My theory is that Rockstar is waiting until they release all of the DLC that is possibly already in the files (conspiracy theorist in me believes so...) and perfect GTAO. Then, they'll release the game of the year edition, followed by the PC, PS4, and XBO versions with all of the content and maybe more on next gen, persuading you to buy the game again for next gen.
We walk away with no cash and a slightly better version of GTA V, while Rockstar walks away with billions of dollars laughing at us for not learning anything from a game about robbing people. And we deserve it.

Imagine. If they had decided to make GTA V for next gen, we'd be pulling off heists together right now, gambling at the casino, and visiting some cluckin' bells etc. Considering the PS4 and Xbox One are both available now...

Speak for yourself ... We are sold out until February here, so that would have been 6 months I couldn't play

Now both ps4 and xbone are out, I can't help but worry about R*'s plans

Pre release I was in the school of thought that SA came out at the end of ps2's life cycle.. and was unaffected.

Now more and more of my freinds have next gen, I'm starting to realise that R* kinda need a next gen plan up their sleeve... even if it's just GTA:Online that comes..

Here's why.. Online relies on us playing lots on a daily basis (SA only needed the initial sale to be "successful" ), everyday more and more people are selling/shelving their ps3's etc replaced by their new ps4, by the time March hits GTA:Online will see a huge dent in players (due to them simply not owing a ps3/xbox anymore) and as time goes on it will get worse.... R* NEED to have foreseen this and have a plan up their sleeve.. otherwise GTA:Online is the worst business move ever!

  1. Your expectations for the game were too high or different if you think it's "watered down."
  2. Rockstar wouldn't have made/make much money from next-gen ports, so it doesn't make sense to waste resources on it, though I think it'll be ported eventually.

This.

Or maybe they'll just do what the Injustice devs did and make a GOTY edition and announce it for PC (I don't see PS4/XBO of GTA V happening) then later release (or release at the same time too) for PS3/360.

Makes perfect sense to me so they can get PC players that ignored the game, and console players that want the PC version to spend $60 on it, despite it being so late to the party with other amazing titles it's trying to compete with next year.

Possibly. They're going to rob us one way or another, lol

Okay, please forgive me if I'm gonna be rude, I have nothing against you.

But this thread is stupid.

How is it stupid? Just saying... the amount of time since GTA V release and today has gone in the blink of an eye. Just to think if they shifted their development to a next gen version instead they would have been able to deliver an enormously better version of GTA V. And we'd already be playing it.

Pay no mind to IDred, he's a mindless spammer.

In my point of view, IF GTA V was made for next gen, the sales would've been quite minimal, as the timing of the next gen consoles is just beginning.

I myself am horribly dissapointed with the new consoles. PS having a Network+ membership force is irritating, PS3 had free WiFi link possibility. So yeah, I'd say Rockstar would've been in quite some trouble with the sales if they would've made it next gen.
