These modern day settings (GTA 4 & 5) are making the series get worse. i do like the concept but it makes the games feel less classic.. or it could be the horrible modern day music we have nowadays that just kill the whole theme of GTA

The radio channels has a great mix of both modern and older music.

and btw, I like the current control settings a lot.

vice and san andreas were the only 2 games clearly in another time period right?

the rest were either current or not really clear and there's even one in the future (gta 2)

but yeah maybe you're onto something

do think vice city and san andreas had the best time period

but what would you suggest they do?

they did the 80's and 90's and now we're in the new millenium

maybe go back to the 70's or 60's

could be cool to do like the start of MC's right after the Vietnam war or something

Agreed. I like games set in older times and gta could be done in any era with cars, although anything prior to the sixties would struggle to present a diverse compliment of vehicles.
I'm ready for another RDR, curious to see if they go prior or after 1911, the year John Marston met his demise.

You mean like how IV had the scrapes only option, then V just made the whole game scrapes only?

This is what R* looks like when they turn into plastic, pump-it-out Disney spunk. It's okay though, they'll probably still make a decent GTA VI before the company goes completely to sh*t. If Bethesda ever does vehicles in Fallout, R* will be in trouble. Hell, if Volition ever figures out how to do vehicles in Saint's Row and if they figure out how to make a decent map, they could fully sink R*.

Edit: oh, the setting as in where the world is! I don't think that matters at all. VC and SA were awesome but for many reasons besides visual style. SA is probably still the series king.

I want GTA VI to be set in 1650 BC Egypt so we can play as Hyksos invaders and take over lower Egypt.

To be fair, the next one will probably have a huge map with a few different cities in it. I've said it before but supposedly it was the 360 holding this concept back due to the limited space on DVD's. I wouldn't be surprised if air travel was a necessity in 6.

Good point. I think GTA VI will be Liberty City honestly. If you watch the movie Michael was involved in you will see quite a bit of modeling done for New York/Liberty City including a "Central Park".

You are correct. They were limited with what they could do thanks to the 360 not using blu-ray.
