The fights with Sabertooth were cool. Everything else was trash.

Origins was terrible. Almost the Last Stand bad.

The Wolverine was disappointing, but wasn't inherently bad.

The Wolverine is like Citizen Kane compared to Origins

I am not excited about Olivia Munn playing Psylocke. I don't think she's that good of an actor. I'd love for her to prove me wrong here, because, I'll admit, she looks the part.

Apocalypse looks a little more Pharaoh-ey than I expected.

I wonder if he'll evolve as the film progresses ?

He looks like a mix of Ronan and Ivan Ooze.

They should've CGI'd him.

My guess is Fox wants to hold off on Gambit until after Apocalypse, so they can see where they are, and how much money they make on it. If it flops, they might want to make a deal with Fox similar to Sony's deal, where they include the X-Men in the MCU. If it's a hit, they will have at least two more X-Men movies ready to shoot to keep the rights.

I can see how that would upset an actor who might have other offers for more fulfilling roles.

Just finished watching most of the series. Never really paid attention to them until people recommended DOFP to me.

The first one was a solid move. It wasn't amazing or anything but it did its job. I just felt like it could have been longer as most of the movie is exposition and just learning things and not much dynamic between characters (except Wolverine/Cyclops).

Second one was amazing except the end. Don't get why Jean Gray had to kill herself and sh*t.

I saved myself the trouble of watching the third one. Already saw bits and pieces of it on TV over the years and I disliked it just from what I saw. Don't feel like sitting through it so I skipped it.

I skipped Origins and Wolverine simply because they didn't interest me in the slightest.

First Class was alright. The dynamic between young Magneto and Charles was amazing and Mystique was fine. The rest of the characters were bland and uninteresting but it was a good time. I wish the black guy didn't die as he probably had the coolest powers besides Mystique.

Days of Future Past is my favorite. It's a time travel movie so of course there's a sh*t ton of problems with it but overall, it was fun and enjoyable. Characters were all good and sh*t.

If I had to place them in order, it'd be something like this:

DOFP

X2

First Class

X-Men

(Here's how I'm guessing I'd rate the films I haven't seen)

The Wolverine

Last Stand

Origins

I haven't really read the comics so I can't say much about how "true" they look to the original characters, but I kinda like how ridiculously 80's this film looks.

Also I actually prefer the X-Men films over the Marvel cinematic universe. Of course some of the films haven't been that great, but overall I prefer the more mature tone. A lot of the jokes in the Avengers movies just make me cringe pretty hard.

The Magneto theme from First Class is just superb. Sadly it wasn't in DOFP iirc.

I was just watching DoFP, and had a thought. Let me preface this theory by saying, I do not think the X-Men belong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At least they don't as they are seen in these Fox films. A merger between continuities is impossible without a full on reboot or massive plot holes.

That said, I believe Fox tried to keep the door open for a merger purposely. By making First Class, by erasing the past films in DoFP, by setting Apocalypse in the 80s/90s, they are keeping the door open.

Do I think it would work? No. Do I think Marvel would ever want the Fox X-Men cast or story part of the MCU? NO. But I think Fox's motivation for setting their last three films (minus The Wolverine) in either the past or future, is a direct result of them wanting to keep the door open for that merger. Their reasoning being, it would be easier to merge the continuities if they never show present day. They could have Wolverine be an Avenger in present day, and still be at the X-Mansion at the end of DoFP.

I could be wrong. I could be just unconciously parroting someone else. I just think it's not too far fetched, and would be interesting if true.

I kinda like the X-men being separate.  The MCU is starting to get a little bloated.

Fox just needs to get a better creative team for their branch of the Marvel films.

If that were to ever happen,I personally believe it would feel way to bloated,I mean, alot of people found Avengers 2 to be bloated,so allowing 2X people to enter would be wayyy to convoluted unless its a 2 Parter

If I've understood correctly, Fox and Marvel aren't very fond of each other. The recent Fant4Stick catastrophe probably just added fuel to the flames. So I doubt they'll ever merge the two universes. It wouldn't make any sense anyways. Sure would have been helpful to have mutants around during the earlier MCU films.

I don't know anything about the upcoming X-Men film. Sophie Turner is a good sign I guess. I really enjoyed the X-Men films (barring the abomination that was Last Stand) so I imagine I'll see this in the cinema. I really regret not seeing any Marvel films in the cinema since (the horrific) Spiderman 3.

I don't know. Nothing about that trailer, particularly excites me, with the exception of the Storm Mohawk.
