It's a very pre-teen thing to do. Why do you need to be available to text all night?

I sleep with my cell phone because I like the vibration feature.

I have an alarm on my phone instead of an alarm clock. It's good to keep it near-by.

I sleep with mine near my head or on the end table since I use it as my alarm clock. My phone stays active with texts so it can be aggravating at times.. but for some reason, my cellphone's alarm can wake me up but not my actual alarm. I guess I'm just used to the sounds of my phone more. Plus the tone I use for my alarm is rather disturbing.

I don't think it's pre-teen to sleep with your phone, some people are just very social and enjoy talking. More so females than males .. chicks love to text ffs. 'Hey call me' .. 'Srry, I cant' .. but they text you 40-50x right after. Makes sense.

I sleep with it because I use it as an alarm, not because I need to tee hee text my friends all night.

That is all.

It's also a very childish thing to assume that is the sole reason people sleep with their phones. I know a lot of people much older than me (I am 20) who use their mobiles as an alarm, it's just more convenient for them and it's right there while their phone charges up overnight.

If someone texts me late at night, 99% of the time I won't even respond. Unless it's something serious but then they can just call if it's that serious.

I just put my cell phone on the desk on the far end of my room. That way when it's alarm goes off, I have to get up, wake up properly, and turn it off, rather than just turning it off within arms reach and going back to sleep.

Quite effective.

I browse GTAF on my phone while laying in bed (doing it right now), and eventually just fall asleep with my phone right beside me. Sometimes, I wake up with it in the floor though. -_- I try to reach over and sit my phone on the table near my bed, but I'm usually too comfortable to move.

I was curious to hear about why people sleep with their cellphones. There's really no need for any personal attacks.

I saw some study a while back on pre-teens and teens who slept with their cell phones on their pillows who reported headaches until they stopped sleeping with their cell phones.

Do you all sleep with your cell phones on your pillows?

Yes, I sleep with my phone (on the nightstand). Why? Well because it has an alarm and because it is linked to my home security system. It really is as simple as that.

Yeah, but like others, only to use the alarm. And also, in case I get called into work early in the morning, but mostly the alarm. Stays on the night stand until I need it! Browsing the forums right now because I can't sleep for some reason, but I do tend to be lazy when replying to texts, and I don't pick up calls in the middle of the night, generally speaking.

Anyone who would text me knows better anyway.

No. I sleep with it on the mattress right beside me.

I don't do it for a particular reason, though. Not for texting or using it as an alarm or anything. It's just there.. So, when I wake up in the morning, I can just check it without moving. :D

No. I keep my phone on my nightstand next to the side of the bed I sleep on.

I have this alarm clock app on my iPhone tho that does require you to put your phone on your mattress because it uses motion to track your movement at night and thus wake you up when you're in the lightest sleep state. You select a time interval when you want to wake up i.e. between 6-6:30 a.m. and it'll wake you up when it detects you're in the lightest sleep state within that interval. That means you feel less drowsy when you wake up.

I was skeptical at first when I heard about it but I used it anyway and it seemed to do what it claimed.

It is nearby but in most circumstances turn it completely off. I do not want email vibration coming or beep every 15 minutes.

Same. But I'm too lazy at night to get out of my comfy bed and put it there, so I just slide it across the floor as far away as I can. :3 In cases where I absolutely need to wake up on time. If not, I leave it on my windowsill.

Yes when I use it as an alarm clock. Why in the f*ck does everybody think that every teen that is on their phone texts all of the time? I text like twice a week but some people including teachers think I text all of the time. Hello! It is 2014! Phones have useful internet access these days!

Of course I sleep with my phone, I need the alarm plus if someone needs to talk to me they can reach me without having to wait for me to wake up... which can be a long wait depending on what I did the night before.

I always switch it off at night when I go to bed, but I also keep it on the nightstand because I use it as an alarm.

I don't have a cell phone, but when I did, I sleep with it near me but never in my pocket.

Yes. I have an alarm set on it (although it's pretty useless), plus I need to be available on call 24/7 for work related issues.

I keep it where I can't hear it unless there is a situation that may require me to be available at all times. The phone alarm doesn't wake me and most everything can wait a few hours until I wake up.

I usually can't sleep without listening to music. I use my phone for that. I also surf the internet at times on the bed. I do have an alarm set up on the phone but it's pretty useless yet it is a reason why I sleep with it. I don't text all night if that's what you wanna know.

It stays near my pillow, though i'm thinking of having it on the opposite side of the room so i actually wake up and not fall back to sleep.

The only time I do that is when I've been searching for porn and forgotten my phone is in the bed.

I sleep near my phone so I could wake up to school, not to text.. People rarely text me, anyways.

No.

Although I do keep it within one meter of me when sleeping, it's recharging on my computer case. And trust me, the vibration wake-up can be pretty effective on the case. It's like a jackhammer being used right in your ear...

Hey deepthroatgta6. Thanks for following my topic. Why did you do it?

One of the things I wanted to know was who texts all night, yeah. There are some good, mature reasons to be available to text all night. Such as if you're a victim advocate.

It's by my bed, but it doesn't come to bed with me. I think my lady would disapprove (plus, I wouldn't want it in bed with me.)

Are you talking about your phone or your cat?
