Oh God, if they add the stock market to online? I can become legit super rich... Back when Pisswasser dropped and raised, I went from 36 million to 1.7 billion in single player in one go!

i feel like this will be exploited for lack of a better term... i remeber when the Pisswasser thing happened, everyone on this forum that participated became super rich from it. its basically insider trading and probably not at all how R* anticipated it to be used...

potential for loads of quick cash tho... i mean lots if done correctly

The one thing people tend to forget when they talk about how much everyone made in single player on the stock market is the fact you can use multiple saves. You're never really at risk of losing money if you pick a bad stock. Online you would not have this protection so there is a much greater risk of loosing your investment. In single player we also had more money to start with and Lester's missions boosted that amount well before people started picking big gainers on the BAWSAQ like HAL and Piss. It was really easy to make a few billion when you had a few hundred million to invest. That is not the case online, turning your single digit million(s) into substantial wealth would take longer than what we experienced in single player. Add to that the fact we don't know how our online actions would influence the stock market, as R* had intended, so there is no guarantee we'd see the same kind of potential gains if it were made available. This was one of the most exciting features to me and would love to see it added along side the casino. I think the explosion of billionaires may have halted both of these being made available but still holding out hope we'll see them eventually.

that is a damn good point, the part about multiple saves. plus our online actions could cause a change in the market world...

Yeah that was what I was most excited about with the stock market feature. It sounded like a really cool mechanic to let us invest in the companies we interact with in some capacity online and have our actions influence that stock. As mentioned, this could lead to some people trying insider trading type activities which hopefully R* has enough sense to put in measures to prevent (lol I know). Similar to how everyone tried pump and dump schemes with the BAWSAQ in single player to see if it would affect stock prices. Our online actions need to influence to the stocks in a manner we can't easily exploit by coordinating big buys/sells, blowing up company trucks, buying clothes from only one of the stores, etc.

They were going to, I think they changed their mind.

Stocks would be a way to keep your money safe and potentially make money on your money.

Stash all your money and you won't have to pay all the petty little fees they put in.  No insurance fees when you take out another players ride.  No death fee.  No mechanic or utility fee.

They're protecting their Cash Cards.

what do you mean protect?

it would be a perfect way for them to make all your money dissapear

you stash all your money in stocks and than BAM the stock market crashes

The idea of BAWSAQ online was quite good (on paper) but to make it work the game (online) needs a lot to be done in "security department", so, yeah, now it sounds more satirical then ever.

I really can't see similar profits to be expected online as they were in SP - precisely because there's no way R* will release it before ALL the hacked/glitched/cheated money is gone to never come back - therefore no multibillionaires to exploit it. I suppose all those heists could've given it a little push, as well as cars destroyed, egochasers bought, number of players killed etc. but something tells me - it might happen in a ve-e-e-ry unforeseeable future.
