I'm 99% sure this is not a placebo effect. ALL cars now are turning more GTA4-esque, and the tail of RWD cars is now skidding with greater force when taking a sharp turn in high speed.

Driving now feels more balanced and refined, you feel the actual weight on your car.

Edit: It applies in SP too.

You mean patch 1.08, right?

1.07 was released a while ago.

Well the handling in handling.dat is still the same except for:

From what i hear, the Sandking is now 4WD.

Which is now 35/65 (35% of the power goes to the front wheels, 65% to the rear), also changed the Dump (gave it ~20% better acceleration and top speed), and made the Mesa get just a bit more damage from collisions (10% higher). The biggest change was they made all the planes quite a bit faster.

Wait, are you serious? For offline too? I don't remember them mentioning this in the update log.

Well, who here can get the handling.dat file from the update package? That's the only official proof we have to see if they did change it, we can compare it to the previous one.

I agree as well which is not a good thing to me. Luckily if I mod them right they still have the same handling V did at the start. Stock handling does seem more like IV.

Ya know I coulda sworn I felt my laser flying faster. Good. Planes were obnoxiously slow and this was something I was gonna mod myself on PC eventually anyways.

Alright, here you go: Original, 1.01, and 1.08

With 1.01 there were minor changes to Entity and Z-Type IIRC.

And if anyone is interested, here's my modified handling.

It's best if you download these and view them with notepad++, there's also code comparing websites online.

Are planes faster??? That would be great. Although they go fast i am holidays atm and seeing a jumbo fly down the runway looks very fast. The jumbo jets in GTA V are sloww

To go through and view? Get ps3tools, use Game Update Download to download the pkg, then use PkgView to open and extract it, then Liberty V to open the game's .rpf files.

I noticed the Adder handles different to, I thought it was placebo effect.

but now I think they touched the handling, and it is worse then before.

not much but still.

No it isn't and thank God it isn't, GTA IV's driving was terrible.

While I prefer the handling in IV better than V, changing it was an absolutely terrible idea unless there were vehicles that were practically undrivable.

Instead the patch should have added an option when it comes to handling, to appeal to fans of both.

Really? I didn't notice anything! But then again I don't pay attention to detail. To be frank I liked the driving when GTA V was first released more than GTA IV

The only thing wrong with IV's driving was the traction and suspension on vehicles. Rockstar overdid it in GTA V and all you practically need to do is hit the gas and that's it. There are mods for IV and EFLC that modified the traction and suspension, and they were great.

Anyways, with 1.08 I haven't noticed any differences with cars. They still seem to drive the same. It'd be nice if someone could get a comparison video going with those two different handling files.

Thank God they changed it. V's arcadey handling is worse than Saints Row's handling. It isn't fun in any damn way. IV's was the best, although it WAS EXAGGERATED, however it was much more fun and realistic. Also loving that the planes are faster. I will give it a try today. f*ck YES.

Yes the handling is more IV like. I think it's actually perfect now.

The car's body and suspension actually move now when you go over a kerb straight on. Just like GTA4, kerbs can send your car sideways or even worse if you're not careful. But if anything, it's way better than the awkward judd that made the car look like it had welded shock absorbers in 1.00

All this game needed (aside from the faster planes) was proper suspension like GTA IV had. And guess what? V still doesn't have it. Get on a motorcycle and go over a curb. The frame and wheels are rock stiff and there's no freaking suspension body roll at all.

This one thing looked aside and V's original handling was perfect. I tried driving a NRG-900 yesterday in TBOGT and my god f*cking AWFUL. The rear wheel would slip out on me even at slow speed. UNACCEPTABLE. And the fact that 15 year olds think this is REALISTIC just boils my blood at how deluded they are.

I don't believe any of this. Does anyone have any video proof of before update and after update doing the same thing?

I don't think anyone have said it is realistic either.
