Why is this so hard to figure out? It's one thing to let the idiot trolls create multiple accounts to spam their lame jokes, but this porn sh*t is out of hand.

I'm beginning to think this is a real Mickey Mouse operation....

Thread with link to YouTube video...locked in seconds...

Porn everywhere....no mods in sight.

It's a little old. I'll sit here and patiently wait my punishment for suggesting that something is wrong with porn everywhere...you know...after you delete-o-bomb this thread.

You know, most of it is dealt with so swiftly you probably never see it. Of course, some does stay for longer than we'd like.

And the spammers also know better than to just use one IP address all the time.

IP bans aren't done unless in serious cases. What you've described isn't serious at all. Just report anything inappropriate and it will be dealt with soon enough, you'll be helping the community at the same time.

Dynamic IPs, duh!

Like we always say, just report the topic and move along. You make it seem like we deliberately keep the porn topics open. All reports are dealt with whenever a mod is online. There might be delays every now and then because we don't have this place covered 24/7, but it's no biggie.

Exactly, I can't click threads. Something has to be done, you lose a lot members because of this bullsh*t.

IP ban won't resolve anything.

Yes you can deal with these moron...I've had it done to stupid members on a forum I co-founded and Admin...difference is...we care...we get money from corporate advertisers and manufactures in the subject area send us free review samples to promote their products to members...so we have an obligation to keep it clean...and we do...it's possible...you just don't wanna...or don't know what you are doing.

I don't know, but don't give me this junk that it isn't a big deal. There is a big difference between saying idiot trolls aren't a problem, but some of the images that get thrown up here are outrageous and SHOULD be a problem...even if you think they aren't.

I guess active membership isn't a big deal, or you guys just don't get that sh*t crap is going to turn people away. "It doesn't stay up long." So what when they turn around and make a new account and pop more up....

And that's another thing...there are ways to ensure that accounts aren't spammed by requiring more verification. You can also have a probationary period where new members post are moderated before posting. There are numerous ways to nip this crap in the bud.

Sure circumventing IP bans is easy enough. That doesn't mean there aren't things that can be done. Again, if you don't care...whatever...then don't.

Those measures only work on small-medium sized forums. We get ~400 new members every day.

IP Bans really don't work when Dynamic IP's and proxies are like Assholes, Everyone's got one.

It's like trying to drain the Red Sea with a shot glass.

Just because some do something, doesn't mean preventions should be put in place that will stop legitimate users from posting. The resolve isn't to stop the few while pissing off the many. What's more effort, scrolling the 2 seconds to report, or limiting everybodies posting abilities/forum usage.

Plus, this kind of stuff blows over, this site has alot of traffic because of V still being new, with the populace that comes are the trolls and the kids who don't care about the community and don't care if they get banned.

It's impossible to "IP Ban" a user, simply because it only takes a few seconds to change your IP Address. And I'm pretty sure that PHP doesn't support a Mac Ban feature (where it pulls your mac address) and bans that instead.
