they literally become irrelevant to the game after unlocking an assault rifle and AP pistol

am i the only one who enjoys the mp5 still?

Yup, SMG are completely useless in the endgame. That being said, they get replaced with the two MGs.

I like their sound and rate of fire. I still use it here and there. I like to shuffle through all my weapons.

I enjoy using the Assault SMG should I be placed in deathmatches, as I'd rather not suppress and therefore reduce the overall effectivenes against NPCs by suppressing my assault rifles. I switch between ARs and MGs vs npcs to conserve ammo.

I still like to use my SMG from time to time or my assault SMG.

SMG has a cool sound. And the damage isn't that bad either.

Assault SMG is sweet for CQC during deathmatches. Great for headshots, but the Assault Shotgun outclasses it. Kind of a bummer. That P90 lookalike is fresh

I still use them against NPCs. They are cool, cheap and perform well against beings sensible to pain.

 

Against another player that can still run and gun while getting hit, it´s a death sentence.

I can imagine they'd be very useful for stealth missions or close quarter missions like the one in SP where you're fighting out of that skyscraper (depending on which approach you chose). As far as I'm aware though, no such mission exists.

-It's my favourite weapon

-Ammo is cheap

-Crosshair (enhanced option) isn't a piece of sh*t that doesn't let you see your target (unlike rifles)

 

They are only misused by the auto aimers, while us free aimers can pop heads with pistols and SMGs at a fair distance.

Assault rifles are too good for medium, shotguns excel in CQ.. subs lost their niche and MG's rape long distance until sniper range.

 

 

Ideally they would be for medium range where they can group the same as an assault rifle but with faster rates of fire.

I like all my weapons...I keep all the weapons...and I cycle through them all just cause. Even the melees I like to change up from time to time.

Assault SMG is an excellent gun for survival. It seems to chew NPCs up, and I seem to get a ton of head shots with it.

Close to getting the army camo for the MP5 but...even I gotta admit the ARs kill way faster, though smgs do have an important role in free aim lobbies where spray and pray pays off more since they..especially the micro uzi fire a lot faster than the other weapons.

SMG is the weapon I use the most (Survival/Gangs)

Love how it looks on my character and the sound makes with suppressor.

I enjoy them. Silence and making a first kill with them. I don't use them against other players though. Not enough punch.

I agree.  Also, the knife should have a mod unlocked around that level so that it becomes longer.  I'd like it to have the same effective length as a sniper rifle so I can stand on a rooftop and stab people 3 blocks away.

Yeah ammo is cheaper, but you use more of it. Faster rate of fire, less damage etc.

Advanced rifle is the goto gun. Assault shotty for close range. Assault mg for longer range. And the heavy sniper for anything further. Oh and the ap pistol for in vehicle

The thing about GTA Online is that it's multiplayer which means every one is going to use the top tier stuff or what ever spits out bullets the fastest. No one cares to have fun and brings with very competitive attitude to the game which isn't a bad thing, but there shouldn't be a be end all weapon considering there's barely any to begin with.

Adding a weapon limiter to deathmatches wouldn't hurt (as an option defaulting to 'all').

A bit like in GTA:IV deathmatches where you'd select the  type of weapons available from Melee to All.

I havent touched my SMG after unlocking the rifles.. I feel like theres no point, it doesn't stand a chance against the other weapons

How exactly does this make them "misused"?

The SMG is always my go to gun indoors as it'll take down most people faster than the other guns.
