I've never really understood why people shower at night, then get into a bed which may not have had the linens washed in a week (or more) , sleep in it all night, and then feel as if they are a clean and hygienic person when they wake up in the morning.  They throw some water on their face, and head on out the door about their business.

Could anyone explain? What is the point of taking a shower at night unless it is in addition to a shower in the morning? How many times to you bathe a day? Please feel free to comment on the above topic and your bathing habits in general in this thread.

So you like sleeping in your own sweat and dirt accumulated from the whole of the day?

I do agree though about it being weird not showering in the morning.

You are sleeping in filth unless you wash your sheets every other day or something anyway. That is why I feel the best course of action is to shower first thing in the morning , again in the evening, and regularly wash your sheets. I am more talking about the people who just take one at night and say that it is the same level of cleanliness as someone who showers in the morning or does both.

my girlfriend is a nurse in the ER who likes to work overnight shifts (more money).

she often showers at night.

I've noticed women can tend to shower at night because it gets their hair ready for the next morning which means they can get out the door to work a lot quicker. everyone's got their own schedule. what's so hard to understand about that?

Well you know how you just came back from exploring some old building/tunnel/nuclear missile base and you're covered in all sorts of crap? That's how you shower at night.

I subvert this whole issue by sleeping in my own sh*t.

The fact that she probably smells horrible in the morning and goes to work in a hospital in a  relatively unsanitary condition? Many women will shower but not wash their hair to avoid that problem.

Unless you mean she showers, then goes to work a night shift, then goes to sleep afterwards. That is relatively normal for her seeing as she is on an opposite schedule.

I'm just confused as to why you'd say her race has something to do with how she smells. Care to elaborate? I'm not your bro, BTW! friend or whatever else will do.

I'm sure she's not going to get this one either.

@topic; I can't remember the last time I had a shower at night, unless I've come back from a haircut late in the evening. On holidays, I can go without a shower for the whole day.

Oh right, implying that all white people smell better than other races sure is really sarcastic and funny and not at all racist.. I don't know how I missed that one.

I exercise every morning so I shower before work. I go cycling or jogging late afternoon/early evening at least twice a week, so I jump in the pool when I get home :)

My girlfriend usually takes a quick shower in the morning, but a long bath/shower at night.

If I feel hot and sticky at night, I would just take a quick dip in the pool.

- tired and need to have a warm shower to loosen the muscles up

I've actually never understood why some people shower before work? Just slap some deo on and hit the door. Especially in certain trades. I was construction/welding and now grease monkey.. but I rather shower at night, get relaxed and sleep.. wake up, shave, brush the teeth, slap some deo on and then go to work. Since I'm going to get sweaty and dirty anyways, what's the point of wasting quality h2o?

Only time I've ever really showered in the morning was if I woke up sweaty or a night of passionate minute sex or superbly hungover.

I shower in the morning and I typically go for a run in the evenings so I also shower at night. Maybe a bit overkill but whatever.

I couldn't imagine spending all day smelling badly, it would definitely preoccupy my mind.

I know that a lot of girls do it because our hair is typically long and an absolute bitch to dry in the mornings. So, it just dries naturally at night, which is better for it than using a hair dryer anyway.

I prefer showering in the morning, but I tend to shower at night out at college when I have to wake up early in the mornings.

^This. If I don't have the time to blow dry my hair in the morning + straighten (takes about an hour) I will air dry it in the night after a shower. But generally I only take baths at night and do take showers in the morning. But I honestly don't give a crap if I'm dirty because my bedsheets haven't been washed. It's not the worst possible way to be "dirty"

Showering at night is easier because of cleaning away the day, relaxing before bed and having time to do your hair.

On an early shift day I have to leave the house by 7:15. There is no way I'm going to get up even earlier when I struggle enough as it is (I'm a terrible morning person) to have a shower and do my hair, then potentially reverse it all an hour later by going out in bad weather for my 45 minute bus/walk commute + 8 hour shift + another 45 bus/walk commute home + a session in the gym after work a few times a week.

It makes sense for me and my schedule to have a great cleanly relaxing long shower before I go to bed. I do admit though that on occasions I do shower in the morning as well and it is a great way to wake you up. I also shower a lot in the mornings during summers, but that's just obvious because of the heat/sweat etc. Generally though I'd rather have more sleep than have to do as I explained above.

You're full of assumptions about other people admiral, yet according to you my sheets are filthy and I smell like sh*t everyday because of this schedule :p

In the winter I shower once a day, usually around 7pm because it's the best time for me.

But right now in the summer... 5 minutes after the bath and I am already sweating. It's f*cking disgusting! If I need to get out home I will surely have a shower before, no matter how many times per day.

I'm an overly hygienic guy. Btw:

Actually, second to an ex-classmate of mine, asian girls (specifically japanese) have the best smell. In reality it's more of a matter of diet than race.

Here in Brazil there's even a word that reffers to black people's smell: "bodum" , which means the bad smell of transpiration of a negro. Of course it doesn't apply to everybody. However, it is true that the more melanin a person has in her skin, the more prone she is to produce smelly sweat.

I didn't assume anything Kirsty. I just said that your sheets are filthy unless you wash them every other day (everyones are, factual statement) and that you spend the entire day dirtier if you sleep in these sheets then do not shower in the morning (Factual statement). The optimal routine would be showering at night to clear off dirt from the day, and showering again to clear off dirt from sleeping in unwashed sheets and drooling or whatever else you do in your sleep. I never used the word sh*t either.

Why in the world is it your concern when people shower?

Are you the cleanliness police?

Jesus, everyone has different schedules. Some people have to get up at 5 a.m. to be at work on time, sometimes they don't have time to shower in the morning. Especially women considering there's more involved and their hair takes longer to dry. It's not in and out for them. Pretty much what Kirsty said.

Also why the hell does every goddamn thread turn into some race war? I swear, some of you have a knack for this. You see the word "white" or "black" or "purple" and laser focus on it to turn a thread into some race debate or gain points by accusing the other person of being a closet-racist.

Grow the f*ck up and find better things to focus on in life. theadmiral, seriously, just because someone doesn't shower at the time you deem correct and just because they don't have the same personal hygiene habits as you does not mean they are unclean or filthy or whatever other word you would like to describe them as.

Nothing against you but relax, bro.

Wow, what a rage filled post over just a simple question/curiosity I posted. Why don't you go post that same rant in the masturbation thread, the boner thread, the recent purchases thread, the last time you got laid thread, the last time you got a boner thread, the last time you took a dump thread, the sexual preference thread, and the sexual preference of your cat thread.
