I'm just wondering what kind of disposable income you all have for games, nights out on the town, leisure, etc. Feel free to post your checking account balance in this thread. Obviously it is not mandatory. Please remember to designate the type of currency so no one gets confused.

It is a simple question and not obscene or profane in any way. Just a curiosity.

The thread idea isn't a bad idea.  Maybe just the title.

Double income and no kids for us.  That means we spend what ever the f*ck we want for our entertainment.  No budget needed.

Edit:

crazy ass ninja mod skills 'round here.  made my post look all chump like now.

It's kinda like this:

stock-photo-full-wallet-65646829.jpg

I've got a good deal of money saved in my wallet, about 500 or so in the bank (with interest), and at least 300 or so in emergency money I keep in an undisclosed location in my room

Most of it goes to model trains, but I'm gonna try to buy a plane ticket once I graduate, which'll be up around the 200 range.

I might venture to say that to somewhere with trains.

A plane ticket to where?

And to answer the OP. I have about $400 in the bank/on hand*, $2,000 in Treasury Bonds, and $2,500 in bonds from Turkey, Brazil, and Russia.

*The only truthful statement.

If I worked full time at my current job I'd be pulling in about 75K a year as a truck driver (local), but am currently in the interview process for various police forces in Canada. Good chunk of money in some tech and high yield dividend stocks.

I make $7.50 an hour working at a movie theater. I could techincally take a couple of years off because my late grandfather left a rather generous sum of money to me, but I'd rather keep it as a rainy day fund.

Tell me about it, I seriously have less than $100 in my account right now. The prices for the textbooks I need are criminal. Revise a paragraph here, re-name a chapter there, and VOILA! A $400 textbook that is almost a complete copy of the much-cheaper previous edition.

I'm not sure why someone changed the thread title to something entirely different (Salary vs checking account balance) I was asking about disposable on hand income. But I guess this works too.

Probably so hackers or scammers don't know the exact amount of money people have and feel the need to go and try rob people of it.
