We know that 96% of us glitched or hacked or received money.

Proud to be part of the 4%

And I think resetting everyone's bank balance to $500,000 would be the fairest way forward. Doesn't leave us potless, but still puts everyone on a level playing field.

Already got mine taken away, including the $450k I had prior to getting my big bounty. Back up to $100k now.

10 mins later a hacker finds a way around and start gifting billions again.

Face it... this game will never be safe.

NEVER EVER.... ANY ONLINE GAME WILL HAVE EXPLOITS

but GTA IS ONE OF THE MOST PLAYED GAMES OF ALL TIME

so actually I'm not giving a f*ck.

If they reset me and my money, I'll wait a couple of days and get new hacks for money and god mode.

I'll win anyway.

"earned" being LSC glitch, right?

Take it. I'd rather be broke again, jacking stores for change and selling cars. Before all that money was dropped on me, i'd already earned my way past 120, bought all guns, lived in nearly every apartment in LS, and had all 10 cars I wanted. All bought with legit, earned cash. 8 of those 10 cars were fully modded, and at the time the money was dumped on me i'd already had enough to mod #9. I won't miss that cash; took the purpose away.

Finally someone who understands!!!

No it wouldn't be fair in the slightest.

I legitimately earned nearly $800,000 before I was gifted anything.  How the hell is it fair for me (and others in my situation) to be at a loss because of the action of some wannabe hackers?

I'm buying a couple cash cards anyway 'cos there is no way I am putting up with Simeon and gerald's sh!tty low paying missions again.  I'm loving being able to finally play the game as it was intended.  Worrying about how many bullets I'm firing is not my idea of fun!

Back to grinding for next to nothing then(!)

Do missions on hard, they get you a lot of money, and if you're not that good in GTA: O I could always help you.

Those missions get pretty stale after a few hundred times each.

The bottom line is Rockstar is going down this route because:

(1) the glitches are created by Rockstar themselves albeit unintentionally when creating new patches and game updates, it's their duty to fix such issues.

(2) they're loosing out MASSIVELY on cash cards when ALOT of players are recieving millions and/or billions either by sharing, god mode, bounties etc, just open up your calculator and work out exactly how much in game money you have and compare how much that would cost if you equate it to buying cash cards to have the same amount, it mounts up to quite a large figure just for one single player nevermind the other thousands upon thousands,

(3) If the current issues wern't fixed at some point I very much doubt we'd see features like the BAWSAQ stock markets, the potential casino & heists... Imagine dumping $2 or $4 billion into a single stock online and multiply that for every other person who would do the same... Imagine placing the same amount of cash in a game of Roulette or Poker etc, as for heists well you wouldn't do them because you already have a substantial amount of money..

That's 3 issues I can quickly think of from the top of my head, you've got to look at these issues with some logic and common sense to understand why Rockstar are doing what they're doing, yes you may consider it unfair but let's be honest majority of us would rather have a balanced economy within LS, a sound structure where you can't gain a financial advantage via glitches & exploits etc.. Rockstar managed to find solutions to the LSC glitches albeit after a couple of patch attempts but keep faith in Rockstar, they aren't screwing you over personally, remember this AFFECTS EVERYONE who plays their product so it's only right they attempt to make it fair for every player.

So you admit you were gifted money (as I do) and still argue it would be unfair for R* to take that away?

You already said you legitimately earned $800,000, so a reset to $500,000 would mean you'd be down $300,000 - is that so bad if the result is that it puts everyone on a level playing field?

I've never denied I've been gifted money but yes would is unfair to punish players who have never hacked, glitched or cheated.

Considering I have no interest in deathmatches and LTS $300k from grinding missions, selling stolen cars and riding out bounties is a hell of a lot to me.

I've finally been able to play the game how I thought it would be (a mix of mucking about and working through missions rather than just mission after mission over and over again) when I first started and now R* are going to take that away because they couldn't get their security up to a reasonable standard.  It is absolutely ludicrous!  Fair enough, take away cash and RP from hackers and glitchers, they deserve it, but not those of us who have been honest and not taken advantage.

You won't be punished if your were just gifted money and haven't cheated. What will happen is you will have that money stripped. I know you read about innocent people being banned or put into the cheater pool. While Im sure there have been some screwups. Most of those people are LYING. They are being banned for the DNS cheats sharing glitched bounties and other hacks.

And how is this not a punishment, "having your money stripped"????? Like how do you have the stones to say they're not punishing someone, who through no fault of their own, received millions? I consider that a punishment and I'm sure a few people would agree with me. Listen, punish the people who caused this problem and take your(r*) losses on the people who were victims of modders and hackers. Any sort of reset for a legit player who didn't share ANY money with ANYONE is a punishment in my mind.

Edit:The correct and most non intrusive way to deal with this would be to have people file tickets with them if they want their $ reset. Rather than taking the easy way out and resetting stuff en masse. But yeah hate away...

As i said, the gifted cash allowed me to play the game how I've always wanted to play it.  Loosing it means I'll be back to spending hours at a time grinding on mind numbing low paying missions.  Deathmatches and LTS are a waste of time as I have no clue what I'm doing there and die instantly.  Races are hit and miss and Capture is a huge let down which I find boring.  All that leaves me with are missions and car jacking which I'm very good at but the payouts are not great.  Therein lies my issue with honest players being stripped of gifted cash.  I very much doubt there is much of my legitimate earnings left because I've been enjoying the game as it is meant to be enjoyed.

I filed a ticket for the first $100mill but never heard back.

I'm not hating, I'm merely pointing out the flaw in resetting everyone back to $500k.  For me it's a $300k loss, for others who have played for longer and are able to make more cash at this than I am it's an even bigger kick in the stones!  I'll probably just buy a couple of cash cards and concede defeat to R*.

But if you've been spending the money you were gifted, on things you would have otherwise been unable to afford, then you HAVE been taking advantage.

Your logic is a little like someone in court claiming that the $50,000 they found lying in the street after a bank robber dropped it during his escape, shouldn't be taken away from them, just because they had nothing to do with the robbery.
