I am very interested to hear from other forum members about how they take their coffee.

Do you prepare your coffee at home or buy it at a coffee shop?

Do you drink regular coffee or a mixed coffee beverage such as a Café Latte?

Do you use a regular drip machine, a French press, a Vietnamese coffee filter, or some other contraption?

What type of milk do you use? Half and half? Regular? Skim? 2%? Soy? Almond?

What type of sugar do you use? Regular? Sugar in the raw? Splenda? Equal?

How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day on average?

Please feel free to post in this thread regarding everything coffee related. If you are someone who drinks tea , you can feel free to name those in here too and specify if you use cream, no cream, or double Devonshire cream.

For me, I prepare very strong coffee in a coffee machine and put in only a bit of half and half, no sugar.

I drink a fake brand of Nescafé called; Moment soluble coffee.

Been drinking it since my grandma introduced it to me, which was when I was 9.

I use regular milk most of the time, put it in the microwave for 1:50 on 900W, put my finger in to remove the disgusting milk skinny thing.

Then I take two coffeespoons (is that what they're called?) of Moment soluble coffee, three cubes of regular sugar and drink it.

I drink it three times a day (11:00, 15:00, 21:00), except when I don't get up early enough (which is most days nowadays)

Coffee is for pussies. Real men drink cocoa.

I tried coffee many times, but somehow, I hate the taste. It's like I'm drinking dirt. I actually want to drink coffee myself so I could be awake during classes and future lectures, but I can't get used to the taste. So I only drink cocoa and hot chocolate. :p

I'm going to open this back up, since the last one from last year deader than the taste of Starf*cks' pike place market blend.

I love coffee - as with beer I'm a coffee snob. I drink it black when it's hot, and with some milk and sugar if it's cold (but not over f*cking ice). I drink it strong, medium roasts, and my favorite region is shade-grown central american.

That said, my local coffee shop's gotten in some of this stuff that's super good. They let the coffee berry essentially rot off of the bean inside so the brew is rich with a bright fruity taste. If you can find some of that, get it. It'll change your life.

YAY!!!!!!!!! Thanks Moonshield.

I like only iced coffee with lots and lots of cream and sugar. I don't like regular hot coffee. I also like coffee ice cream, icecapps, and moolates from my workplace. Which is the same thing as an icecapp from Tim Hortons, but it has ice cream! :D So I guess I'll only like cold versions. A coffee milkshake sounds good toooo!

I'm not really a big coffee drinker but when I do drink it, it's basically a milkshake. I was always fond of Folger's, though it's not some fancy roasted coffee but it gets the job done.

I'm more a Java Monster man or Monster in general than coffee to get me going. I've never had any unique coffee or brands such as Starbucks, etc.

I don't drink it I used to but I got tired of paying big money for little pleasure, and little sleep. I have to laugh at these people who have to get their Starbucks fix everyday. I could almost swear try put just a little crack in their coffee

I like mine just average; not to strong, not too light. No sugar, and just a few drops of milk - that's right; a few drops. I'll never understand the love for tea in the UK. It's so bland and tasteless...a bit like my cd collection. But then I suppose some might say the same about coffee. Yet to visit a Starbucks.

OTTER APPROVED

I was just writing a revised Coffee thread. Kinda sucks I can't finish & post it without a temp ban.

Meh guess I'll copy and post it here, maybe you can tell me if it's spam or not?

"Coffee, possibly derived from the Italian word 'caffè' is a slightly acidic caffiene based brewed beverage. Coffee is prepared using several species of seeds from the evergreen shrub of the genus Coffea

Coffea
Coffea is a genus of flowering plants, whose seeds, erroneously called coffee beans are used to make coffee. These seeds are native to tropical and southern Africa and tropical Asia. They are part of the Rubiaceae family.

The most commonly used species of coffee bean is Coffea arabica. This species, originating from Ethiopia, accounts for roughly 75-80% of the world's coffee production, thus ranking it one of the world's most valuable and widely traded commodity crops and is an important export product of several countries.

Etymology

The world's first reference to the word "coffee" in English is dated to around 1598, and is the word "chaoua". However, in many English and European languages, the word originates from the Italian word "caffé". Furthermore, "caffé" originates from "kahve", the Ottoman Turkish word for "coffee", which even further is derived from the Arabic word "qahwah".

Anyways, Arab lexicographers - people who specialise in dictionary creation -  maintain that "qahwah" was type of wine. The reason for this is that "qahwah" was given its etymology from the word "qahā", which meant "to dull one's hunger", as during those times Coffee was thought to cause a loss of appetite.

Alternatively, "coffee" was also traced to"

I wouldn't worry about it. Starbucks is overrated.

I take my coffee black.

Like my men.

Movie references yeaaahhhh! Seriously though, I hate the stuff. Mainly because even though I don't drink it, it still negatively impacts my life. No I'm not toiling on some plantation day and night picking beans, I'm talking about bad breath. The amount of people that have f*cking coffee breath... sheesh.

Merging topics because this makes no f*cking sense for me to post twice about the same sh*t. Just discuss f*cking coffee.

I'm low on it, clearly.

But to stay on-topic: I hate coffee, I don't understand what's the big deal about it and all. So, yeah.

Coffee is for the addicts. Never had one. It smells very weird. I ate some coffee flavoured chocolates though.

BTW, I guess this would be the only thread whiuch theadmiral can keep open. Won't be too surprised if this falls off in a few days too.

If I'm at home and want a cup of coffee, I'll grind up some Café Altura or some other organic, Fair Trade, Rain Forest Alliance, Biodynamic and slash or shade grown coffee.

Are those gay labels for coffee? Is burnt coffee like Folgers a man's coffee?

Anyway. I'll put a bit of whole milk in it until the tint increases a few shades and add some hot cocoa mix.

If I'm at a coffee shop, I'll be adventurous and try something, anything new.

The oils in coffee can cause bad cholesterol which normally would get left on the paper or cloth filters you might use in your drip coffee machine don't get absorbed or caught by the larger mesh filter on a french press.

Fair trade aims to protect the farmer instead of the big multinationals, do you consider that gay?

It's really worrisome the increasing amount of ignorant and retarded posts around the forums lately...

I'm with you on the tea thing, never been a fan, can't understand why so many people drink it.

As for coffee, I can't live without the stuff. I usually buy fresh, ground coffee, always fairtrade. I don't have a favorite blend though, I like to try new flavours whenever I can. I use a French press, I'm in pretty good shape so don't worry too much about cholesterol.

My first coffee of the day is usually strong, with lots of milk (gold top or raw preferably) and sugar, like a pre-breakfast, breakfast. Otherwise, I'm happy to drink it black with no sugar.

I drink that daily.

I like the coffee with milk, and it's your average type of filter coffee. In vacations or in restaurants, I prefer to have cappuccino instead of a latte (which is the type I drink at home, I guess). I used to drink like 8-10 big-ass cups per day (the cup is about the size of a 0,33 liter can) but then I just quit for some reason for a while, now it's around 2-5 those cups per day.

And to everyone who panics and goes all "OH MY GOD, YOUR HEART WILL FAIL SOON FOR SO MUCH CAFFEINE!", I also frequently drink energy drinks. Other people smoke in my school, I drink energy drinks. We all got our addiction apparently.

Anyway, I have not had cardiac arrest or had all my teeth fall off yet, which is a good sign I guess.

I love any ice cream, jelly bean, or chocolate that has a Java flavor to it yet I have never actually tried coffee before... well I did when I was really young but I can only faintly remember the taste.

I love Starbucks though. I really love going there. In fact I may go on Friday and try something other than a Frappucino.
