I want to know do you motorcyclists think that you could coexist with scooterists? Owning a motorcycle a a scooter I love to join in group rides (either my scooter with motorcyclists, or my motorcycle with scooter rides) all of the clubs I ride with are cool with it. So what do you think on this topic?

I have no problem with people on mopeds. I probably wouldn't go on any rides with moped riders though because most of the mopeds I see here aren't even fast enough to be on the streets near me (50-55mph speed limit). I give any rider the wave, motorcycle, moped, bicycle, lol. We're all on two wheels.

No my question is...can I get some love from the Harley riders? Living in Wisconsin everybody has a Harley and they pretty much ignore you if you're on anything else. Sport bike riders seem pretty cool. I just puttputt on my Honda lol

Sorry to sound like an asshole, but I get great pleasure in intimidating scooter/vespa dudes(chicks get a pass).

@ryuclaln - I pick up/buddy ride with everything.

Yeah, if you're on a scooter, stick to the sidewalks. Real two wheeler's trying to get through. Man up and get a hog! :)

I'm not denying that, for a scooter, it's probably pretty fast, but your average 600cc sports bike has a power-to-weight ratio of about 750bhp/tonne, does 0-60 in 3 seconds and tops out at about 150mph. I certainly think you'd struggle to keep up with those and, round here at least, that's what "most" bikes are.

Good point.....Well I can keep up on the surface streets and lower speed freeways.

When I move to Arizona I am going to buy a cheap scooter for daily driving. I think they are actually pretty cool.

I almost bought a scooter once just to drive around for fun. A Honda Ruckus

Pretty cool scooter.. buddy of mine had one during our business classes and he did a few modifications to the motor so it would get up to around 55mph.. I would drive it in the parking lot all the time during our breaks, haha.

It looks like it was a lawnmower in its previous life. Though, I suppose, for a scooter, that's better than the alternative.

By the way. Something confuses me about scooters. There does not appear to be an obvious rear brake or gear shifter. Are these elsewhere, or just missing?

Every smaller scooter that I've ever stumbled across was usually an automatic and I believe the Ruckus has front and rear braking. The reason I chose the Ruckus was due to some customs I've seen built around them. No way in hell would I keep it stock.. I was even thinking of putting some mini-ape hangers on it.

But eventually, I couldn't picture myself looking like this:

Though I think scooters are great for college life or city life.. especially if it's not too heavy traffic wise or what not.. but on my bike and in my truck, I've been behind many of scooters that made me want to run them over.. I understand they're great for gas mileage as well as affordable.. but damn, just get off the road already. Put a tractor sign on it or something..
