Just want to add my two cents:

1 - It was very difficult for me to read your post. That is all.

2 - What makes you think that GTA 5 will be released on next-gen?

Also, I'm happy for you, enjoy your new console.

Because GTA V was released at the very end of the 7th Gen consoles lifecycle. It's very obvious it will be on next-gen consoles.

That doesn't mean anything.

GTA: SA was published in June 2005 for Xbox and Xbox 360 hit the market in november. Was the game published on Xbox 360?

Pretty much this, Hundreds if not thousands of games have been published at the end of a console life cycle and never saw light on the next generation.

2008 on xbox, 3 years AFTER the current gen dropped, 4 years after the game released.

2012 on PS3.

I think that's different as last gen console were somewhat backwards compatible, its not really releasing it for PS3/360, its just re-releasing the original in the new marketplace. It had no benefits.

Indeed, but the main difference with GTA V is that they have GTA: Online. It sounds like they want to keep that going for a while, at least up to the next GTA. So a next-gen port does seem more likely this time.

R* seems to treat GTA:O as a different game though, so it's not that clear what will be ported in such case.

When Gaikai arrives, then there will be announcements. I mean why would they announce it now when it only came out and Gaikai isn't available yet? That is what will let us play PS1, 2 and 3 games by streaming it through the cloud service.

Doubt GTAV will come to next-gen consoles, but I think GTA:O will be available for download sometime soon.

It's pretty stupid of Sony not having extra stocks up until Christmas. Look at the amount of people buying it on Ebay, goddammit! They could have sold at least another 2 million consoles already.

Why do you care about that so much, are you their spokesmen or something . Its funny how fanboys act like their favorite companies are part of their family or something, pathetic .

Well the Xbox360 was fairly compatible with the original Xbox, they had relatively similar architecture so software emulation was all that was required.

The PS3 and PS2 are nothing alike though, hence why original PS3's actually had PS2 Hardware inside them to make the PS2 games run because software emulation wasn't enough (that's why PS3's were so damn expensive on release), so releasing it on PS3 did require some porting.

Tomb Raider was released far earlier in the year than GTA V, and it's been confirmed to be getting a next-gen port. It's not hard to imagine GTA V getting the same treatment.

By that logic every game in the last year that's been successful will be ported over. I'd love to experience V on the PS4 but I just don't see it happening any time soon. The only thing that makes me think it might be possible is how much they are invested in making GTA:O the complete GTA experience to hold everyone over until the next release and in a couple of years when a large number of people have upgraded they will want to have a presence and who is to say if that will be GTA or a new Red Dead.

Oh and btw the next gen Tomb Raider isn't a port, they completely rebuilt it for the next gen consoles from the ground up, complete waste of time imo.

I've seen people pay a lot of money to keep a game system exclusive, not to mention that GTA V is a considerably larger game with no planned PC version, where as Tomb Raider already has a PC port that can quite easily be shifted onto the next generation of consoles. Rockstar doesn't have that luxury.
