Shttt don't tell him we forum leaders only get spray cheese!

But they told me it was real cheese.... :(

No wonder, you wouldn't have agreed with the promotion otherwise.

I didn't agree to anything, I was added as a Led-By before being given a PM... and that PM entitled no choice either

That said, I don't know why I would turn down such a thing anyway :pp

Let's just make this work in all our favors Panz and Kirsty.

Staff members in the GTAO and V Sections deserve the Medal of Honor.

The downside? Having to deal with people like theadmiral...

Downsides? Becoming bitter rubbish. :sly:
I'm not sure what his deal is anyway. I've never met him, posted with him, or had any interaction with him. LOL. I could see Otter saying it maybe. Not even sure who that guy is to be honest!
Oh don't worry about ol' Ryan, hes always like that to everybody ever since he was a led-by.

People respect you

Yeah, especially if you moderate a forum like the GTAV section. Oh wait...

In all seriousness though, 8/10 you get what you give. If you remain friendly, civil and explain why you did what you did you'll get the same civil and friendliness in return.

Shall we demonstrate how certain perks trump downsides every time?

A little ban roulette, perhaps?

<3 same place tonight right, Panz? ;)

There is no downside, I can get all up in your profile! Although perhaps sometimes most of your online time is spent looking for rule breakers or tending to reports etc, rather than getting to read and post. Gore and porn spam are the least tasty to deal with and of course when you ban someone and they re-register with KirstyIsAfa**ot :D (secretly fun).

You see people in a different light too. Respect is a part of it only when you're dishing out warnings, if you don't respect the caution you are getting, then you don't respect GTAF rules and that means you can get into my bad books. At the same time, I don't like the thought of someone treating me differently when I enter a topic and join the conversation or whatever. A blue name doesn't mean I try to lord over people. If you're a fair mod, then there are no downsides.

Heil Kirsty, the fuhrer of the forum!

If I were a moderator, I would just disagree with the majority all the time and see who would try and argue with me. You'd have the internet badasses who would be all "fight me motherf*cker", and then you'd have the ones that try to be polite but throw in indirectly offensive remarks.

And that's probably why I'm not a mod.

It is, yes. Close my threads arbitrarily, insult me, send me abusive private messages, whatever. It is anything goes here. It is like the wild west, Red Dead Redemption style.

I admit being a tad bit rude to you over my vendetta against the way you acted in the Showers thread, bit now things are going too far.

Locking the cat thread, hilarious. Locking your coffee thread, borderline retarded. It seems your topics are getting locked now just because you made them. If I had made the coffee thread, it would still be very much alive.

No, they were locked because they don't generate discussion, they generate over-sharing spam. We don't need to know how many sugar lumps you take, what colour your knickers are or what degree you cook your jacket potatoes at in the oven. An influx in these topics resulted in most of them being locked.

But don't threads like those, as useless as they may seem, spark some interesting on-topic discussion within them? I mean sh*t, how is talking about collections or arguing about a bunch of politics creating a mess of posts that nobody's ever going to read any better?

What is this, f*cking Facebook? Next stupid thread gets a week long temp. Downside of being a mod is when people assume it's OK to act like childish twats. Don't.

I'm just having a bit of trouble (seriously) understanding what we are allowed to make a topic about and what we are not allowed to make a topic about at this point. Are there any general guidelines to avoid these type of incidents? The forum says it is for anything non GTA related not covered by the other subforums.

Should we maybe PM a mod our thread idea first and get it approved?

Not knowing what is classified as "stupid" here, we mine as well remove the create topic button then.

It's normally not the topic title or subject that causes a topic to get locked but the discussions and spamming that follow.

Uh-oh, the can has officially been opened.
