Im using the tornado hardtop-look the most like her (58 Plymouth fury)
And vigero with the butterfly blower for the charger...i used the sabre but it just didnt seem right, the sabre is what i used for the Faster chevelle

Sultan is a 96-98 civic all the way to the rear quarter panels then its a lexus is at its rear but has AWD...its a mix but well done

Ill take a pic of my garage tomorrow for u guys. How do u post a snapmatic pic, it just gives me a link (Im using a galaxy s2)

I swear the Sultan is a 1st Gen Lexus IS/ Toyota Altezza (Mostly due to the side profile and rear end), the Lancer EVO V (From the Hood vents and rear spoiler), and elements of the 1st Gen Subaru Impreza and Lancer EVO VIII.

I think the sabre looks more like a 1970 cutlass, the tail lights are damn near the same

My friend insists that the Sabre Turbo is a Chevelle, when really it is a '70 Skylark with '70 Cutlass taillights

Also that body line along the rear and front fenders makes it closer to the Cutlass. But the Skylark, Chevelle, and Cutlass have always looked pretty similar to each other.

True, all those A bodies are basically the same, small differences, But, for the sabre, I think it was modeled after the cutlass mostly.

This is a good thread!

You can tell your friend that they are wrong LOL!  I can definitely see, if a 70 skylark had a baby with a 70 cutlass, you would have the sabre LOL

I've seen people argue that there is no new Camaro because the Gauntlet is a Challenger and the Dominator is a Mustang, its two rivals. But really the Gauntlet is just a third generation Challenger with the pointed front fascia and tail lights of a fifth gen Camaro.

You're really on top of things lol. I have one for you. Have you ever noticed that the flip-up headlamps on the Ruiner are almost identical to the ones on a Z31 300ZX? Although obviously it's majorly a Camaro/Firebird

Good one. I complete lost interest in that car when I see all the custom options for it make it look like some ricer crap.

Just found this pic:

The Firebird had somewhat similar lights:

The Stratum has elements of the R32 (The front end), and the Ingot has the rear end of a Nissan Stagea.

Im aware of the license plate thing, but seriously i couldn't care less. The game already follows CA's typical license plate pattern of 0XXX000, which is realistic enough. if the car is black, its getting the black license plate.  Blue, getting the blue license plate.  I don't play the game to see pinpointed accurate recreation of california's motor vehicle code.  I suppose you don't want us to drive two tone black and white vehicles as well, since that is illegal in CA.

sorry if I'm coming off as a dick, as I consider myself a car guy also and misconceptions about vehicles annoy me sometimes but i think that license plate stuff is petty.

I just added the license plate thing as fluff. But it is something that gets me sometimes as I love classic cars and vehicles like the Sandking and the Adder do not deserve that plate.

People calling the Sultan a full fledged Subaru Impreza, that sh*t pisses me off to no end.

Right. It reminds me more of an Lancer/Civic then it does a Impreza

More so the Lancer V/ VIII and Lexus IS 250.

Hold on... An IS250 is nothing like the sultan. I think you mean the IS300! & maybe one of the reasons why people call it a subi is because some of the mods available are similar to the Sti.

But anyways, I can totally get what OP is saying here. I smh when little kids try to school me on what a certain car is on the game compared to RL cars. But I must admit, I do pretend some of the cars on GTA are other cars IRL. Like for example I pretend my Imponte Ruiner is a 240sx / Rx7 fc. I know it's based on a Iroc z / Trans am

Yeah, I meant  the IS 200/300, get them confused since I'm used to calling it by the Toyota named version; the Altezza.

Sultan is a MIX of the Impreza and IS300.

Just like the Gauntlet being a mix of the Challenger and Camaro.

Read what the first point:

The Vigero is a 1969 Chevy Camaro, not a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. The Buccaneer would be a better option as the body lines are closer (~67 GTO) and they are both considered to be muscle cars while the Vigero/Camaro is considered a pony car.

As the owner of a first gen camaro (68) I will agree that the vigero is surely based off of all three years. The double round headlights resemble the 67 although the inside lights would really be smaller marker lights. The side lines of the vigero are similar to the 67/68 and the lack of the wing windows make it favor the 68. The rear tail lights are based off of the 69 camaro and was the only year out of the three with that look. The only thing that is a deal breaker on the vigero is the fender side mirrors! They are horrible and ruin the one car I was counting on in this game and for that I have never even owned one in this game even though my real 68 camaro is one of my favorite cars of all time. I prefer to cruise in the pheonex with the upgraded "camaro" front end with no spoiler and ground effects. It truly does look like a second gen camaro! The ruiner is close to a 3rd gen camaro but those headlights are crap lol. No 4th gen look alike so ill move on to the gauntlet. I love the look of this car and there is no doubt that both the new challenger and the 5th gen camaro comes together to make one sweet gta ride! Headlights and hood are all challenger while the pointed front end, quarter panel gills and tail lights are all camaro. The side of the car could go either way but I would almost say camaro. Well played rockstar.

  • The Gauntlet is not a Camaro, it is a Dodge Challenger. While it does share some features of the new Camaro (tail lights, rear break vent peaked front), the fact that is own made by Bravado makes it a Dodge product and there for the Challenger.

The gauntlet is definitely a dodge challenger lookalike. Pretty close match except for the rear light cluster on the dodge in real life. I wish we could get right hand drive challengers and camaros here in uk.

We wouldn't be able to run those hemi's with our fuel prices though!

Black 'n' yellow licence plate looks best on most cars (at least the ones I own), so I don't pay attention to it

The Buccaneer is a 1963-1965 Buick RIviera:

+1, well the front end is at least. The earlier models had the headlights in the grille, but in '65 they got hidden.

1965-buick-riviera-at-car-show.jpg

headlight detail, posted as a link because its a huge pic: http://media.carandd...-s-1280x782.jpg

I guess the rear is a little like the '66 Riviera, again linked pic because its huge: http://upload.wikime...-_Rear_View.jpg

The OP makes a good case for the Vigero being an early camaro, but I feel the rear looks more mopar to me late 60s early 70s Barracuda ? its not exactly like it but sort of has that flavour about it

I always figured the Sabre was a '70 Olds 442 (or around there anyway).
