8 Months Old...How come nobody sees information when it's posted?

Pointless getting more than 97 or 98 in a Starter Save, since the Callahan Bridge Package is purely luck based and you go to a lot of trouble just to get it when I personally just wait until after Driving Mr. Leone.  I have to return to Portland regardless the moment SI is unlocked to bring the Thunder-Rodd, BF Injection, and Hellenbach GT for Import/Export, so on the way back, I get the Package, which I literally drive right past during this time.  So I see no reason to need it early.  Just like the Dolls House Hidden Package to make 98.  I see no reason, since "Blow Up Dolls" is literally like 8 Missions or so into the game and at that time, I get the Package AT THE SAME TIME I do the final Stunt Jump which also can't be done early and it's also right next to a Molotov Pickup.  There is reasons I don't do some of the things early as it would just hurt the Total Playing Time in the end, anyways, as well as the Safehouse Visits since some of the stuff like the Callahan Bridge Package would be pure luck.  I'd basically get 1 Package, then save the game and after 20 minutes trying to get it.  In other words, not worth it.  More Cons than Pros in this case and furthermore, you don't get the $50,000 and the final 100th Hidden Package until the 3rd to last Story Mission.  No percentage increase until all 100 are obtained, so it's pointless...

And yeah, I've spoken about Special Vehicles in non Special Vehicle Topics, but this was long ago, before I made any of my Guides.  Now a days every time something is mentioned about Special Vehicles in random Topics, I just link my Guide and report the Posts and tell the Staff to merge the sh*t into my Guide or something as there doesn't need to be multiple Topics around the Forum for the exact same purpose.  This is a Starter Save Topic, which is about the Tasks in which you can do after Home Sweet Home, the percentage you will get, and the Attempts you will get.  Nothing more...

As of the 100th package, I wonder if we can use a ghost car to get deep enough into the building with the package inside that we won't respawn on the street, bail out at perfect height, angle, place. Grab the package, and I think that we'll be close enough to the street to respawn on it.

Tried that already, it doesn't work. You always get teleported on the street.

I thought it's possible to respawn inside the building, but since zazaza said it's impossible, oh well.
As there is a invisible platform, I think there's another way?? Like landing on it and perform a stunt or run and jump.

And the roof is also solid which means that my idea of jumping to another one with an incredible stunt and jumping into this one to grab the package while falling is bad.

...Doesn't work.  Same thing was said in the 8 Month Old Comment I linked a few posts above.  Does anyone read?  It's a link, leading you to all the information THAT WAS ALREADY TALKED ABOUT 8 Months ago and found that it doesn't work.

Well then... It's probably impossible in the beginning.
Perhaps if we go extremely fortunate and somehow jump into building with tall height, we can do it. That's a very low chance, tho.

I thought of an alternative way to bring vehicles to Portland early on, but it's way too f*cking tedious. The basic idea is very similar to the AP/EC Black Maverick; leave a boat in memory near the harbour, drive your desired vehicle there, build up a lot of speed, bail out at the last second, and use the boat to push it to Harwood. The distance will be much shorter, and no Ferry Boats to mess you up, but still very annoying.

I just did exactly that:

gyfwvJ6.jpg

I parked the Reefer (although I assume other boats work, too) on the pier where "Caught in the Act" takes place, went on foot to the V8 Ghost's spawn location, drove it to the harbour, threw it in the water, and pushed it to Harwood. Make sure your vehicle is in good shape before attempting this, because the boat does damage it. Also, if you push too hard, it might tip, so be careful. It doesn't blow up whilst submerged, though, so there is a chance to flip it back up before beaching it.

In other words: IT IS POSSIBLE TO BRING CARS TO PORTLAND EARLY (bikes don't work; they are completely submerged)! It's not as tedious as I initially thought, but still is, somewhat. Also, cars are MUCH easier to push AND beach than the Maverick (everything is easier than the Maverick).

So, BP/DP/PP/TP/EC Deimos SP and Cheetah, BP/DP/PP V8 Ghost, Phobos VT etcetera, are actually possible.

I haven't yet gotten a full understanding of how the tunnel-clipping trick works, but if I do, I'll investigate if there is an ideal location in the other islands, thus (hopefully) find a new method to transport vehicles (including bikes) over to Portland.

Meanwhile, I'm doing some research regarding the Heavy property in relation to WP, and am finding some weird stuff. When I get it done, I'll post more details on the guide.

I once clipped through Pay and Spray when I drove beneath a truck that for some reason got stuck in there.
Why can't we put bikes into the reefer?

You can absolutely take Bikes back to Portland.  Hasn't anyone watched OrionSR's See the Sight Before Your Flight runs using Bikes/Boats, and no WP Bike?  His Videos are like 6 to 8 years old.  So they've been around for a while now...I saw this stuff in 2015, myself, but only owned LCS since April 2014, so 3 years I have this game, as well as VCS.

https://www.youtube..../OrionSR/videos

You can find them somewhere in there.  You just take the Bike ON THE BOAT with you, to the dock, and then wheelie off the Boat onto land with the Bike.  He did this, and passed all 12 Sights in a Starter Save early on without a WP Bike.  The hardest and most interesting way to do StSBYF 12 times in a Starter Save.  The WP PCJ-600 is too easy :D :p

But even with being able to take Bikes back to Portland, what gives?  What Bike is in SI/SSV that we need to bring back to Portland early?  None...

Why can't we put bikes into the reefer?

It's not really a discovery, but rather an ascertainment of an old trick that dates back in the days of GTA III, where the wall-sinking glitch had yet to be found. I got the idea more than a month ago, and put it into a test today. I also confirmed yesterday that this very same method works in VCS, as well (EP Gang Rancher ), and is arguably less time-consuming.

We can put bikes on the Reefer, to somewhat act as a ferry boat, but I tried it several times, and failed. For one, I could barely turn at all, other times the bike merged with the boat and/or fell in the water afterwards, or by the time I realised I hardly made any progress, my bike had already started smoking. Using vehicles as a means of transporting other vehicles is an interesting mechanic Rockstar never really capitalized on. Okay, we temporarily had some sky-cranes during missions like "Up, Up and Away!" and "High Wire", but the only "perfect" vehicle transporter so far is the Cargobob in V, but, in that game, during free roam, this function is completely useless, I think. Everything else is glitchy.

I was wrong.  BP/PP Pizza Boy...From Joe's Well Snacked Pizza Side Mission.  This would be good to bring back early on to Portland using a Boat.  Shouldn't be too hard with OrionSR's Method.  May take a few tries, though...Also the BP/PP Angel from SSV to Portland?  Perhaps SSV to SI, then to Portland with the Angel.  Would be a nice challenge for a BP/PP Angel.  The Angel would be the one parked for AWOL Angel.  I am not sure where else an Angel spawns, but that's the closest one I can think of to take.

There spawns one at the head radio thing (rollercoaster ride takes place there) and one at the ferry.

Really?  An Angel?  I swear I never saw any of these before.  I see Freeway's parked in certain spots, but the only actual ANGEL I can think of is in SSV used for AWOL Angel.  Either way, we have a "special" Bike for EVERY existing Bike in LCS at this point.  The ONLY ones I would need are the Pizza Boy and Angel and make them BP/PP with Shop 'til You Strop and Firefighter.  If I got them, I have many special PCJ-600's, Sanchez's, Freeway's, Faggio's, Avenger, Manchez, Noodle Boy, Pizza Boy, and Angel.

Angel has 3 spawn points in Portland :
1. At the car park of Head Radio, where you take the Stretch in "Rollercoaster Ride".
2. At the Portland ferry station car park.
3. Parked inside an alley opposite of the hospital.

A BP Angel is as easy as converting Portland vehicles...
Anyway, is the Pizzaboy capable of getting on a boat? It's very slow, and there's not much room to accerlate.

I am happy to announce that my LCS PS2 Starter Save is finished!

Everything from the Starter Save List has been completed except for 1 Rampage (the Molotov one near the Car Salesman location, not completed due to OM0 Saves), See the Sight Before your Flight (because I'd rather do it in the end) and I just got 97/100 Hidden Packages. Vehicles missing for the Love Media garage: Hellenbach GT, Thunder-Rodd, BF Injection... I did not get the FP/EC Kuruma from Home Sweet Home though.

I'll just write down the Stats and make pictures of it later (probably, just to prove that it's done).

About f*cking time:

iWqJNmn.jpg

It took me a bunch of tries, but I finally did it. I used the Pizzaboy to prove that it's possible to transfer bikes over to Portland, as the scooter only spawns in Staunton Island. It's harder than pushing cars, and a LOT more infuriating than you might think.

Pick your desired bike, go to the Reefer's location, make sure you enter the boat first, otherwise it will hardly move, and use THE BIKE to push the Reefer back to Portland. However, there are a few problems. For one, If you exit/fall off the bike during the process, it's over. You have to try again. The reason is because Toni will never attempt to enter the bike again when you press Δ, but rather always go for the Reefer, and it's pretty much impossible to control the boat with the bike on board. Plus, due to the wacky game's physics, something dumb will happen, and Toni will fall off the bike or fall into the ocean or both, and there is nothing you can do about it, except reload. To make matters worse, it's incredibly difficult to properly turn the boat in order to avoid hitting walls or random rocks in your way, so you have to be extra careful.

As for getting back on land, the famous beaching spot in Harwood didn't work for me, but rather, the nearby piers, where the Shotgun spawns. Also, I was unable to get off the Reefer using a wheelie with the Pizzaboy in particular. I had to go in reverse.

There are five bikes you would want to transfer over to Portland early; the Pizzaboy to make it H/BP/DP/PP, and the BP/FP/EP Sanchez, Freeway, PCJ-600 and Faggiot to make them H/AP/PP.

Well, I did it and said about that months ago... Just let me find the right stream.

UPD: nevermind, I did it without any recordings. But

Also, Militia, you was wrong. You CAN transport bikes on boat. I tried with Pizza boy and succeeded. All you have to do is accelerate on BIKE and reefer will move magically. Also you can turn with ease. That's quite fast and easy. I bet other bikes work too

Btw, I prefer the nearest pier, which is the closest to Vincenzo. I tried that with Pizza Boy, so other bikes won't cause any problems.

I never said it was my discovery :pp In fact, I learnt from you it's at least possible. All I did was explain the method in detail, which differs from that of cars.

Anyway, what pier are you referring to? The one where you first meet Asuka in III and a Body Armour spawns? If so, making a U-turn will be incredibly hard, unless you do it with the Reefer itself before boarding the bike.

EDIT: The Asuka pier worked. It's a bit tall, but can get the job done. I did a U-turn with the Reefer first and got the bike on board, but it's still quite hard to steer to the pier. Generally though, the distance is much shorter, thus less chance of something stupid happening, so it's a better location than the piers in Harwood.

No idea why you like hard things/time wastes.
Just start a course while in the desired car and boom, you have it. Well, proofings besides Unique/UC/UC2 will vanish but that's fine, I guess.
Also, I got the Phobos VT by just leaving one in memory and then driving around in portland for 5 minutes until I found one.
This trick should work for EP cars in vcs too since you can use the padlock trick to get the menu.

Because some people are looking for an actual challenge and want to work for something that they want, unlike some people who want sh*t handed at them for accomplishing nothing.

zazaza691 discovered the Reefer/Bike Trick and RationalPsycho cofirmed and proved it with a Photo. You, on the hand, look down on people who do it the challenging way and then you brag about how you did it faster than anyone else... Of course you're going to be faster if you use glitchier alternatives, but will you feel the same satisfaction if you did the Reefer/Bike Trick? No...

Glitch alternatives, challenge removed, game becomes boring, no need to play the game anymore...

Leaving stuff in Memory for other islands is already known, I used it for the Phobos VT for the Love Media Garage in my LCS Starter Save.

Because the game likes to crash when starting certain courses in certain places. But even if it didn't, it would only be useful for regular cars and the Pizzaboy, not the FP/PP/TP/EC race cars, BP/FP/EP bikes and the Landstalker, because, as you said, the immunities are deleted. This happens because when starting a course, your vehicle is generated anew, with only the colour remaining; even model variations can change (Stinger with or without roof for example). I remember using this exploit in an attempt to convert vehicles to NE - start a course right when the garage door opens - but didn't work, since the game kept crashing again and again. Maybe you can try it for yourself, to see if it is possible to get a No Extra Hoods Rumpo XL  :p

True. Although somewhat rare, it does happen. The most likely place to encounter vehicles like the Phobos VT in Portland is Callahan Point, on the road that leads to the Asuka pier ("Last Requests" in III) and Atlantic Quays.

I already confirmed this, but only on PS2, because on PSP, vehicles spawn upside down after teleporting most of the time.

EDIT: Back when WP was considered a separate property, I made a research regarding how Heavy vehicles behave when thrown in the water, and came to the conclusion that under normal circumstances, all of them sink, but for some unknown reason, you don't lose any Health when you're riding bikes, whereas you do if you drive cars, with the added inability to exit them.

Now, after seeing Nick007J's investigation of the H/TP/EC Banshee in "The Trouble With Triads", I realised that even Heavy cars spawn back on land after going through water, and got an idea. The H/BP/FP/PP/TP/EC/PC Landstalker has a specific flag that prevents it from disappearing until you store it in the garage for the first time. What if we throw it in the water? Will it respawn back on the nearest road instead of vanishing for good? So, I got the car to the pier next to Asuka's condo - the same place you use to teleport back to Portland with a Heavy bike:

Spoiler

Instead of jumping in the water with the Landstalker, I bailed out at the last second, took the Predator to cross the ocean, and...

IgfMnnU.jpg

I didn't use the Reefer + Speeder pier because the subway tunnel passes underneath, and caused me problems with the Landstalker; the car would usually remain on top of the tunnel, and wouldn't fall down, and it was kinda hard to throw it in a way so it does without respawning on Staunton Island and/or you getting wasted. In conclusion: You can complete "See the Sight Before Your Flight" in a Starter Save and keep the Landstalker. If you don't want the car for a future Save File, you can just ditch it anytime you want.

I don't think you can do ALL StSBYF Missions unless you have a WP Bike, though.  The Lift Bridge is intact when you start StSBYF, but not the Callahan Bridge, thus needing the PCJ-600 from 9MM Mayhem in order to do this.  And for unknown reasons, 9MM Mayhem always adds Attempts on PS2 for me once it's completed.  It's not only PS2, either.  The same thing happens to me on iOS.  I tried both numerous times, but it's not worth butchering a Starter Save's Stats, thus tainted for all future 100% Save Files just to get this PCJ-600 which is fragile as f*ck unless it's DP.  If it wasn't for the Stats issue, then I'd consider completing this Side Mission in the Starter Save, but since it can't be done without continuously adding +1 to both PS2 and iOS for me, I leave it incomplete and do it when SSV becomes unlocked...

Also, when you throw it into the water (Landstalker) where exactly in Portland did it spawn?  Did you drive around aimlessly trying to find it or something?  I am a bit confused as to where it spawns after throwing it into the water near Asuka's...

Because some people are looking for an actual challenge and want to work for something that they want, unlike some people who want sh*t handed at them for accomplishing nothing.

This.  Some of these GTA's, especially SA, LCS, and VCS became ruined by some of these people.  So ruined, that I don't even want to play them anymore or be associated with the community who eats, sleeps, and breathes breaking the game at all costs to "get what they want, handed to them."  Thankfully, I won't touch the 3D Era for the next 6+ Months.  Bored of it.  Games are officially ruined and broken...In before someone moans over this comment...

You should try passing the mission and getting the PCJ without DP, but that's enough. Also, the first level is in ssv and the second in staunton.

I recommend completing only 11 Levels because a Landstalker, even if you would want to obtain it, takes up space in the portland garage.

If you weren't be anti om0, there is an instapass for one level each (by starting with vigilante running) and a skip for every 2nd (by duping).

Holy sh*t.... The See the Sight Before your Flight Landstalker being transported to Portland... Awesome! It's also nice to get the EC Black Landstalker, EC Black Bobcat and EC Patriot with Black Bumpers to get back to Portland to make them all H/BP/DP/PP/EC Black... It would be better than the normal H/DP/PP/EC Black Bobcat found in Love & Bullets...

Well with the OM0 Conversions you can't do much with that StSBYF Landstalker, you'd only have it in Portland. So honestly it's a great achievement to do, but not needed in the end. It's best to not even do these 12 Side Missions in the Starter Save in my opinion.

Of course, this isn't a Special Vehicle or OM0 Topic, but I'm just mentioning what's possible to do in a Starter Save.

Because Side Missions are so hard to complete that you need OM0 to pass them, right?

honestly it's a great achievement to do, but not needed in the end. It's best to not even do these 12 Side Missions in the Starter Save in my opinion.

These are not initially Heavy, so you'll have to push them with the Reefer. You can use the course menu if you want them for OM0 Saves (why else would you need to bring them back to Portland early, anyway?), that is, if you find an area that doesn't crash the game, but I think this is too much. A lot of things can go wrong from crossing the islands and starting "AWOL Angel" to getting your hands on the desired vehicle, which makes the boat method the safest and less time-consuming in the long run.

Ironically, it's not needed only for the Save File you actually need the Landstalker, since you might want to collect other stuff from Portland. For Save Files you don't need the car, like I said, you can just dump it at your leisure.

you can't teleport vehicles with properties using Bumps and Grinds since they will loose all properties

Because Side Missions are so hard to complete that you need OM0 to pass them, right?

Didn't say that. I meant that it is impossible to pass a few levels without a H bike so it is an option to skip/instapass them thus getting them done.

Has been said a few times already.

Just start a course while in the desired car and boom, you have it.

I decided to look more into this method, since pushing cars with the Reefer can be annoying at times, but unfortunately, the game kept crashing. I think the place you are in and the course you activate are factors regarding the game's decision to crash or not, so I tried various courses in different places, even along the coast to be as close to the dirt track as possible, but found no successful result. I even tried to start course 1 near the bridge where you obtain the H/AP/PP Banshee, but to no avail. So my guess is the vehicle you drive plays a role as well. I remember attempting to start courses inside the Hunter to get it out of the garage, but the game was crashing like crazy. I tried the exact same thing inside other vehicles I had in the garage, and it worked, and the location was obviously barely any different.

In conclusion, the course menu is quite unreliable when it comes to transporting (non-proofed) vehicles back to Portland early. The Reefer method remains the most consistent one. That said, I'm trying to find an ideal location in either Staunton Island or Shoreside Vale to clip vehicles underneath the map and use the tunnel to bring them to Portland. I've had no success so far, but still keep looking.

EDIT: Okay, so I somehow got beneath Staunton Island, tried to snipe various vehicles' tyres, but nothing happened. How does this clipping thing even work? Why do vehicles just fall down in some areas but not others? Also, a part of Staunton Island seemed impossible to investigate, as the tunnel roof apparently becomes unsolid at some point, so I jumped right down to the rails. I tried to get around, but I can't, because of the land being directly above the tunnel, thus the bike or even Toni himself can't get through. I have a similar problem with Shoreside Vale.
