I totally agree. I have to say the pine trees, grass etc look SO good, specially on "extra sunny" mode weather day. Bu the immersion of being in the wild is killed by traffic so close. Lets see, if there is a PC version thats easily terrain-moddable maybe this can be fixed!

Last night I played SA and I think I finally get what is the problem IMO with the countryside, I hope someone notice that as well. SA's trees and plants are a lot BIGGER in size, each one, that's why those forests looks dense and big, it's because the trees are taller and bigger. V's trees are small and maybe that's the reason why forests looks smaller...

SA doesn't have so much vegetation like RDR, but it looks fine because the size of objects is way bigger.

Can you imagine the vegetation mods that will surely appear if this game is released for PC  :panic:

Think Skyrim....but from a Buzzard

No life, a lack of exclusivity, nothing to do and generally inauthentic doesn't help the wildernesses, you almost always have to run away from other plays to go there too, no one just 'goes there'

GTA SA is not a spinoff it is a main game but it is part of GTA 3 and it's universe.

I would call SA a spinoff, it's a very good spinoff but a spin off none the less. The numbered games are always a big deal as they usually add something new to the series. With III we got 3d, IV had HD graphics plus euphoria and V had the multi protagonist system and GTA online. They could have easily called this game GTA:Los Santos but what they did with it was too ambitious for it to not be a numbered game. Don't get me wrong SA is one of the best in the series but it didn't offer anything big enough for me to think of it as anything other than a spinoff of III in the same way that TBOGT, TLAD and CTW are spinoffs of IV.

Kind of make me wonder what GTAVI will do to earn its number? Maybe a vastly destructible city or something like demon souls where people can interact with others during single player or maybe just go full on MMO and have the main story included in online, it's fun to speculate

I found this to be the most remote, forested part of the map . It's in the Chilliad State Wilderness. Cannot imagine how great this will be in the next-gen version.

The whole map is messed up. The desert and Alamo Sea should've been to the east of Los Santos like in real life, Mount Josiah should go away completely, Mount Chilliad should be where the current desert is, and the whole top half of the map should've been a nice forest.

Well, in fact, I'd say that all the forest areas (Raton canyon, Chiliad State Wilderness, Paleto Forest) are the most interesting, because even if it lack a good atmosphere, you actually feel WAAAY more isolated than in the desert.

Grand Señora Desert is a major let down, you can be anywhere in this region, you'll never feel as if you were in a real desert. And all the statement in-game like "Grande Señora Desert is 600 miles wide" "It's a place devoid of life in the middle of nowhere" sound so fake, it makes me cringe every time !

About Paleto forest, I guess that one thing could have been awesome for the atmosphere : a lake or a real river. The highway should have been placed behind the aerial tramway station in order to make the forest feels bigger and not cut in two, and then R* could have put a lake.

And I agree : Grand Señora Desert should have been placed east of Los Santos.

Would have been better. But I also think that they could have just put the Paleto forest where Mount Josiah now is. It seems as if they included the Paleto forest at the last minute. I'd love Rockstar to go into detail on why they chose for this geography of the map.

GTA V might have added some new things, but it was nothing that major and most of the other things it brought weren't really good. Personally the only thing the game has going for it is graphics, it has dumbed down gameplay to a point where SA looks better in some aspects and it doesn't have as much content as SA either. It's not worthy of a number at all. Only reason it's a number is because R* are officially taking the sh*tty new route.

imagine how nice Paleto forest would have been if rockstar did not put like 3 major roads running through the forest....MAJOR fail....I was thinking it was such a shame.....it really kills the feeling of being in the wilderness..... if you stand at any point in the forest, just by looking left or right you will see cars cruising, lol.....it's totally lame.

why rockstar? why?

Thing is, it was a necessity for Rockstar to put all those roads on the map cause where are people gonna drive when theyre doing races? If there wasnt that many roads then people would complain about there not being enough roads to do races on.

GTA V is a new GTA game by its self, it has nothing to do with GTA San Andreas nor is it re-creation of GTA SA. Your comment is invalid, i do agree when people say that game should have more in it, but LG didnt let that happen.

Actually, V is spin off but R* said somewhere (can't remember where), that because it's their biggest game and developing took a lot of time, they thought it deserves to be called 'V', instead it could easily be called GTA: LS-BC or whatever, but i'm not 100% sure about this. Anyway, SA is spin-off, although many people constant SA & VC as the best GTA games, it doesn't matter how good they are, they are still spin-offs.

P.S: If you are looking on V like new entry but use the proof that every new entry GTA makes something revolutionary, (example: III - first 3D, IV - new graphic, engine) then V didn't brought anything new to the franchise.

Even though these new consoles are capable of having in depth/dense forests, I doubt Rockstar will change anything. You're right, Rockstar is not of the same caliber anymore. They're getting mediocre and it feels like they're going for "good enough" instead of "the best or nothing" these days.

Incase you didn't know, R* did a superb job of Half Assing the hell out of V's Map. Not only Map Design but what's inside the map too.

That's pretty much all of it, and it really does look rather unimpressive.

3.yeah GTA 5 NPCs are smarter than any GTA NPCs,for example:
1.They use their phones unlike Other GTAs
2.They Call the cops on you when you are commiting violences unlike unlike Other GTAs
3.They notice what around them i.e i bought a new car and an npc was praising it unlike other GTAs.
4.you can interact with then unlike other GTAs
5.They are more active i.e running, jogging, excercising, and even seeing f*cking hookers
i could continue but i am just tired of typing
@Showstopper26
How is that trolling? It looks like you dont like when people say sh*t about "Your best GTA of All Time,GTA San Andreas",i have the right to comment and that my opinion, fact GTA San Andreas was the Saints row of the series plus that was the game that influence saints row stupidity

Guess what mate? Those points I've tagged with the bold, is available in GTA IV.

Any of the 3D Universe maps would have probably been more interesting in HD than the GTA 5 one.

Sad there's no improvement in that crucial area.

The forest of GTA V, actually upset me. A little, I was expecting a dense woodland, to get lost in, if you look at it from above say in a chopper, there's a lot of trees, but it's all spaced out.
