Hi guys, I just wanted to see if anybody knew how to make a vehicle in San Andreas sound different. For example, let's say I wanted to make the Taxi's engine sound like the Perennial engine, or the Wayfarer's engine sound like the BF-400's engine etc. etc. etc. I already know how to add new vehicle sounds in, also I was thinking if it has something to do with the handling.cfg file, to make each vehicle have a set engine sound. If anybody can even give me a tiny bit of help then it would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for reading. :)

As far as I know, the only current way is to swap the ID lines of the cars. Just change the ID of the car to the other for example:

420, taxi, taxi, car, TAXI, TAXI, null,	taxi, 10, 0,	1f10, -1, 0.7, 0.7, 0

404, peren, peren, car, PEREN, PEREN, null,	poorfamily,	10, 0,	0, -1, 0.66, 0.66, 0

Edit it to:

404, taxi, taxi, car, TAXI, TAXI, null,	taxi, 10, 0,	1f10, -1, 0.7, 0.7, 0

420, peren, peren, car, PEREN, PEREN, null,	poorfamily,	10, 0,	0, -1, 0.66, 0.66, 0

Now the Perennial will have the Taxi engine sound and the Taxi will have the Perennial's engine sound. It was mentioned as being a fix for the Benson and Yankee engine sound confusion on the GTA.WIKIA. Good luck, hope I helped a bit ;)

Thanks, you did help me. Also, last night I was looking into this type of thing further and I found an ASI file (paired with a CFG file) that does what I was looking for. If you're interested, take a look here.
