It's pretty simple... griefer-proof. And I couldn't give a f*ck about kids driving their adders into me.

A tank is like a sh*t magnet though.

I can't take a cruise in my tank without someone, usually the first person I see, attacking me.

I only shoot them if they get serious, but still... c'mon.

Saw a guy try and dent a tank with his baseball bat once.

Got swatted off like a fly, rofl.

I was standing around taking a few snaps the other day, turned around and there was a guy in a tank right next to me. I shat myself and started to run but then noticed that he just wanted to be friends! (awww!)

Eventually we went on a bit of a rampage killing police and what not.

So moral of the story is not everyone in a tank is an idiot trying to get their k/d ratio up like that sh*ts important.

You're allowed to be in your tank... But don't believe you're griefer proof. The second you shoot another player, I will be 3 blocks down and 40 stories up with my heavy sniper. & the people you decided to "troll" and/or kill farm will be driving down the street in your tank as I parachute down.

I was killing a crap load of Tank drivers last night. 3 in a crew were sitting on a bridge. I got up on the FIB building and took them all out. A couple I took out 3 or 4 times. Dude was flipping out on the mic and crying that I was a modder because theres no way I can shoot him while he is in a tank. Then they sent one of their friends to kill me in a buzzard, but he didnt last long either.

You are in deep sh*t if you are on the ground near a tank. But if you can get away from the tank and onto higher ground, that tank is the one in trouble.

My way of grief-proof is being in a large enough crew that none of us have to play with randoms ever!

Another simple way to avoid griefers is solo session or invite only... Seriously, I don't see why griefing is an issue when there are these options available. Plus, Xbox has the option to prefer/not prefer anyone you have played with, and it works pretty well.

Not sure if PS3 has the same, but I'm sure they have something similar...

Yea it's like people can't play unless they're in a public match. It's really not hard to avoid griefers in this game.

Yes. But if you go into a solo session you can't access the GTA online missions which have the highest payouts.

I wonder why peoples shoot my tank while I don't shoot back.

IT'S A FREAKING TANK! IT WON'T HURT IT AND IT COULD SHOOT YOU! Don't try to drive by it shooting like an idiot or try to hurt it with your machinegun. It's made of freaking heavy, thick metal armor.

Only reason to use a tank in free roam, is because you have little nuts and want to be a big squirrel.

Oh btw.. because fa**ot too.

Judging by your avatar, and this is just pure speculation, but, people, like yourself, would know that from first hand experience. Correct?

Half of the people who use tanks are doing it for the peace of mind, for their own security because they don't want to be shot at 10 times by a kid with broken english.

The other half is because they're assholes.

How oldo some players get a tank anyway? I saw players retrieve a Rhino from the police station near the Vespucci canals. I just don't see how players risk using a Cargobob that have a chance of getting blown out of the sky.. But I guess it takes skill...

Yup, a game that could actually be played (and replayed) in SP for a very long time.

You can purchase a tank from warstock cache and carry and call pegasus to deliver it. The police station is one of the delivery locations.

So you shoot through the little hatch thing I assume? Can you do it with the normal sniper?

when you keep driving tank all days, it's not GTA anymore.

it's just became battlefield.

I see where you're coming from, OP, but you have to see where we normal drivers are coming from.

What do you think we think when we're driving our expensive, modified, little paper-thin cars and we turn a corner and there's a goddamn tank? As with all other parts of GTAO, it's generally safer to assume hostiliy than to assume friendliness because, let's be be honest, it's about a 25:1 ratio there at least.

Also, I'm usually driving fast enough/good enough to avoid RDMers, and if I'm being chased I have my sticky bombs or AP pistol. If I'm not doing anything, I'll even get to a defensible position and fight it out with them one-on-one. Generally, if the player is a bitch they'll run away, and if they're good, it can turn into a fun gunfight.
