I'm sure most of you have heard about the weird trumpet-sounding sounds in the sky by now. It's been going on since August 2011 (at least, that's when the first video was posted of it). I have never heard any of those sounds until today.

When I woke up this morning, I let my dog out. I was standing there waiting for him to do his business and I noticed a weird sound. It sounded like singing, but it was very far away and it sounding very low-toned. It lasted about 30 seconds and stopped altogether. My dog started barking, so I know it wasn't me hearing things. I didn't get to take a video since my phone was inside, but now I've heard something to convince me that those videos are real.

The sounds weren't like the ones in most videos, though. Those were more like trumpets, but this was more like opera singing, but almost eerie. It's -15 degrees ouside, so I doubt there's any outdoor opera singing going on around here.

So my question is, have any of you ever heard these strange sounds coming from the sky? Even if they weren't like the ones I've mentioned, have you heard anything out of the ordinary while outside?

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's a video.

Horns of death angels, aliens preparing to attack us, or maybe acoustic-gravity waves:

I have never heard that sounds.

It's the end of the world Repent REPENT!
If it is indeed real the media is doing a good job at covering it up

They sound like movie sound effects to me. It's a quite under-reported phenomenon for something that is real and this loud and creepy.

In some of those clips in the OP video, it almost appears as if no one else in the video is hearing the sound except the guy holding the camera (and some, not even him).

Wasn't this proven to be fake? I remember reading it, but I can't recall the article.

Reminds me of War of the worlds movie

Indeed. Most of the videos are faked, those sounds are taken from the said movie.

Apparently there are two kinds of sounds. One that sound like explosions or something so and another one like a distant truck engine. This last, know as the 'Taos Hum', may be hardly noticeable for the human hearing due to its low-frequency.

Then there is the other one which, supposedly and like I've previously said, sound like explosions or heavy machinery. I heard a while back that there are already Canadian scientifics researching for the Government the nature of this phenomenon since it's pretty common in some parts of Canada, causing annoyances between the residents of these areas.

I think I've heard twice the Hum. The first time, in a summer night, I didn't give it any importante thinking it could be a delivery truck. The second one September 25th, a real hot night, it began to bother me. It was again like a parked truck in the distance with the engine turned on. Due to the heat, I had to open the window and therefore the sound was even more annoying. It was from about midnight or 1AM to 4:30 AM, stopped half an hour at about 3:30-4 if I remember well. At first I thought, once again, that it could be a delivery or garbage truck as the night advanced I began to think that it wasn't normal at all how long it would be there stopped so I started to think that it could be the so called Hum. I recorded it with the ipod, though it can't almost be heard.

That sounds more like tinnitus, RoadRun than that horn sh*t that everyone was fooled by.

I was really creeped out when these videos first started appearing online. But yeah, unfortunately they are fake, and can be explained.

I recorded the one that sounded like a truck engine so it wasn't anything related to the hearing.

Well, after watching the video, there is no way a noise that loud hasn't been reported before, I'm sorry, but the whole f*cking neighbourhood would wake up judging by how loud the noise was, especially in the built-up areas.

I believe i have heard something, not sure but it could be. Ofc i live next to a very big water heating plant or factory, that makes sounds like the ones in the videos too actually. Humming and sometimes loud bangs. So theres my explanation. I too remember however when i was very young, i always woke up in the middle of the night because there was some metal like banging outside my window. It got me very scared all the time. Mom said it was the piped but im sure it was coming outside.

Anything for you, my modly friend.

I meant that in my case, that's definitely not what it was. It wasn't a hum, it sounded more like singing and it wasn't very loud. It was just one of those weird phenomenons that inspires a sense of fear when there's no reason for it.

Plus, I don't live close enough to a body of water that contains fish for me to here it anyway.

Seen too many movies, sounds like somebody has turned on a recording of a sound effect.
Now, how about a "natural" man made noise:
