life. Either that or A Flock of Seagulls. Summertime Madness and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' too. Was such a great soundtrack. I'd sometimes load the game up, pause and go to the radio station just to listen to it while I was doing other stuff.

Surprised I haven't heard a lot of "foreigner - girl like you".

That song and hall and oates - out of touch  remind me of this game every time.

Automatic by The Pointer Sisters. https://www.youtube....h?v=w-4bxMI0jgM

I never really listened to the music that often (I loved K-Chat and thought the characters were hilarious) so whenever I entered the Malibu Club I heard that song quite a lot.

For me the main songs are that epitomise the game are:

Foreigner - I've Been Waiting For a Girl Like You

Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran

Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It

Wang Chung - Dance Hall Days

I like 80s rock and pop music and used to just load up the game purely to listen to the music on there.

Good times from a great soundtrack. :)

It would probably be this song,

It always reminds me of the first time I played the game and also of crossing South Bridge for the first time, which was the first one I went on after unlocking the map. During the loading screen, it was right on the guitar solo giving it a good, some what well timed entrance into the mainland.

Songs that actually appeared in the game? Excellent soundtrack overall, but my pick is Easy Lover.

Other than that, I have a few custom songs loaded up and even though it's modern 80s style I think Innocence by Electric Youth is really good for those nights where you just wanna' cruise around Vice City.

It's been a long time since I played VC, but I saw this thread title on the front page (I usually lurk mostly around the GTA V & Online sections) and the first song that came back to me was Toto - Africa. Love that song and I loved hearing it on the radio in Vice City.

EDIT: Holy balls I just scrolled up and saw someone mentioned 'Out of Touch' by Hall and Oates. That song alongside the VC scenery suddenly came rushing back to me across the years. Daaaaaaamn.

1986's Madhouse by Anthrax. This was the song that got me into thrash metal, along with Metallica. Whenever I hear Madhouse come on, I ALWAYS turn it all the way up. It's one of those perfect songs that come along every once in a lightyear.

This too..

1984's Rock Box from RUN-DMC. This got me into RUN-DMC and introduced me to older hip-hop, along with Beastie Boys. SUPA RAHCKIN' MISTA MAJIC ON THA MIC

Probably all of Flash FM, Emotion 98.3 and Wave 103, the mix of new wave and pop music has never been matched so well to another City like they did with the music in VC and VCS. It would be a shame for Rockstar to make another GTA in Vice City, they would probably want to make it in the present and it would just not live up to the feel of tropical 80's Vice.

If I could I would end up posting all of Flash, Wave and Emotion, but narrowing it down to one song that has not been mentioned would be....

Lionel Richie's Running with the Night, that kinda defined the difference for me playing on the PS2 vs PC, its still always nice to go back and enjoy the PS2 version now and again.

But in all seriousness, there are so many songs. There isn't one that strongly takes me back more than others. Dance Hall Days takes me back to the Malibu Club, Behind the Groove and All Night Long take me back to shooting it up in the Pole Position, there are just so many.

There is, however, a part of Mtume's Juicy Fruit that totally takes me back to driving around (3:16):
