My co-worker's 8 year-old daughter is required to learn foreign languages in elementary school...here in Michigan, the schools don't suck, like they do where you all live
School sucks period, no matter where you are. Just have a conversation with any old head that's been in the workforce for 20-30 years. They ALL will tell you about 5%-10% of what they had in highschool and college is what they are currently using for working in the real world. I finished college with two degrees, Criminal Justice, and Computer Forensics and I bearly use anything I learned from school in the real world. You basically get hired and LEARN AS YOU GO on the job. Most jobs train people, they don't just let you walk in to work on day 1 and expect you to know everything. School has always been like this too for 100 years, if not longer, much things need to change in the USA. Why are people so ignorant? EDUCATION needs fixing, and so does parenting, and many laws, one major one being marijuana laws. Absolute horsesh*t if you ask me, it's medicine, some people need it, get over it - The Government is on their high horse busting people for small mary jane possession, and for what? To send them to jail and have all the tax payers pay for their holding cell? There is since 2011, over 1 million people in jail for minor offences such as these, and EACH holding in tax dollars costs 50,000 per person. Do the math. Not to mention in over half the country 25/50 roughly states have it legalized for medical purposes. 2/50 states completely legalized it - Planning on moving to Wash or Col sometime in the near future, and about 20/50 states have it decriminalized, cuz it's easily not a criminal act. Something sure is wrong with this whole country, let alone some laws, and education. It's gonna need a revolution to occur to fix all this. Not to mention all the shootings, bombings, USA being the police of the world trying to go to other countries cuz we are big and bad, well f*ck the good ol' USA.
When you stated you are planning to move, that showed your opinions are biased. I'm against the use of any chemical (natural or not) that alters the mind for recreational purposes. A general lack of discipline and respect in our society is the biggest factor I can see in the problems you've listed. Getting rid of drugs and problems that come with them would help. Making it perfectly fine for tens of millions to be high all the time isn't going to help anything.
Dream on. You do remember prohibition, right? It didn't work. Nor does the war on drugs work. Only dense people believe the government is actually winning. Take down a drug dealer, out pops 10 more. Kill a crop? Out pops 100 more, etc...
You're biased too with what you said about "isn't going to help when tens of millions people are high all the time" - I stated it's medicine. Medicinal users don't get "high" and can't function. They build a tolerance, like you can do with ANY drug illegal or legal. Once you have a tolerance even the slightest your body gets used to it and becomes second nature. You don't act impaired when you smoke, unless you're on your first try or week of smoking ever. Plus, there is numerous ways to deliver THC through baking it/cooking it, through vaporization, through a THC pill prescribed by a doctor, and through smoking it.
I am a half marathon runner and ran my first 13.2 miles after a vaporizer. It's already known to help asthmatic people, which it does for me. It's known to help people tremendously who are epileptic, it's not known 100% for a fact, but right now in Israel in a lab they are testing it out with certain cancers to see if it would be a cure to some of them.
I just find it strange how anyone can speak badly of this medicine. I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when in fact it is 100% proven to cure cancers, I will laugh all the way to the bank when in 30 years all the baby boomers who are stuck in their ways, dipsh*t generation, dies out and younger people take office, legalize it, and watch the debt of the whole pethetic USA rise out of debt like it never did before. That's right. Check out California'a medical industry, trillionaires due to marijuana. Colorado is taxing it heavily now. In fact, where it's legal nobody is caring for it anymore cuz it's legal. Dipsh*ts who rebel at young ages usually drink alcohol and when they turn the required age, most stop cuz it's not fun anymore. It's only fun to get away with it as a teen. Look at Portugal, they have every single drug on earth legal from Nicotine Cancer Stick smoking, through the worst drug on earth, PCP, and they are doing just fine.
The only deniers of this god-like drug are usually people who have addiction problems to begin with, or are just plane stupid and follow the trend of "It's illegal, so it must be bad" - You do know being LEGAL has nothing to do with a drug being bad or good for you. And vice versa. Beging ILLEGAL doesn't mean it's good or bad either. YOU be the judge of that, don't just follow the crowd and think they are right. In fact marijuana is at a vote of 55% of USA FOR IT and 45% NOT FOR IT. And it's only getting stronger. Deny it all your life, it won't matter to me. I am a better person on it and if you understood that some people need such a thing, you'd be for it, you just deny the drug because you think "getting high" will cause harm, it's not about getting high and laughing your ass off and eating a lot of food, it's about being the best person you can be and how well you perform. If you can be a better person on it, who's to judge and say I can't put something into my body
It's like abortion. If the girl wants to abort her baby, it's fine. Her body, she is the boss of her own body, as I am the own boss of my body, I can smoke crack of I wanted, I can shoot up heroine of I wanted, I can smoke the good ol' green leaves if I want to, nobody should judge anybody for it, and that is the problem with the whole country - Judgemental pricks all around.
I don't use anything but marijuana and been using since March 2008. It's not a gateway drug whatsoever and it all depends on your GENETICS, if you can handle it, then smoke 'em if you got 'em, if you can't handle it and have an addictive personality, run like hell from ALL drugs, even caffeine and sugar.
Plus man made pills will always be more harmful than something off the green earth - Fact.
Get on man made pills, be ready to get your liver tested monthly due to the chemicals inside man made garbage like Xanex, Klonopin, and Valium that doctors prescribe for anxiety, when in fact you can take one hit of weed and be good for the whole day, unlike the hurtful pills wearing off within 1 hour and need to take another.
Again, I am not a drug addict, I just find this stuff interesting and if nobody is hurting me or anyone else, it's not a crime. That simple. Laws need to change, and they W.I.L.L. within 10 years, mark my words, already they are changing, but slowly. Why? Cuz people are becoming more aware of the positive effects of the drug and they by far outweigh any negatives. Just do research before you speak. I mean, my sister is a Pharmacist so knowing the pharmacology of drugs is always fasinating, and I am a Criminal Justice major and know about laws and the government and how badly they need to change, as does juvenile and adult courts.
Long ass rant, but it had to be done. See ya lol
P.S. There is no proven documented overdose on marijuana to date. When in fact, you drink too much alcohol, you black out, you go into a coma, you get alcohol poisoning, and you die. That simple. Idc if weed is illegal, I do the smart thing and choose what is safe, unlike alcohol and cancer stick cigarettes that do what? Give you a five second head rush and then you want to smoke another, f*ck that lol
