Each world has its own ecosystem with potentially unforgiving conditions, such as desert worlds with large carnivorous worms.

The only good thing shown at the VGX 2013. Actually, it's not just good - it looks freaking amazing.

It actually looks quite good, I don't understand what the game is about to be honest, but maybe that's what looks so good about it?

Came here looking for a Beyonce Kelly Rowland reunion. Left feeling quite disappointed.

I hope the main protag isn't Beyoncé. I like Kelly better.

I really like the look of this but we will have to wait and see what it turns out like. With a team of just 4 people I'm expecting a bug riddled release though.

Shame. Even though I wasn't interested in the game, it had so much potential.

Seems all is not lost. Saw this at e3, it blew my mind

This is like spore space adventures, how it should have been, with the infinity of minecraft, or starbound on crack-cocaine. This game just looks oh so perfect

I have to say it: to infinity and beyond! (not beyond two souls) Seriously though, they have attracted my attention on this title. I f*cking love this in concept and the art style is just stunningly beautiful.

what?

Yeah I've been following them fairly closely since the flooding incident. The industry has been more than helpful by supplying dev kits to them and other equipment. I think in terms of game development all they lost was around a months worth of work due to some backups they had of previous builds.

It's very rare these days that all a company does is release a pretty standard gameplay video and that's enough to get your imagination rolling. No cgi no bell no whistles just pure gameplay and they let the game speak for itself. This is one of the reasons I've been besotted with this title since the first video and is also one of my most anticipated titles to date I've seen.

It does boggle the mind to see what just 4 people have achieved! According to them though alot of that is due to procedural generation, if it wasn't for that technology then they wouldn't have been able to achieve what they have so far. I'm still confused exactly how this is going to all be synced up online as people discover new planets / places / animals as there explanation was pretty vague, so i'm hoping there network coding lives upto what they have done with the game so far. I can see a bright future for this title if they do pull it off.

ok so this game looks astounding.

but I really need some more information about it. like the videos alone are too good to be true. I understand they were captured in real time. performance isn't my concern. I'm worried that the gameplay cannot possibly have enough substance to support the potential depth of the universe.

from deep underwater you can ascend to explore an entire world from which you can blast off into an entire solar system and star clusters populated by other worlds that can be explored from bottom to top. all the while some kind of intergalactic space battle occurs inbetween? nah. there's no way this lives up to the promise.

is it MMO or singleplayer/COOP?

what exactly will be the point of the game?

Wait, this is on PC? Wow, hadn't properly watched the footage yet, but this looks absolutely fantastic... If it is real. If so, open world pur sang.

Here an interview with one of the developers:

For me, it will be to cruise around and relax. I'm sure it will have scripted missions and stuff, but open-world games are about freedom, open-universe games are about... um, what's beyond freedom? We'll have to wait and see what possiblities this opens up.

I don't like the graphics of this game. Well, I guess not the graphics, but the art style?

It gives me a slight headache every time I watch gameplay of it. Will be skipping this one...but there's always the other 2 to look forward to, so I'm not completely bummed out

It looks like what the main stream movies/TV made video games look like 15 years ago. Not saying that's a bad thing.

I really can't wait for this game, the only things i wish they would include is space weather and events like huge meteors colliding with planets, destroying them. The resulting debris being sent out into space and may even collide with another planet or something itself. To implement a system like this system in a randomized, dynamic way would make this game perfect for me, as long as a planet destroying event wasn't annoyingly regular i think it would be brilliant.

EDIT: That's also paving the way for species extinction, the evolution of the universe and creating history within the game.

yeah apparently every planet will have its own random ecosystem of unique flora and fauna.

not to mention the fact that everything is procedurally generated.

it just sounds too good to be true.

I dunno how this game is actually going to play but it sure does look amazing.

Sums up my feelings towards this game, the videos I've seen look super fun and hint at a chance of adventure, but what will the actual gameplay be like?

The game looks amazing, shame it is going to be a PS4 exclusive, might have to get one for that game at least.

I would love to see some co-op with this.

With games like this I'm always a bit concerned about actual gameplay, what exactly is it? A flight shooter? A strategy game (he mentions resources)? Just a free-roam game?

I'll wait 'till I see some gameplay from a scenario or mission or something.
