First i saw it at the hippy camp, a pair of shoes hanging on a big dead tree.

dwhh.jpgIt didnt get my attention since it got a low res model/ texture. So i discard it as a decoration stuff made by rockstar

then i saw this one at merle abraham burned house

2efm6f5.jpg

it started to caught my attention at this point since there are 2 pair of hanging shoes each at 2 important places.

So i try roaming around the map in searching for another hanging shoes then found another 5

actually i'm thinking that this shoes are related to the infinity killer. So maybe there are 8 pair of hanging shoes since there are 8 victims.

Already found 7 by now.

btw this theory is dead if someone find more than 8 pair of hanging shoes though.

if anything.....I'd put it down to maybe a little easter egg about children/teens not being in the game etc...mostly kids and younger teens have a habit of doing this..I could walk 5 blocks from my place and come across 10-15 hanging pairs of shoes around the streets honestly.....but still,an interesting find

I actually have the same theory. I was able to find three: Merle's house, the one on Mt. Chilliad with the house with the random moving couch, and the one by the Alamo Sea. I see the one at the hippie camp. Where did you find the other three?

He did kill young jogging boys, so maybe he kept their shoes as a momento? I mean, all the shoes are the same!

Well, my fiance and I are digging into it. If we end up not finding anything, oh well.

But still. Why put hanging shoes in a burned down house?

Where I'm from. Sacramento, Ca.

And around East Oakland.

It means some one died there (usually a victim of gangs)

Did you notice that they're in pairs? So far, two are in Sandy Shores, two are by the Alamo Sea, and two of them are in El Burro Heights.

So, maybe the last pair are by the mountian ones? My fiance is searching there now. I'll let you know if we find them

I just found the scene and it looks like a pair of shoes are on the power line, but I have no idea where other than somewhere in the city, possibly lower on the city map

such as this omega

aqrz.jpg

as a reference

greekalphabet.gif

it's not related to this shoe stuff though.

So something like this: http://rsg.ms/1bvMmGU

I'm also starting to get the feeling that those shoes aren't there. That doesn't even look like Franklin. I read somewhere that was his first design or something.

Like HakatoX sayed above, A pair of shoes thrown over powerlines is a gang sign.

It marks the place of death of a gang member

Not all of the shoes are hung on power lines though

and if that's what R* was doing, then why aren't there shoes in Franklin's old neighborhood or CJ's old neighborhood?

The shoe styles are from the mid 90's so I strongly believe this has something to do with the infinity killer.

That's what Neku_Neku and I are thinking. However, we can't find an eighth pair.

in the ghetto its an easy way of letting people know they can buy drugs on a certain block/street. They hang them up in the middle of the street or begining. never the less this is just a prop in the game... consider it no more interesting than a cup that a ped is holding

CORRECT, this is paying homage to CJ, the Grove and the LS gang wars of the early 90s.

You've read about how the missing "psi" can be found in the psych report, yes? Some people theorize that the psych report is the unwritten tract, and that you must play the game so that the "psi" in the psych report will turn gold or something, symbolizing that you've unlocked "the trutH". Sounds kinda crazy to me, but wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

Can someone please post a map with points of interest markers placed at the shoe locations?
I have an idea that may go with this as well.
